Tutorial How to run Appimages: a guide withotu downloads or applications

  1. get Appfile
  2. go on propperties
    3; go to permissions
  3. click the checkmark that says "allow this thing to run"

thats it thats how you run appimages

$chmod u+x blahblah.AppImage

$./blahblah.AppImage

all it took for me was allowing it to run now im not afraid of app images anymore

Appreciate it, but honest question: What's the difference (in user terms, not technical) between packages, AppImages, and FlatPaks?

Get gearlever. Sets up appimages so they appear in the menu. Spend five minutes setting up the app information and gearlever can check for updates, download them, and set everything up for you.

already tried the one i found ran on gnome, my machine runs on mxlinux

I’m on MX as well. Gearlever works just fine.
