Old people (and also you know, most racists) will say shit like "Kids these days only listen to songs about sex, money and drugs" like those haven't been primary topics of music for over a century, and arguably most of human musical history if you want to get into the nitty gritty. Unless you're out here exclusively listening to hymns, saying that shit is just hypocritical.
Even murder in music. That shit has a deep history. Plenty of European pub songs (most contemporarily, Irish songs about The Troubles), Bluegrass songs, Country/Western songs, Jazz songs and Blues songs, describe killing everyone from civilians who scorned them, to outlaws and cops/invaders.
So why can these people never tell me a solid reason as to why rap is so much worse than those?

Oldheads will tell you that old school rappers were real gangsters who did what they rapped about and then tell you that modern rap is bad because it's all about sex, money and drugs. In reality it's the opposite too, most of these "hardcore gangster" rappers they like were mostly studio gangsters

It's actually a huge misconception that that type of outright language is new to music. It's just that government censorship was much stricter.
Plenty of ragtime, blues and Jazz music was more explicit than something such as WAP. A good example is Lucille Bogan's "Til The Cows Come Home" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lykHxGxtcTo
