GEICO is Hell.
GEICO is the worst place to work. I tried to cope by pretending everything is bad but this is literally hell. Whenever I get PTO I instantly use it. Managers are all liars and they will say whatever they can to keep you motivated. I'm going to put in my 2 weeks and apply to a different company.
You guys were right.

Coming from someone who worked there over a decade and left. Here’s my 2 cents: you will start off in training and if you end up with a good sup, they’ll fight for you.. and if you put your head down and work you’ll thrive. The problem will come down to the micromanagement and the mental fatigue. You will burn out.
In any call center type job, the better you are, the more you do. And the more you do the more you’ll see the flaws in the system. Lack of training, peers getting away with murder, the dopamine loss and the moral hit of pushing things on people who may not need it (mostly sales but service as well telling people to buy renters, ID, etc.) And that will only increase over time. The reward is some nice bonus money.
The fall: you will burn out and wake up with a sense of never ending dread about even working there.. there’s no more rush from doing a good job. No more growth. No more wanting to help your customers or your peers because there’s no “reward” for it.. only the next call.
Office space said it best:
Peter Gibbons:” Eight, Bob. So that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled; that, and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.”
And that’s the thing. You’ll eventually lose a large part of yourself and any sense of “doing a good job” Put your head down. Earn some good money and after a few years when that numbing lack of accomplishment begins to set in, start your look for somewhere new.

Maybe I'll stick with it for a little bit longer. I've ran businesses before but never made the kind of money I make here, yet I was 10x more fulfilled because I set the rules

lol. Y'all are just shitty employees. I don't want to be mean, but Geico does things like use ADA time and gives people opportunities to always work from home. I wish you well in your endeavors but as someone who's been here for five years and is thriving, sometimes it's us we need to look at.

No, they are denying ADA’s especially wfh ones! They do not want you working from home at all but only have what’s in place now because they lied to us and said if we were at least a 3, we could wfh and then after the pandemic, switched up on us so they came up with this so many hours a year you can wfh to appease us.

I'm going to be 💯. You need your documents in order to work from home full time. Full time work from home hasn't been a company thing since 2022. You need to make sure your doctor isn't messing you up.

I would suggest holding onto your job. GEICO is actually a great place to work, and they have two call centers where they are testing new ways to handle employee productivity and quality assurance—one being in Tampa, Florida, and I don’t remember the other location. Based on your feedback, and with your team’s efforts, Temple has gone from crawling to walking and is now headed towards the finish line. So, hang in there if you can. Great changes are coming.

It amazes me how everyone is always quick to point blame but never what could I have done better etc. last time I checked, there are major layoffs across multiple major business industries one which includes insurance, so the question truly becomes; Are we just like the next person or what can we do to add to our résumé, our qualifications, our experience to give our employer a reason to keep us. I think that is where the industry is shifting, and we need to wake up since a lot of processes are being automated with the help of AI and tech advances. We need to get on board fast otherwise it’ll be too late.

On the one hand, GEICO sucks.
On the other hand, unemployment is even worse.
