After a year of researching 4x4 platforms on the market in general for my use case(desert off roading) it only made sense I get a raptor.

Thanks to everyone here that answered my question over the last few months!

Ceramic tints done today and next up will be some ditch lights and try to upgrade the cameras if possible. I found they’re pretty bad quality imo.

Hey everyone!

After wanting a Raptor for years, I’m officially in the club! Picked up this 2018 Ruby Red beast and I’m absolutely loving it so far. She’s loud, she’s mean, and she’s everything I hoped a Raptor would be. 😂

Happy to finally call myself a Raptor owner! Looking forward to learning from you guys and seeing everyone’s trucks. 🤘

Picked this up. Certified gold Gen 3. Flew out to Northern Colorado to pick it up and drove it back to southern Arizona. Great trip with the wife and daughter. Love it so far. On the way home the door keyless entry pad blew off. Into the dealer Tuesday.

Hopefully the next few miles go better. Happy to finally join the club.

Temporary Bike Rack For Bed Mad Out of Wood - $40

Post image
Upvotes

While I wait for bed racks and 1up bike racks to show up, I made a temporary bike rack out of wood for the bed. I've always loved this design after seeing a friend years ago made one out of 2x12s and tight enough to pinch the wheel and really keep bikes secure. It's by far the easiest load/unload for bikes I've seen and great for getting to the local park. I had to push it back 16" to account for the Retrax canister. The bottom supports are 2x10 and go under the Retrax canister and are flush against the back side of the bed. The top frame is just 2x4 to pinch the tires as high up as possible and keep the bikes surprisingly stable. The top frame fits snug against the wheel wells and strapped to the OEM lower-front hooks in the bed to keep secure. I run a ratchet strap on the rear hooks through the frames just in case bikes want to fly off the truck. It's light enough to easily remove and slim enough to stash away outside of the bed.

I have a feeling I'm going to use this far more than the bed racks with 1up racks for the local trips just because it's so easy to load/unload bikes.

K03 LT315 /70 R17 121S D2 RWL Impressions

Just got BFG K03 LT315 /70 R17 121S D2 RWL

I came from stock KO2’s that had about 7/32 left.

Initial impressions:

- Much quieter on the highway (most notable)
- Load range D surprising feel slightly softer the stock C’s
- Less “floating” on gravel at higher speeds
- Way more traction in general

So far they’re an upgrade in every way. Excited to see the rain, snow, and off-roading performance here soon.

Gen 3 Raptor, checked my oil and according to the dipstick it should be good as it is between the 2 indentations. The gauge is reading low? Yes or No?

2018 F-150 Raptor Sunroof Reset

Upvotes

Hi y'all, I've been googling and researching to the best of my abilities but I'm at a loss. The short story is I recently bought this thing knowing the sunroof wasn't in it's best state, quickly spotted the track arms were out of sync so I loosened the motor and realigned the arms. Went to do the initialization but it kept grinding and wouldn't finish the initialization properly, probably due to the grinding. After some fiddling around with the buttons and trying to somehow make it initialize/calibrate, the buttons went unresponsive for both sunroof and shade. Did some more googling and figured the motors for the sunshade and sunroof are the same, thinking the sunshade would've seen much less miles than the sunroof I decided I'd give it a shot and swap the motors around just to get it calibrated somehow. Swapped motors but the buttons are still unresponsive, fuses seem to be intact.

Any good ideas? It doesn't seem to even try to start the calibration process.

Oil overfill

Just got my 2019 Raptor back from getting Cam phasers replaced 2 days ago. Have driven about 300 miles since then and noticed a ticking/knocking. You can hear it here but sound is much louder when you get down underneath truck/in fender wells. Checked the dipstick after truck has sat for 15 min and seems it is also way overfilled. I have not noticed any problems functionally/driving, just the sound. Does this sound like injectors or normal ecoboost noises and the oil being overfilled is a coincidence? Planning to drain it and see how much comes out, also worried if I drain it before I get it back into the shop Tuesday they will claim the oil levels are correct now and they did not overfill it. Thoughts? If I have not noticed any engine issues is it possible I escape without permanent damage after I drain and fill correct amount?

Exterior and interior conditions don’t look bad at all for the miles it has. Raptor has been my dream truck and my original plan is to get a higher mileage 19-20 for around 30k-35k cash. I’ve been told by multiple people to stay away from these eco boost.

