There was a 10 minute period in that first half where we were in absolute full flow. Chelsea’s heads were completely spun out from the level of movement and passing.

The way we responded to their goal by just popping it about and going full tilt at them was the mentality of champions and a team that knows they are the absolute bollocks. The crowd could feel it too, stayed with the team even when a few chances were missed.

I was definitely aggravated at Kai at this early stage for dwelling on the ball too long in this sequence and then trying too many flicks, but he 100% fixed it and was one of our best performers overall by the end.

It's not that we can't play free-flow football, it's that we usually play against low-block team and without our most creative players most of last season (Odegaard, Kai, Saka,...). Once they can play together, they will always produce the best football you 've ever seen

I just wish he recognized better when it is time to let go off the ball. He is a strong dude and can ride off challenges but he sometimes gets carried away and turns the ball over unnecessarily.

Need to map those escape routes in advance, so when he get pressed by multiple players, pass the ball to open man

Not in this episode. There was one episode in 2nd half where he got under pressure and was able to fend it off, but instead of passing the ball, he continued dribbling and turned the ball over in front of our box. I will share a clip if I find one.

Think there was no angle for final ball to Saka, I think Martin picked it up and cross to Kai which led to a header but I think it went out of play or saved easily by Martinez

Nothing came of it, in hindsight I think Ode shouldn’t have passed immediately because he was off balance, wrong weight of pass, it slowed Kai and let Chelsea back in.

If he managed to take a touch, control in front of him and take a step forward, he would’ve opened up better angles for both Kai and Saka to take it on the run

I feel like our counterattacks are mainly based on quick passing to feet which opens up attackers that are unmarked. To go to another level we do need someone who can also make good off the ball runs so the ball goes straight running towards goal or a that winger who can really drive towards goal fast.
