I got the orange and white colourway blank in a grab-bag blanks order and it immediately reminded me of our pirate orange, O.C. (Orange Cream). I wanted to make my wife a fountain pen to test the kit for me, so I decided to combine the kit and blank into a unique one for her.

Well, almost all the way through turning the pen something told me to stop and check on my progress, and I found a giant void in the cap that was about to blow the blank apart. I was trying to figure out how I moved forward, when I got the idea "hey, I have some gold/bronze and black mica! I think I can mix it with some CA, and add his eye to the pen of him!" Et voila. O.C. has his own custom edition fountain pen he lets his mom use.

When she can cap them, that’s when I worry.

Big Orange Boy.

She's been with us a week today! Adopted from a local cat cafe, via an animal shelter. She has white fur all over, especially on her tail and behind. I hope she keeps those. Shelter called her a domestic medium hair, and she is super soft, and does seem to have longish fur, which I also hope she keeps. The pen is safe, she batted it twice, then snuggled up on my chest for a little nap. She's so good with Elle, who plays with her and follows her around. If I catch them both on my desk, I'll share. Fountain pen is a Visconti Comedia - Paradiso.

Kii loves doing a sniff test whenever i use a different pen. i don’t really smell a distinct smell among my inks since non of them are scented but Kii, a smell expert, does.

he is processing the smells from the Montegrappa Zero inked with the Wet Pen Diablo lake.

I guess she has a thing for Pilot Iroshizuku and FWP inks 🤔. I appreciate the versatility.

Cataloging the ink sample pile. Can you believe out of 100+ samples, only 4 were repeats? I rinsed out a vial that had its contents consolidated to another and put some paper confetti inside, successfully creating the decoy vial for thieving kitties.

I was instructed to get her a selection of pens to start working….

Metal case passed inspection. It spins enough to be fun, but not enough to fly off the table.

I actually don’t have many photos of him with my pens because he likes to play soccer with them so I don’t let him near them if I can help it. But if you look closely, you will see two or three fountain pens and some ink samples in the last photo.
