Lwk, I want to live the Argonian experience in Morrowind (and especially look like TES III style Argonians!). Hateful stares wherever I go, cliff-racers wherever I go and arid sands fucking up my throat, I mean a life like that will never get boring. I won't be some beta slave or dockworker ofc, I'd love to join the Mages' guild just to get in their research efforts on the Dwemer, but ngl their "dues" (fancy word for extortion) would be a pain in the ass. Slinging some skooma on the side should help me afford them though.

Khajiit isn’t sure what this strange man was expecting when he started throwing lighting at this one in front of the adorable and gentle hippo Happy. Happy is a lovable friend who eagerly follows Khajiit around Skyrim, and so long as we are left alone Happy is quite peaceful.

But when someone attacks? Well those clearly demonstrates why the hippo is the new top of the food chain. A herd of them even brought down Alduin…..though Khajiit’s mates Kratos, Darkseid, Deadpool, Carl from San Andreas duel wielding Mac-10’a with extended mags and a few Pikachus helped. But still the fact they saw Alduin and instantly threw hands, uh hoofs, proves how dangerous they are!

So at this point, despite the memes, I know Elder Scrolls 6 is probably way too far along in development to suggest something as major as a whole new race. But this is something I still felt the need to voice for the fun of it.

I think that the Rim-men should be included as a playable race in the next ES game. It's not the most popular choice I know, most people would probably prefer something like Maormer or Limothiit, most people probably don't even know what a Rim-men is. But if you let me explain myself I think you may agree that this is a good idea.

Okay so first off, what is a Rim-man? Simply put, they are Akaviri diaspora. The long answer is that Rim-men are officially a sort of sub-race of imperials who dwell in the Rim mountains of eastern elsweyr. They trace their ancestry to the Nibenaen nobles who interbred with the Tsaesci from Akavir during the Akaviri potentate, and after the Potentate was deposed, fled to Elsweyr, mostly to the city of Rimmen for which they are named. As of ESO most now live in small isolated villages like Hakoshae, likely because they apparently aided the Kamal in the second Akaviri invasion of Tamriel and were sensibly chased out of the major Kajhiiti cities.

I'm not gonna front, they are barely mentioned in the lore. I've pretty much already said all there is to say about them. They were mentioned offhand in the pocket guide to the empire way back when and weren't mentioned afterwards until ESO gave them a random questline out of nowhere. I wouldn't blame you if you'd never heard of them. So then, why do I think they of all peoples should be elovated to the coveted eleventh race slot? Well, let me list some benefits:

First of all, having them be playable would mean we'd be able to play as an Asian person in an Elder scrolls game. Now I know that sounds like a petty, almost virtue signally thing to ask for, especially considering I'm not even Asian. But I mean, I can't be the only one who thinks it's weird that we have four human races in the Elder Scrolls, and three of them are ostensibly European. Skyrim gave you the option to play as a darker skinned Nord or Imperial, but I still feel like Bethesda should do more to make more people feel included in the world of Tamriel. Obviously they can't make equivalents for every single ethnicity that exists on irl Earth, but having a little more than two options would still go a long way.

Two: It gives people Akavir without actually giving people Akavir. We in the elder scrolls community all know that people really really really want to see Akavir, and we also know that we probably shouldn't see Akavir. The draw of Akavir, beyond the weeb appeal, is the mystery of it. That it's this whole alien continent full of unknown races and unexplored intrigue that we're only privy to the barest glimpses of; If we ever actually went there in game most of what makes Akavir appealing would disappear. At the same time though, having Akavir always be something in the background lets a lot of possible story opportunities go to waste. Akavir has played a large part in Tamriel's history, large enough that I would honestly argue it shouldn't be nearly as much of a mystery as it is but I digress, having that history not be represented outside of the blades feels weird then. Despite me not believing that we should go to Akavir I don't blame people who do want a game there. I think it's sensible to want a little bit more from Akavir beyond mentions in books and the blades. Having Akavir be an entirely off-screen mystery is one thing, introducing a race that is motivated to want to uncover that mystery makes it something active, intriguing, part of a story instead of part of the background.

Three: While their lore is bare bones what has been established I genuinely think has a lot of intrigue that would give them a unique niche in Tamriel's wider culture. The Rim-men are a diaspora of a people that the majority of Tamriel natives have valid reasons to not appreciate from a historical perspective. The Tsaesci weren't the worst conquerors Tamriel has seen but they're still not the most well liked, and that puts the Rim-men in an interesting position. Especially considering that the Rim-men practice ancestor worship, and a lot of their culture (at least as its been potrayed in ESO) is built around trying to live up to their half-remembered idea of what authentic Tsaesci cultural practices look like. They're a diaspora who has forgotten their ancestral traditions, and so they practice an artificial faximily, in spite of the fact that most outsiders would rather they not be anything like their ancestors at all; and also in spite of the fact, again as shown in ESO with the Tsaesci ghosts, the actual original members of that culture don't see their practice as authentic. They're a bit like the Elder Scrolls equivalent of Plastic Paddies in that regard. And that's all a built in conflict to their culture that I don't think any other race in the Elder Scrolls really has.