Slightly surprised at towing capability

[2019 802A w/ 143k (wow)] First post here! Have had this thing for about 2 years and hauled plenty in the bed but hadn’t towed yet until yesterday. 22hr round trip straight, 5am-3am. Was a little nervous due to too much reading online honestly, the necessity of WDH and other various towing recommendations were in my mind on the way but I didn’t feel like I needed any of it when I pulled of the lot with this ~6500 lb load. Ended up at ~11.8 mpg avg according to the truck. Definitely the heaviest thing I’ve personally pulled and felt like the truck hardly sighed it at! Still surprised my cam phaser job hasn’t had any issues lol, and sorry if towing pics are out of style again

Transmission jerk

Upvotes

I’m starting to feel a slight jerk in 4th gear. Should I take it in now or is this normal with the 10 speed. It’s more pronounced in sport mode. Would warranty cover this? Gen 2 raptor if that helps. Thanks everyone

My Mode/Damper Settings Not Available

Upvotes

Just purchased a used 2025 F-150 Raptor only 12,500 miles. I’ve had it for about a month. A few days into driving it, I tried to set it to R mode, or my mode, and it said it wasn’t available. I couldn’t change the damper settings. It seemed to fix itself before I got home so I didn’t really worry too much. It just did it again. This time the suspension isn’t riding smoothly. It is pretty bouncy. Anyone else ever deal with this? I have a feeling it’ll be fixed by the time I drive it again like last time but worried there is something loose or going out.

From Tundra to RR

I recently made the move from Toyota to Ford, and so far I’m really happy with the decision.
I’ve owned multiple Toyota TRD Pros over the years and always liked them, but lately I’ve been disappointed with the overall build quality, especially the interior. There was a lot of plastic, and the rattles and noises whenever the weather got really hot or cold started getting pretty annoying.
The Ford honestly feels like a noticeable step up inside. The materials, fit and finish, and overall solid feeling of the interior have impressed me so far. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel moving away from Toyota after owning them for so long, but at this point I have no regrets.
I picked this one up with only about 3,000 miles on it. It’s a 2023 build, was Gold Certified, and I also purchased the extended warranty. It essentially feels like I bought a brand-new vehicle.
I’m planning on keeping this one long term. For those of you who have owned these for a while, is there anything in particular I should be aware of or keep an eye on as the miles go up? Any preventative maintenance or common issues you’d recommend getting ahead of?

What do I do

2019 ford raptor Roush, I don’t really know much about anything mechanical wise, I’m 20 and trying to find out how to do this myself, if I’m correct the passenger side CV axle needs replacing but when I look online none of them specify what size the passenger side cv needs to be and the guys at o’reillys couldn’t say. If anyone could provide a link for the proper cv axle to order it would be greatly appreciated

Gen 3 Low Mile - Warranty Woahhhs

Post image
Upvotes

Friends what are my Ford Service options?

I’m at the point where I genuinely don’t know what more I’m expected to tolerate.

I purchased a 2024 Ford Raptor in January 2026 with 12,000 miles on it. I expected to have a reliable truck not one that would spend a significant portion of its first year in the shop.

Here’s the timeline:

February 23, 2026

Just three weeks into ownership, the front differential failed.
Ford approved the repair under warranty, and the truck sat at the first dealer for 47 days.

April 11, 2026
Finally got the truck back.

July 12, 2026

The turbo failed, and the truck was left at a different Montana Ford dealer. I was told the parts would be ordered and that Ford had approved the warranty repair.
About a month later, I contacted the dealer for an update and was told the required parts were on national backorder until mid-October 2026.
I then called Ford’s customer service hotline. The representative I spoke with was very nice and tried to help, but a week later Ford ultimately denied both a buyback and any ability to expedite the parts.

Truck has 22k miles on it, but if it had 18k buyback would be on the table.

At that point, I reached out directly to the dealership principal and GM. To their credit, they called me back within about 20 minutes and told me they had “found a solution” and would have the truck fixed the following week.
I thought we were finally getting somewhere.

Fast-forward to today.
The dealer messaged me to say that the technician broke a bolt while installing the turbo. Now they need additional time because they have to pull the cab from the truck to complete the repair.

At this point, I have to ask:
What more delay should I reasonably be expected to tolerate?

I want to be clear that BOTH dealerships I've dealt with have generally been doing their best, and I appreciate the efforts of the local people trying to get this truck repaired.

My frustration is with Ford Corporate and the lack of a reasonable resolution.

This truck has now experienced two major failures within months of ownership, spent 47 days at a dealer for the first repair, and has now been sitting again for almost 60 days waiting on a turbo that Ford says is on national backorder.

I bought a close to new Raptor expecting Ford to stand behind it when something went wrong. Instead, I feel like I’m being asked to simply keep waiting indefinitely.

So, what are my options here? At what point does Ford step up and make this right? No

Gen 3 Software Updates

Upvotes

I have a 26 that I bought in June, how often if ever are software updates being released. I haven’t saw anything available for my truck since I acquired it.
