My background is a bit unusual, which is why I teach a pretty wide range of subjects. I have worked in technology, banking, business operations, customer service, consumer products, hospitality, education, and fitness. I hold a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Business Information Technology, and I’ve also spent years teaching, tutoring, and coaching young people.

My approach is pretty simple: I want learners to understand what they are learning, not just memorize answers. I try to keep classes conversational, practical, respectful, and enjoyable.

s a teacher, through my experience with my students, I’ve found that children often respond better when they experience a letter in different ways: recognizing and coloring it, learning where each stroke starts and ends, tracing and writing it, exploring words that begin with it, and finding it among other letters — both on paper and through play.

That’s the approach I used when designing this worksheet.

The goal isn’t to give children more worksheets or simply repeat the same exercise. It’s to let them work with the same letter through several meaningful activities, each focusing on a different skill: recognizing it, forming it, connecting it with words, and distinguishing it from other letters.

Hi everyone! I’m an independent developer and I’ve created Funimals, a free educational app for children around ages 4–12.

The idea is to combine learning about animals with activities that children can enjoy while practicing different skills.

Kids can discover animals and listen to their sounds, play animal puzzles and memory games, and practice math and multiplication through challenges and daily tasks.

The app currently supports English, Turkish and Spanish. It’s free and available on Android, with an iOS version in development.

We’ve created Tippy and Lobo’s Adventures, a free YouTube channel for children and families. Each episode follows Tippy, a rabbit, and Lobo, a young wolf, as they build an unexpected friendship while exploring animals, nature, curiosity, and kindness.

The accompanying website includes transcripts, coloring pages, activities, and resources for parents and teachers. These can support read-aloud time, discussion, vocabulary, drawing, and early nature learning—and may also be useful for homeschool families.

For those actively involved in your kids' learning (homeschooling or teaching your school going kids) — I'm building an app for 6-12 year old kids to build general knowledge, current affairs awareness,  critical thinking etc. It has features to encourage drawing, activities, writing your daily life etc. I plan to use scientific rewarding techniques to encourage habit building and learning. I am thinking of naming it CarrotMinds. Does that name sound credible for something educational, or does it come across as too playful/cutesy for a learning tool? Genuinely trying to figure out if it does not convey the substance of what the app does.

I have a background in electrical engineering, 5+ years of experience running engineering and science programs for youth, and 10+ years of experience working with children.
