Holy shit I just checked and this is a real lyric. It goes on:
"...tight pants, switchin' their hips, paintin' their nails So niggas from the Ville had to"
•
u/pinobutter99 Feb 06 '26
"had to distance ourselves" Tbf the full context is he's talking about how he stopped associating with a friend because they were gay and they died before he made peace with them so the song isn't bad but just funny out of context

Damn that’s like how I fucked my gay friend and his mom walked in on her son taking it doggystyle and then killed herself a month or two later…
And since our third “best friend” told everyone in our small town in the Deep South about us suckin and fuckin, my friend had to leave town bc his life was literally at risk (I was making the rounds with every Mexican girl with a booty I possibly could, before, after, and at the time, so I wasn’t really “outed” as “gay”, just as a “maybe-bi drug addict weirdo”—but he was straight up gay so he was literally in danger where we lived)….
Years later I found out he kept ending up in jail, he was sleeping in his car, etc….i wanted to get back in touch after I got off heroin and was trying to repair my relationships across the board…. Our “friend” who outed the guy I experimented with didn’t even know where he was, despite them going back as close friends their entire lives into early adulthood….
So I heard from some woman I didn’t even know that he was killed (possibly murdered tbh) in a hit-and-run in another super backwards town down south…they literally found his corpse in the street at a crosswalk the morning after….
I still feel guilty all these years later that I didn’t get back in touch and become a supportive part of his life…. I’ve cried so much thinking about if I’d been there for him, even not in-person… idk if I’ll ever forgive myself for the way everything went down….
So, I’m not the biggest J Cole fan, but Jesus, that hits home……
/rj lol haha dead person
……😭

Jesus fuck hope you’re alright man

I’m very much not alright, but this is a very very very small fraction of it. Like, it’s practically not a contributing factor. But when it comes up I can get extra fucked up about it. So, thanks! I appreciate it.

Bro go to therapy
•
u/Pigeonorium Al Gore invented ebonics Feb 08 '26 edited Feb 08 '26
1) therapy is not accessible for heroin substitution patients in the country in which I reside. It is the national medical opinion, and policy, that people in drug addiction treatment cannot receive therapy, because they are considered too inebriated to benefit from therapy. Regarding inebriation, I haven’t been able to feel my substitution medication since the first few months—and I’m over five years in, without a single relapse on heroin. My doctor-prescribed-and-administered medication is considered equivalent to shooting heroin by the therapy community here, despite having no psychoactive effect on me as of 5+ years ago. So there’s that.
2) I’m a fucking recovering heroin addict who can barely afford to eat and keep intact clothes on my body: where exactly do you suggest I get flowing sacks of cash to pay for this therapist who, again, as national policy, will not see me because I’m still in treatment? Do you have several thousand euros to PayPal/cashapp me so I can get maybe 1/2-1 year worth of therapy from some online racket like “Better Help”? I’ll even try that shit if you’ve got a solution for me.
3) What the fuck is your point here? That opening up about grief for a deceased friend, when reminded very specifically about their loss, means I’m sick in the head? Did I miss a memo? I guess I wasn’t CC’d in the “grieving for lost friends is now a telltale sign of mental illness” email.
4) Have you ever lost a friend or loved one in a tragic way? Do you simply lack empathy? How about instead of playing armchair therapist for people you’ve never met, you just try to respond like a human being? Or, if you lack that capacity, just keep your wack, flippant comments to yourself? Do you skulk around graveyards telling people visiting grave sites to go to therapy?
FOH with that bullshit. I’m very clearly not in the mood. Maybe don’t drop trite, reductive one liners on strangers you know nothing about when they’re being vulnerable—a therapist could tell you, actually, that getting heavy feelings off your chest can be therapeutic, even outside of a “professional” therapy session.
Sorry we can’t all be emotionless drones. When you actually care about people, you get sad sometimes. So, newsflash. Maybe tone down the hostility towards natural human emotion, and try and examine if you’ve got any of it buried deep down.
If you by a miracle find some, and you feel like getting some off your chest, feel free to reach out. I promise I won’t reduce your emotional pain to an opportunity to deride you if you feel you could use a moment of vulnerability.
Asshole.

Therapy is good. Forget the negative connotations.
•
u/Pigeonorium Al Gore invented ebonics Feb 09 '26
It’s got nothing to do with connotations, wise guy. As I said, if it were an option, I’d give it a fourth or fifth try. But as clearly outlined in my comment, it is literally inaccessible to me for reasons completely out of my control.
If you’re gonna respond to me, at least read what I’ve written. You’re just coming off as either incapable of reading comprehension, or being dense, and it seems, purposefully obtuse to boot.
•
u/soulsmores Feb 09 '26
Well you're claiming to have no access to a therapiat but completely dismissing Better Help as an "online racket"
•
u/Pigeonorium Al Gore invented ebonics Feb 28 '26
It is absolutely an online racket lmfao legitimate medical services don’t sponsor podcasts and YouTube channels
•
u/Strict_Protection459 Feb 08 '26
Bro I don’t want to read another essay about your personal life, I didn’t subscribe to this newsletter. Your moods really got nothing to do with anything
Good luck to ya tho player

Then get the fuck off Reddit. People share stuff about their lives on here. Can’t bare to see someone be sad bc you’re afraid you might catch being-a-human-itis? You could just scroll by; nobody gave you the Clockwork Orange treatment with my comment. Clearly some 120 people read it and didn’t feel the urge to act a cunt. It’d seem that it’s a you problem.
Good luck to you too. We all reach adulthood at our own pace; i promise it’ll be ok when you get there.
