Hey all, posted recently asking about my itinerary, but had a more specific question. Was planning to visit lake George 10/13-16 (the weekdays after Columbus Day). I’m just learning that the LG village basically shuts down after Columbus Day?? Wanted to know to what extent? Will we feel like we’re in a ghost town? We figured it would be a peak time to go for the foliage but we’re wondering if we should change our trip to the week prior. I’m just unclear to what extent the area “shuts down”. Like will we not be able to find places to eat? Will we be more or less some of the only people there? Or is it busier than the internet makes it sound because of the foliage?

Hey all, I am planning our first every trip with our baby to Lake George. She will be 5 months at the time. We are thinking of going October 13-16. Wanted to share my proposed itinerary and get some feedback. Also had some questions which I'll pose at the end of the post.

• Day 1:
  • Driving up from Albany area (after visiting family).
  • Visit Sunnyside Gardens near Saratoga Springs for fall themed activities/pictures of baby at pumpkin patch
  • Arrive to Lake George late afternoon, get settled, possibly hang out at Shepard Park
  • Dinner then bed
    
• Day 2:
  • Drive to Bolton's Landing. Enjoy Roger's Memorial Park, get lunch
  • Continue on to Sabbath Day Point overlook.
  • Up Yonda Farm (this is a tentative activity depending on how baby is doing)
  • Back to hotel in LG Village to relax then dinner and sleep
• Day 3:
  • Drive to Prospect Mountain with all 3 overlook stops and potentially the 1/4 mile hike to the summit while baby wearing (is this feasible?)
  • Fall Foliage 1 hour boat tour in the afternoon
  • Relax at hotel / walk around LG Village, then dinner and sleep

Questions for the group:

1. Does this pacing sound okay? I am unsure how long each of these activities will take, especially with a 5 month old in toe.
2. Better to consolidate and do this all in 2 nights or leave as 3 nights?
3. Any additional activities you would suggest?
   
4. We are planning on staying in the LG Village: deciding between Courtyard Marriot or Marine Village Resort. Any recommendations?
5. We are going the week of Oct 13th - should I expect some foliage or is that a week too early?

Where can I get professional teeth whitening done? Preferably laser

Spending the week on the lake and while out the water the other day we were diverted, since there is a showing filming. Doesn't seem like a major disruption, but it is kind of cool that this going on, and hopefully good for the local businesses. The show is called "The God of the Woods", definitely want to check it out once it is released.

I need to know. I think I might be hallucinating because I keep seeing him. If he’s real, I’m worried about him.

Edit: can anyone tell me who he is though? Is he a local? Or visiting?

I’ll be driving to Lake George along this route next weekend. I want to follow the 50 mile firewood rule and won’t have much extra time so I’m looking for input ahead of time.

Ask: If you know of any roadside firewood sellers where I could pickup some bundles of wood and leave cash at 7 AM, would you be kind enough to share the approximate address please?

Lots of mixed reviews on this one.. My hometown area is Lake George, I’m looking to spend a weekend getaway for Labor Day.

I’ve never heard of the Fran Cove but it has a lower price than most of the area but with 75% positive reviews and 25% very VERY negative.

Family of 4 looking to rent a pontoon boat for fishing and tubing. Should we stick to Lake George or look at others like Loon Lake which seem to have slightly less expensive boat options.

Hi all! I’m planning a week long trip to the area in October with my husband and toddler and need recommendations on allergy friendly restaurants for my toddler who has a severe egg allergy. I already plan to bring his breakfast and lunches to ease the concerns we have, but would like to avoid having to bring dinners as well. I’m hoping that because it won’t be peak season more restaurants will be able to accommodate us, but I’m still nervous. Does anyone have any recommendations or prior experience that could help guide me? I don’t mind going to the same restaurant a few times if that’s all we can find! I appreciate any help I get! Hey there I’m visiting lake George this Tuesday/ wensday I’m 22 looking for anybody who wants to hike wensday morning for a sunrise!

Planning a trip with several families with young children 8 yrs to infant and several 1-2 year olds. Having a hard time understanding what to prioritize. Of course of the budget were unlimited we could have it all. But do we book a big house where we could just drive in to lake george area for the day for activities? Some houses even have a pool in our price range maybe 15 min drive or so away. Do we want water and mountain views? Do we want beach access on site or walking distance and care less about the house? Many waterfront homes have a dock but I worry about how tough that might be with the littles. Beach access if much safer. Many resorts will have a big house option where we could potentially book 2-3 houses/cottages next to each other and still have all the fun kids amenities. The issue is those places have very outdated sites where I have to select exact dates to look up availability or some just aren’t even booking yet for august and I’m afraid to wait as it’s already slim pickins. For reference we are looking for 1 week in Aug 2027. Any advice for a first timer? TIA!

Ideally looking for an established band with a consistent lineup, not a rotating group of hired musicians. Musically, we’re looking for a mix of funk, R&B/soul, Phish, Grateful Dead and other groove-heavy music that can keep a wedding crowd dancing.

Hi all - will be in town next week Sat-Tuesday. Looking at the weather, it seems really chilly in the morning and evenings and only getting up to 74 for the high on Sunday.

Planning to bring layers for the morning/evening but wondering if it will be warm enough for the pool/lake in general. Mid-70's sounds super pleasant but maybe not jump in the lake all day weather?

It's my first time going since I was a kid and will be with my 7 year old. Was planning water activities for the most part but may need to start planning some alternatives if it's going to be chilly.

I’m looking for things for my family (ages 25-48) to do around the area and I was wondering if adults would enjoy this spot as well.

We’re a group of kids at heart and go karts and laser-tag would be right up our alley. Plus I’m looking for something to do in case it rains

We’re planning on spending a few days mid week in September. How easy is it to rent a boat for a few hours? Do they give a quick run down on how to operate the boats?

Besides the public launch at Million Dollar, what others are nearby that can be used even if I have to pay? Also maybe trailer parking for a week while there but not a deal breaker. Thanks
