Monroe Community Media is a tiny team, we work locally, we don't do projects like this ever. But the love and support we have received is incredible.
Public access centers are suffering all across the country because folks don't watch cable anymore and funding is extremely hard to come by. It's not common knowledge just how METAL public access is!!!
The fact that we're non-profit and hyper-local means that we are not designed for global domination like other media outlets. We just want our neighbors to make tv shows about their farms, or their cats, or their home renovations, or whatever else they're passionate about. Media in the hands of the people-- that's our bread 'n butter.
We wanna express our love to The Late Show who brought all this attention to lil ole us and our hard-working team. Because of this project, we've raised $7,500 in donations already!
Be apart of the movement, donate to local media:

Long live public access y'all!

September 21, 2009: Obama’s first Letterman visit as a sitting president, just days after basic political decency officially left the building. That summer marked a turning point where shouting down the president and disruptive antics replaced debate. Obama handled it with trademark calm and humor, but looking back, this was the canary in the coal mine for everything that followed

Hi everyone! It’s me, your friendly neighborhood unemployed comic, Matt Lappin, here to shamelessly promote another show! This time in Hollywood, the land of lost dreams and gorilla costumes. I have posted clips of the previous show at the Bell House on my Tik Toc (Tac) if you’re interested - link here:

If you’re not in the area, we hope to get around to you someday! Like a shark I must keep joking or I die. Sharks are funnier than you think.
I hope you’re all well enough in this most unwell time! Stay strong. Stay silly. The devil cannot stand mockery. And that’s unfortunate because we know the devil shits himself on the reg. Hail Shatan! (Satan who shat himself = Shatan. It’s called math)
Love to all of youse,
🌀❤️
Matt

e’s always hated Letterman since this happened. Back on October 25, 2012, Donald Trump sat down on Late Show with David Letterman to rail against China taking American manufacturing jobs, only to get called out in real time when Dave checked the tags on his own Trump Collection shirts and ties—revealing they were made in China and Bangladesh.
To top it off, he predicted that by 2016 the country would completely fall off, which ended up being the exact year he won the presidency. You truly cannot write a better script.
Date: October 25, 2012

Remember when the whole “No Talarico on air” thing happened? At first, I thought this was just another instance of Paramount bending over, but maybe it was a good thing? I know that sounds weird (even feels weird thinking it), but Talarico’s popularity has exploded. Now I’m not saying this is the sole reason, I doubt it’s even in the top 5 reasons. There’s a lot to like about the guy, but there’s quite a few comments on the video saying “didn’t know the guy, now I’m donating and I’m not even in Texas.” I feel like a lot of people were driven to watch the interview on YouTube solely out of the situation around it. Plus, it’s not like a lot of political interviews on Colbert and other late night shows are collecting tons of views. Talarico’s has almost 10 million, he was only on once, and it was only six months ago. Idk, it was incredibly stupid for CBS to do, but can we honestly say the interview wouldn’t have topped 1.5 million views tops without it? And again, I’m not saying it’s the sole or even a very big reason. But I definitely think the situation may have helped him a bit. Stephen has a lot of sway. He’s been here for years and has interviewed a lot of really important and respected people. He’s a voice people trust.

The writers behind Stephen Colbert’s Late Show are in preparation mode for this year’s Emmy Awards, the award show’s host, Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, revealed in an interview with Deadline on Tuesday.
“I’m working with an incredible team of writers—the writers from Colbert,” she told the site. “We’ve been meeting a lot and discussing a lot and pitching a lot of ideas. We’re pitching so many ideas.”

This is a bit niche, but very accessible to all who have enjoyed the Late Show music. If you want some behind-the-scenes content about the music production at The Late Show and The Tonight Show, you will not regret listening to this very well produced podcast episode. Both shows are featured, but The Late Show much more, including some tidbits about the history and the final episode.

Also, as long as I’m posting here, lemme know what if any subjects interest you!
This is a reciprocal, emotional relationship!
Thanks for watching until we got canned! Thanks and love! Hope to see you on the 18th!

I think the best place for Stephen’s return would be guest host of SNL.
Season Premier would be optimal . I wonder if Lorne would do it ?
Would Stephen do it without something to promote ?
Would Comcast be worried about pissing off Trump?
Must be on Lornes list of #1 hiring misses (I know a writer )

In one episode from the last year or two, there was an offhand comment about Colbert looking like a sandwich with glasses, and then it showed a still image of, well, a sandwich with glasses, or possibly a Hawaiian dinner roll with glasses. Stephen laughed and then turned his head to get as close to how the sandwich looked in the image as he could.
I've been trying to find that the last couple of days with basic web searches and poking around YouTube for it, but not having much luck. Anyone know what episode that's in?
