Achieving this muscle mass with cerebral palsy is quite a feat.

Le sigh…. Perhaps English wasn’t your strongest subject. 😆

u/_PetitVelle 4h ago

It's definitely inspiring to see people overcome obstacles and chase their dreams, no matter how they express it. It's all about the message, right?

u/OmniBotBeepBoop 12h ago

Seriously impressive!

I grow up with a best friend that has cerebral palsy. I used to workout with him in college. He moved around a lot like this gentleman, but once he got under the bar and locked in, he could coordinate fine. Something about being under load helped him stabilize. It was cool to watch. So really, he just needed a little assistance unpacking and that was it.

This is just one anecdotal case, I’m not painting every person with CP as the same here.

u/irikalangthel 2h ago

Dreams really do come true if we don’t give up on it.

u/StormFast524 12h ago

Yes it takes a lot of determination

u/PaulDRoberts 14h ago

Very inspiring, good on him! 👏🏼

u/Kapper-WA 14h ago

I wonder what kind of routine he did to achieve this physique, does anyone know? I assume with the CP, it's extremely challenging to do free weights. So maybe he used machine weights or even body weight? It seems so hard to get a good workout if it is difficult to control movements. Crazy impressive.

u/BakedBrie1993 13h ago edited 10h ago

I wonder if he uses BFR / tourniquet machine. I used it for PT to build back muscle in a low impact way.

Edit: BFR

u/scixton 10h ago

I tried googling but didn’t get far. As someone with an SCI I’d love to hear more about this machine

u/BakedBrie1993 10h ago

Hi, it's called a BFR cuff actually, sorry for the typo.

Blood Flow Restriction / Blood Flow Restriction training

Measures an individual blood pressure, restricts some blood flow so you feel like you are using more weights than you are, reducing the risk of injury while you build back muscle strength.

Basically a way to build muscle with less actual stress on body from weights.

Used it during PT after breaking my leg.

To be clear I have zero idea if body builders use it. Was just a weed induced thought that it could work.

u/zonked282 13h ago

See this is genuinely one of, if not THE , most impressive things I've ever seen. Dude is in peak condition

u/ferchoec 9h ago

That's it. Fuck it, I don't have a single excuse after watching this. Admirable guy, inspiring and, honestly, infuriating. Bravo to him; I am mad. Time to make a real change.

u/StormFast524 14h ago

God blessed him with a dream and ability to not give up♥️

u/typhoidtimmy 14h ago

Seriously, props to him. Great definition and symmetry. Frank Zane would be proud.

u/raw_enha 14h ago

God had nothing to do with it. Credit to the human who did the work, not magic.

u/StormFast524 14h ago

When you do t like what a person types in a reply then move on. You hate doesn’t belong here.

u/Gullenecro 13h ago

There is no hate, this guy has achieved it from hard work, perseverance!

It s not because of a god or whatsever, it s 100% because of himself!!!

By saying god blessed him with a gift blabla you are downgraded his merit. All credit is for him.

u/raw_enha 12h ago

I appreciate that you understood my intent, thank you

u/raw_enha 14h ago

No hate. People are comfortable bringing up something and I'lm comfortable with the opposite.

People can disagree, respectfully, as we do.

u/StormFast524 13h ago

It was not up for debate so no you did it to start a debate.

u/darklinkuk 5h ago

It is to us, you diminished a disabled persons impossibly hard work as blessing from a magic sky fairy.

u/OwnerOfCat 14h ago

If only god had given him those things without the cerebral palsy.

u/StormFast524 14h ago edited 14h ago

That would have been betterat least he was given the will to never give up

u/WasteOfBerries 11h ago

Riiiiight, because a god gave him muscles that were perfect oh wait

Imma give credit to the person that actually did the work, and struggled through their 'god-given' cerebral palsy to achieve their own goals.

This is a testament to a person's achievement. A human person.

u/StormFast524 11h ago

No one discredited the hard work this man put in. You are making assumptions.

u/Larsmantex1965 13h ago

Awesome, it's great to see a person that has disabilities, and work on there goals they want to achieve...❤️

u/elementmg 11h ago

Thats fucking WILD that he can pull of that physique with Cerebral Palsy.

That’s an unbelievable accomplishment, massive props to that dude!!!

u/Bachitra 4h ago

Very impressive. 🫡

u/Very_Sharpe 1h ago

Honestly, what a fucking CHAMPION

u/c0mpg33k 31m ago

Dude clearly put in the work and has a hell of a physique to show for it.

u/deeryk 13h ago

He's proof that the word "suffering" has no place in a description about CP. He's a bad ass who happens to also have CP. That's not political correctness, that's an honest description.

u/Vintage-Grievance 11h ago

Keep in mind that his experience is not universal among all cases of CP. And that his achievements are just a fraction of his life that we are seeing. We don't know how many bad days, days where he really struggled, he had leading up to this moment.

Being strong, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, etc., doesn't automatically mean a person does not suffer from their condition. Merely that they found ways to accommodate their condition - ways that worked for them specifically to get them where they are now and often with a lot of support from family, friends, trainers, and an extensive medical team.

Badass? Absolutely. But we should be cautious not to dismiss the reality (which often includes 'suffering' to one extent or another) occurring "behind the scenes".

u/deeryk 10h ago

We should indeed be aware of individual differences, and that CP has a very wide spectrum of symptoms and severity. However, I would say we need to be cautious not to assume a person suffers from their disability behind the scenes. To some extent every athlete struggles to get to this level. And someone with a disability likely struggles in different ways than someone without one. But to say they suffer? That implies something "less than". I'm not pushing back on the basis of semantics. But I'm gently trying to point out that you're using an outdated and offensive term.

u/Vintage-Grievance 8h ago

I'm part of the chronically ill/disabled community, I can assure you, we still use the term 'suffers from ____' to describe what it is like to live in a society that is not built to properly provide for anyone who is not able-bodied.

While people who are disabled truly are not 'less than', society certainly treats them that way, and to ignore the challenges that the ill and disabled face on a regular basis, is to ignore the systemic ableism that tends to err on the side of 'If you're doing X, you must be perfectly fine and not affected by the condition you claim to have' which is precisely why I am wary of anyone who assumes personal achievements = fewer struggles.

u/Dry_Start_9980 14h ago

Amazing what succeed to achieve.

Sad that such an event has an animated background AI generated though... What a world.
