I genuinely can't tell if the fall was intentional or not, because it looks so real but god damn he was smoooooth with it
•
u/gillababe 10h ago
I think it was semi intentional because he had too much speed rolling up and didn't want to smash into them.
Well not in that way

Same, I replayed it way more times than I’d like to admit. It’s ridiculously catchy.

My first day of senior year at a new high school, some guy walked into class, tripped on a chair, and went flying. Landed right at my feet in exactly this position. We dated for five years.

If I’m being 100% honest as an awkward gangly guy in my youth… some people really, really, don’t know how to fall.
It’s like the unspoken low tier athleticism that never gets commented on compared to the athletes on a sports team.
But if you show some bodily control and awareness of your limbs and physics, that’s not nothing.
I’ve seen a bizarre amount of people who trip and just face plant slowly over the course of their stumbling because it seems like they’ve never done anything physical in their life beyond 3rd grade recess. (And Christ I’m not trying to be rude there.)
If we extend the metaphor, I can’t imagine those people are great when it comes to physical romance beyond a peck on the cheek while sitting on the check. I realize that comment is a bit ruder.

that was soo smooth
imagine ending up together and telling their children how he met their mom
"slipped and slid straight into her heart"
•
u/HopSkoxh 17h ago
Uh no thank you, would not like to hear about my dad slipping and sliding in my mom.

How do you think said children were made!

My mental stability relies on me being miraculously dropped off in this world by a stork.

Imagine telling your kids that Dad rides a scooter…
•
u/Chuckleberry64 18h ago
Younger generations will never understand how instantly cool you became when you convinced your parents to buy a Razor scooter. Even gen X adults understood this and rode them to work as urban last mile transport options, in SUITS. I once bunny hopped one with my friend off of a .5 meter drop (approx. 3 ft). When soft wheel technology jumped the gap from longboards and roller blades to scooters, society as a whole benefited. Standard of living rose internationally. Name a better invention I dare you.

Brother you were living in an alternate reality. Anyone older than 15 riding a scooter was a dweeb

Three people at a skate park just accidentally created a core memory for a million strangers.

that was not smooth. That was a NASA-Level save

•
u/Unlikely_Bat_1890 18h ago
Nah. He wasn’t falling. Slow it down just before he losses the scooter. He intentionally removes his hands from the scooters and pushes himself off it. I believe this girls reactions were real and they weren’t expecting it. He just did great execution

I play roller derby and fall all the time, so I always try to convert my falls into poses. It’s like a reflex at this point. Helps me save face and feel less awkward, but more importantly it signals that I’m not hurt so no one has to worry. If I don’t pose as I land it’s because I really got really blown up or I’m injured.

Extremely impressive too when you consider that no one has ever looked cool on a razor scooter lmfao

I was gonna bag on the scooter (not a skateboard) but the guy got the big laugh on purpose so I 100% applaud that.

Did that hopping off the bow of our incoming boat onto the dock to tie up. Three cuties watched as my feet slid out from under me and I wound up on my arse looking up into their faces. Without missing a beat, I asked, "you're very attracted to me right now, aren't you?" They were not.

Scooters are skateboards with training wheels and you'll never convince me otherwise. Also, no helmet? How cool.
