Discussion Re-playing Genshin with another sibling

I’ve been playing since v1 with Lumine. Thinking of creating other account and playing it from zero with Aether in parallel. Anyone done it? is it fun or dreadful?

Its largely the same. Fun or Dreadful depends heavily on how much you enjoy repetitive tasks. You'll have to go through all the archon quests again

Created a new account to olay alongside my newbie friend back then in mid Sumeru. Stopped playing on that account just before Fontaine released because my friend already caught up to my main account.

It's tedious

I have replayed a few times, and actually started a new account just two weeks ago!

This time has been quite fun, I basically sprinted to Snezhnaya in order to unlock Exaiphanes Blade so I could main Cryo Traveler. I chose Qiqi as the free 5-star, and of course also got Alyosha from the Snezhnaya quest, and then got a lucky Ororon on the standard banner, so my team has felt pretty strong from the start. There's an interesting additional bit of progression now because Exaiphanes Blade gets upgraded for free when reaching certain AR.

Hyperbloom is also still very strong for early game, so that's another option early on since you can get Dendro Traveler, Lisa, Barbara, Collei, and a Favonius Bow all for free. And there's also just something fun about traveling all the way to Sumeru on foot at low levels.

I think it's overall fun because the overworld exploration gameplay is my favorite part of the game, and it really feels like a new experience to play it again with new characters. This account is actually intended to be a Vesna main account, I've already saved up 154 wishes so it should be pretty much guaranteed by 7.1 release.

You do have to have a lot of patience though, there's a lot of long dialogue scenes and cutscenes you can't avoid, especially if you want to go to Inazuma.

not entirely. :) I’m doing this really tedious work project that gives me like 15 min breaks every 15 min. I can’t do much in those 15 min so I’m playing video games, and Genshin doesn’t have time constraints for the play.

tried a couple times, didn't work. I can't see Aether as the Traveler, it feels weird.

I can't see lumine as the traveler, it doesn't feel normal to mee 😭

guess it's normal, we get used to our first choice 😆

I keep thinking that his interactions with Paymon would feel like Peter Pan and Tinkerbell to me, which would weird me out

Whatever anyone who has already done it once says, you can't really consider it, because We've got like 8 nations of which some also have sub regions. Each Nation has archon quests worth double digit hours of content and sitting through it is gonna leave you braindead if you've already done it once.

Oh yeah, you can’t fast forward archon narratives, I forgot

Done the reverse almost 2 years ago: was playing with Aether since beginning and I created an alt account with Lumine. It really doesn't change much to the story, so to keep things interesting I made it a no pull account (no pull at all, only the free characters given as reward or anniversary, only craftable or event weapons, etc.).

Have to say that this account is kind of a mess story wise as, in order to get rewards from limited time events, I often have to force start AQ I have not reached yet normally XD

I mean you already have the Traveler with the higher Charged Attack talent values lol (Aka: I don't think it will offer much)

I could never do the Sumeru Aranananana quests again. 😫 As much as I love Genshin, if anything ever happened to my account, I genuinely don’t think I could slog through that again.

I had a vague memory of it, but now that you mentioned it I remember that there was so much talking and waiting, enough to make a cup of coffee in between

I had an alt, it was fun to relive the parts you enjoyed, I had blast re-exploring early regions and certain moments in the story.

After a while though you start dreading it if you're still keeping up with your og account. Especially with Genshin compared to other gachas because there's no skip button, having to sit through dialogue you've experienced not long ago for the nostalgia to kick in is tiring.

Events also give at max 3 weeks for redoing them on your other account, so I don't recommend keeping up with both long term. Maybe when your sibling reaches a certain AR go back to your main.

It's fun to play aether and lumine as the abyss princess is so GOAT like she was meant to be the abyss twin
