Discussion Rule Discussion - Hockey vs Hockey Culture
Hello y'all, It's been a while since I made one of these posts. I'm a big fan of us (mod team) consulting the sub to make sure we are on the same page.
I'm curious about having a conversation with the sub about some of the ways I feel we don't always represent the sub, specifically in a pretty specific way we mod that isn't clearly reflected in the rules.
We don't include anything about sexualization in the rules but I find we do remove a handful of creepy comments from time to time that technically don't fit Rule 1 but we interpret within it. Like any social media, whenever a picture of a woman gets posted, there's a handful of comments that sexualize the image even when it's poster had no intention of that being done. An example being recently where someone posted their daughter's dorm room and a few posters chose to comment on the looks of his youngish looking daughter (it creeped me out). Another example is that any picture of the wives of hockey players has the same creepy comments that sexualize them even when it's not contextually relevant to do so.
We are never going to be a sub that allows hockey cosplays or OF type promotions but we are also not exactly going to shut down meaningful, depth inducing conversation because it has sexual connections to it (Mailloux draft conversations being an example).
I also know that it could be rough to be a woman on the sub if every post featuring women features comments like 'that ass tho" "Nice đ on her... đ„”" "Â don't know much about hockey or decor, but I do know that your daughter will be passed around at a frat house rager just before midterms marks are released. This will be followed up by her running a train on the basketball team...(frick, this comment goes on a lot more, it got grosser)" "meme of a man drooling" "oh hubba hubba daddy likey... who is this lil foxy minx in the middle with the short hair... meow meow hubba hubba daddy likey lotta cheeze whiz" "Difficult to know who the biggest tits are" "Hooters, hooters...yum yum yum.Hooters, hooters...on a girl that's dumb."
Those comments are just from 2 posts, I left a lot out too. I get that the sub has more men then women posting on it and that adult content will always have a place but some of those comments creeped me out.
So my question to the sub is, where do you want us to draw the line? We dont want to go overboard with modding but at the same time, we don't want to be a place that attracts creeps. Should we have a more formal rule or is it just self-explanatory that you shouldn't be a creep?

Habs jerseys as prizes on the Jersey Shore
So I live in NJ, and today I was down the shore or as most Non-New Jerseyans would call it 'I went to the beach'. While walking down the boardwalk I saw that one of the booths which has various sports jerseys that can be won as a prize had Slafkovsky, Demidov and Suzuki jerseys as prizes along with other various (mostly local) team players.
NEVER HAVE I SEEN THIS BEFORE IN MY LIFE...
Times they are a changin'!!!

Prospects Zharovsky 2pts today! First, he threw on the slot, when Shcherbakov scored. And then he beautifully passed to Shipachyov for the third goal. We are waiting for the club's top 3 scorers!

Where can i watch the rebuild S3 from europe?
I'm from Poland, and i would love to pay to watch it legally, but unfortunately it's not available in Poland at all. Is there a way for me to watch it, with English subtitles?

How to watch The Rebuild S3 outside of Canada?
I have watched Episode 1 on Youtube using a VPN, but can't get episode 2. I have watched the first 2 seasons last year and the year before on the high seas, but it hasn't updated for S3 and probably won't for a while. I'd love to watch all of S3 right before the season opener vs. Toronto on the 29th.
Anyone know how to watch outside of Canada? In the US specifically?... I would love just to get a subscription with Crave and enjoy their other content as well, but not only is it only available in Canada, you also have to have a Canadian address or bank account to even sign up.

[OC] I create printable season trackers for each team, here's ours!
Salut!
I create printable season trackers, for us and every other team.
A better resolution is available on Imgur (too big for Reddit): https://imgur.com/a/canadiens-season-tracker-2026-2027-HhQUxMn
I created 2 versions. The first one groups games by opponent, and the second shows games in chronological order. Each square includes the date and game number. Grey squares are home games.
I use 3 colors for mine (see 3rd image): green for wins, red for regulation losses, and orange for OT/SO losses. Feel free to print whichever version you prefer and fill it out however you like!
Bonne saison!

Ken Dryden story from Dave Hodge
Kenny left us one year ago today, just so happens Dave Hodge told a story last week that sums up his attitude. He was the most cerebral goaltender I think who will ever play the game and the calm, belief in his confidence was off the charts.
Time stamped the story and I'll add the transcript below. Rest well #29
No, it it it would follow if we had a script uh for for me to be asked about the interview that I remember most. And uh I I used to tell the story of interviewing Ken Dryden in the in the in the intermission and people went, "What are you what are you talking about? Goalies doing an interview in the intermission."
Yes, it used to happen. Uh, and I used to tell the story of Ken letting letting in a goal in the final minute of the of the period at Maple Leaf Gardens on like a six bouncer from center ice. And I thought, well, there goes the interview.
He's not coming in now. But sure enough, he showed up. I thought that was nice of him. And now the pressure was on me. Uh, I couldn't ignore what had just happened. How was I going to address it?And so I welcomed the audience back after the commercial. Uh thank Ken Dryden for sitting beside me and said, "Is that the worst feeling a goalie can have?" And he said, "Not even close."
I said, "Please explain." And he said, "Here's my explanation. The next 99 or 999 of those I will stop when a 30 foot blazing wrist from the slot just gets over my glove because I didn't get my glove up in time. I start to wonder whether that's going to happen the next time and the next time and after that maybe I'm losing it. That's the worst feeling a goalie can have. What just happened is not going to stay with me at all.
