I'm fighting fire giant and i cant realy get past 1/6 of his health. I'm playing this build. Is there something I can change?

I've seen a lot of talk from people about how the tarnished edition should've been a free update and is not worth $5. I've even seen people compare this DLC to Bethesda's horse armor for Oblivion, the DLC which is said to have set the market standard for DLCs as a whole to a very low bar. As someone who has been critical of some of Fromsoft's recent business decisions I think that the Tarnished Edition is actually a fairly priced DLC for what it offers. It not only adds horse armor but it adds extra armor, weapons, NPC invaders and 2 new starting classes. I personally think that kind of thing is worth $5. Interested to hear who disagrees and why.

Okay, so I dont want this to sound rude or anything, im simply trying to understand where others are coming from with this new expansion.

Ive seen so many people complaining about the new tarnished pack dlc for either its lack of content, or it not adding very specific things that maybe five people would have a solid interest in?

Is this all satirical and im just too autistic to understand or are people genuinely upset?

I understand its a pretty small “expansion” if thats what it could be called but after going around and doing everything and collecting all the items, i was genuinely content with what we got.

A few new weapons, two new starting classes with original weapons/armor, horse armors, it all seemed to be worth the $5 pricetag especially compared to the siphoning companies like R*, Ubisoft, Activision, and all these other companies begging for every cent to simply continue the story or have expendable funds in-game, or outer gods forbid, those stupid “crates” for micro transactional gambling online.

Is the ER community just that spoiled? Is everyone in on a joke i didnt pick up on? Or am i maybe just too specific in financially supporting companies? I feel like us souls fans are getting VIP treatment rn with all the additional stuff they have going for us soon like the ER movie, Sekiro: no defeat, and whatnot

Please help me understand because again im not trying to be rude im just wanting a good understanding on the communities basis of this new addition to ER

This was my first playthrough, and I feel really lucky to play this game.

I enjoyed it so much that I even platinumed the game (something I rarely do)

I even feel luckier to finish it in a good drip.

I inherited the flame and one of the things Mellina had said was 'I'll kill you if you become Lord of Frenzied Flame' and when you get the ending all you get is the (honestly) awesome cutscene of your rebirth a picture of leyndell aimed towards the sky where you see what looks like a Phoenix of sorts, and Mellina finding Torrents whistle (Which I feel bad we'd cast Torrent aside) no what happened to the world after or nothing, and didn't even get to fight Mellina. Don't get me wrong the ending was really awesome, but at the same time it's a little underwhelming. Didn't even get to properly witness the cleansing of the lands of all of its vile creatures all the corruption and vile rot. (Hense why I embraced it, to cleanse the lands in an inferno, for after destruction comes renewal)

I just finished my second play-through of a no leveling up and no Scadutree challenge run, and I want to challenge myself further on a third play-through in NG+2. However, I can’t decide between doing no dodge rolls or just no dodging entirely.

Doing a no dodge roll run means the only way I can dodge would be using AoW’s that have i-frames like Blood-Hounds’s Step, Dynastic Sickleplay, and Muleta. While getting to play with Muleta would be a lot of fun, it might be not that much harder the regular challenge run.

A no dodging run, which I don’t know if it’s even possible on Scadutree 0, would have to rely on deflects, strafing, parries, and good positioning, especially to avoid grab attacks. I don’t think no dodging has been done at Scadutree 0, so it would be fun pioneering all the strategies needed to complete this run.

Either way, the run will be defeating all remembrance bosses + the goat Bayle, and I’ll be recording all my successful boss attempts as proof of completing the challenge.

I’m used to playing this game on my PS5 Pro, but for assorted reasons I want to game more on the Nintendo switch 2. So has anyone here played this game on that system? How’s the performance? Docked vs Handheld? Installed on main drive vs micro sd? I’m worried I’ll be a little underwhelmed with the performance. But I’ll give it a chance.

Went to go fight Malenia. First try of this run. Second time ever playing.

To be fair, I had the Black Knife and Tiche with me, but I’ve done that before and it took thirty plus tries.

Anyone else have managed to beat her the first time entering? What methods do you use?

Just had a moment where I thought I was going crazy. I’ve done 3 whole playthroughs and like a half dozen other incomplete ones. Every single time Roderika goes to Roundtable Hold on her own.

