Those kids sound like they aren't sleeping anytime soon 😂

i don’t have kids but i’ve heard dads are great at rustling up kids right before their bedtime

Dad here. Confirmed, it's like a reflex. Kiddo is chill and putting on pajamas? That's exactly when the dad monster attacks with tickles and wrastlen! Or worse yet kiddo knows ice cream is Dad's Achilles heel and asks to eat some and watch music videos together. I ain't saying no to that any night.

Pro tip: Always accept the ice cream and music videos time, and use it to educate them on actual good music going back decades.

Signed, the little girl who used to wake up in the middle of the night and wander to the living room where my dad was always up late and would do that exact same thing with me.

Never pass it up... it doesn't last forever. But knowing good music, and the memories attached to it, never goes away.

I miss my dad, we had a lot of nights like this. Back when Cartoon Network switched to old cartoons instead of Adult Swim, he realized I wanted to stay up to watch Roger Ramjet and Peabody and Sherman and he couldn't tell me no because he wanted to watch them too.

We'd spend our days and weekends watching MTV (when it had concerts and music videos) or drag racing (when it was funny cars and not funny queens) and just, talking about art and life and building stuff.

Definitely take the time while you have it.

I did all the exact same stuff with my dad and it's some of my favorite memories. Staying up way past my bedtime watching all kinds of car shows, racing, MTV (like you said), and even some reality tv - but not the garbage stuff, stuff like Gator Boys, Solitary, Fear Factor... stuff with more substance ya know? Plus waking up early on Saturdays and jumping into my parents' bed to watch Saturday cartoons and shows all day. The good old days... wish we could've known we were in them when they were happening....

Some of my favorite childhood memories probably involved my poor mom being very exasperated off on the side somewhere.

Yes and it drives me, mom, absolutely insane

For some reason bedtime takes twice as long when it's my days to do them. Never have figured out why. (Dad)