Four: Given that their lore is so bare bones introducing them would be the perfect opportunity to resurrect a lot of old Nibenay lore that was abandoned for Oblivion. Todd has said that he regrets the changes they made to Cyrodilic culture in Oblivion, and I think most of the community that's familiar with what Imperials were like before Oblivion agrees with him. But at this point it's too late to bring back most of what was left on the retcon floor without contradicting what Oblivion established. That is of course, unless we resurrect that lore and instead attribute it to the Rim-men. It makes sense, considering that in that old lore a lot of the reason the Nibenese were the way they were was their connection to the Tsaesci. They already have the ancestor worship aspect. So if you're not convinced that the Rim-men should be a playable race, instead think of it like we're the making pre-oblivion Nibenese a race.

I would understand if you'd still not want them in the game even after these points. Whether you'd rather have a different race or just not have a new race at all. But I hope you at least understand why I think this is a good idea. Imagine how much more intriguing the new game would be if they introduced a whole new race, and it's Akaviri, or Pseudo-Akaviri more like. Again, probably not going to happen, we're probably not going to get a new race at all in Elder Scrolls 6, but it's still fun to think about.

Something has been bugging me lately about arguments that the Thalmor are trying to destroy the Mundus using the Towers. For the longest time, I believed this theory wholeheartedly. It made sense to me, and sounded like an awesome story. But recently, I was looking at a map of Iliac Bay, and I felt two little bits of info click together that made me want to say some about it. Namely, that I no longer think it makes any sense with what we know from Skyrim.

The Dominion tried, through both treaty and war, to take southern Hammerfell. A lot of people I've seen use that as proof they're after Adamantine, as it's in Hammerfell. Except, it just isn't. Adamantine Tower is on Isle Balfiera in the Iliac Bay, north of Hammerfell. Not only does the Thalmor's goal in the Great War not get them Adamantine, it gets them no closer to it, as the region they tried to take is nearly as far from Balfiera as northern Summerset is.

Taking White-Gold was entirely opportunistic when they saw less resistance from Cyrodiil than they expected, plus its speculated that tower fell at Martin's sacrifice anyway. Given there is also an entirely valid reason for them to attack White-Gold that has nothing to do with tower lore, I'm inclined to believe it had nothing to do with the war either.

And for Snow-Throat, while the Thalmor are in Skyrim, they didn't even try to go there until Ulfric stirred up rebellion and made stricter crack downs "necessary". Even now, there's no evidence of the Thalmor doing anything at all involving the Throat of the World. And again, they have entire valid reasons for doing this that have nothing to do with the towers.

So, my point is that there's no evidence, to my knowledge, that the Thalmor or Dominion have done anything to advance a plan to bring down the towers, making it seem unlikely that's their goal. The Adamantine bit is the biggest part here.

She has no name, she has no story, she is definitely not an arcanist and you can't meet her in the game. The closest thing you can do is to purchase her costume for your character. Still, I wonder: is she an Altmer or a Bosmer? Would like to know your opinion.

It's been confirmed that all men and mer can have children, therefore, would it not make sense to be able to have a mixed-race character, and see mixed-race NPC's in the world? Mechanically, no, it's not that useful, we have plenty of preexisting ways to design our character builds, but that, as well as non-Imperial children feel weirdly absent from the past games.

Edit: Why does everyone immediately assume I haven't read Racial Phylogeny? When considering that there would be no visual difference from the race of the mother, does this feature not amount to, essentially, Starfield's backgrounds? Seems like a simple dream to me.

Hi all.
I mainly played Skyrim and a bit of ESO years ago and I kinda wanted to get a better grasp on the lore of the saga in general. I tried to go to the UESP wiki but everything is very fragmented and I'm having a hard time understanding anything on there. Is there a lore book I can get online that has the lore explained in a more streamlined way?
I was thinking that maybe starting with a new character on ESO might help me but IIRC each new character has a different start of the story, so I'm afraid I'd only get more confused with that.

Watching one of Joovs VODs he entered Blackreach and just looking at it made me want there to be a player home there. I play Skyrim SE AE. I honestly never thought to look for a mod but I’m not sure if there is one for free. I play on an Xbox One. I just thought it’d be really cool if there was a player home in Blackreach.

If there are any please list them, I’d like to check them out once I’m able to.