Also every time, I get the first Liurnia Grace pretty early and that’s how I usually get to Roundtable. This time, for whatever reason, I didn’t do that and got it through that one Caelid church instead (which already surprised me). I noticed Roderika wasn’t there at Roundtable, so I went back to her and she delivers a line about “did you deliver my message” that I’ve never heard in my life!

This whole time turns out there is a quest to get her to Roundtable that autocompletes if you get to the Liurnia Grace first. And the spot where you find this Memento in Stormveil is instead a Crimson Hood. Bruh I thought the new update changed her quest or something, but then I saw this item mentioned as far back as 2022 and I thought I was going insane.

Did anyone else not know about this? Or any other weird things in general that you’d missed for multiple playthroughs?

Don’t get me wrong, he was incredibly frustrating to fight and I died a LOT but there’s just something about this boss fight that felt a bit too easy and quite unsatisfying to defeat. I think it has to do with the importance of the summons and the role they play in the fight. The first phase is a piece of cake. All you really have to do is run around on torrent, dodge the ranged attacks and summon, then chain attack when you get a chance to. The second phase is the tough part. If you get too close you’re basically dead. I honestly just let the summons deal 90% of the second phase damage for me and I think that’s why it felt so unsatisfying to defeat. I feel like I somehow don’t deserve the win?

Edit: For context I defeated him at level 53 with a +5 bloodhound’s fang and bloodflame blade

So I know maybe the players who have been playing the game for a long time may already know about this but for those who didn't know -

the 'Baldachin's Blessing' you get from Fia when you first speak to her at the Roundtable Hold, decreases your total HP. For ex, as you can see here, at 60 vigor it reduced my HP from 1900>1805.

You can see me using the item, then after the effect of the blessing ends, it went back up to my regular HP count of 1900.

Just taught I'd share this as I'm not even sure if the game ever really tells you it does this, so some may not be aware of this.

Alright guys, i gotta know, is this game worth it? Im not the greatest gamer, but i like open world, and am down to level up to take down bosses n'at. Please give feedback, i think the game looks pretty fun.

When you get stuck on a boss, and finally beat it. At the end, do you think "Yes, fuck yeah! Im the motherfuckin goat" or do ya think "oh god, its finally over, fuck this stupid ass boss"

Maybe you could replace the boss with simple the word challenge.

So, do you feel accomplished that you did it, or thankful that it's over?

Is any of the gear added considered ultra powerful? or is it just cool shit as a fun little bonus package you can optionally buy, with no impact on your main game whatsoever?

For those not aware, many enemies who input read and auto dodge your ranged attacks shortly after your cast/input, rather than attempt to dodge the projectile. That can make any spell that fires on a delay WAY more useful and any that doesn’t way less useful. Besides the night sorceries which seem to work as intended.

Would you guys like a change for a more intuitive system where you have to outplay the ai to hit ranged attacks? It feels like one of the weakest points of the games combat in pve

I’m terrible at this game. I’m bad at dodging and I haven’t got the patience to learn bosses’ move sets. I’m currently level 55 and probably fairly overlevelled- just beat Rellana at the academy. I’ve been playing the game concurrently with my best mate so I don’t want to give up, and I’d like to beat the main game, but I feel like everything will just keep getting harder and harder and less forgiving.

So what’s the most noob-friendly least-skill-intensive build I can use for the early/mid game? I conveyed to a defensive lance + shield poke build, but still feel pretty fragile, especially against multiple enemies and bosses’ special attacks.

Any thoughts?

so the last time i played was over a year ago, and i finally decided to return to beat the game and get ranni's ending. however, i can't remember what i was doing for the life of me. i'm at the hoarah loux fight, i burned the erdtree, but i have miquella's needle.... i remember doing millicent's quest, but if i'm not mistaken the only reason you would do that is to reverse the frenzied flame ending. i'm pretty sure i let melina sacrifice herself but i can't remember.... is there any way to tell if i actually got the frenzied flame (i don't want it) or why else i would've done millicent's quest?

The phrasing in the original post from the ER account is rather vague, but now people are saying we can't trade freely like this anymore. Has it been tested, or are people just jumping to conclusions?
