Translator long hold time.

Good lord did GEICO layoff the translator service line too? I was on hold trying to get a translator for over 10 minutes. I finally had to tell the ph to follow up in the morning. Also wtf is with all these all call cadence this entire week….

the translator line makes me incredibly pissed some days. aside from the wait i speak spanish just not proper enough to go to somos which also means i can understand a bit of portuguese

the translators are not translating what we say verbatim they will usually leave big blocks of info out that the ph needs to hear it's infuriating

Ahh, remembering back in the day in the Woodbury office, CSR, they put a supervisor who spoke portuguese on the spanish line. So many of the calls would go to him. We'd try to call the spanish line, Eduardo would pick up. And he'd get mad that we'd call him, because he didn't speak spanish, and the callers would tell me "no spanish line, that guy don't speak spanish", but what else were we supposed to do??? IIRC, it took weeks to get that fixed.

I’ve really never had a problem with the language line. I use it multiple times a day. What number are you calling?

Omg same!! Waited almost 15 min and I’m sure the ph was getting annoyed bc she was transferred to me from an agent who warned me in advance that the translator line took forever to come on. It’s very frustrating!!

I have a confession. I haven’t used the translator service in years, got tired of doing it. I tell people to find someone who can interpret for them. They want money bad enough they’ll find someone.

You do realize just how much insurance jargon is involved in even a basic policy conversation right? Someone could live here and learn English for 10+ years and still find it much easier to speak with an interpreter to discuss something like "Will my comprehensive claim lead to a surcharge on my renewal". Immigrants are the backbone of this country, and getting an interpreter on the line is hardly an inconvenience compared to the ten thousand whining boomers lined up one after another
