Question Is there a mod to bind different spells to different button combos? E.g. holding LT plus A/B/X/Y

Upvotes

I have always wanted to play a build where I'm weaving different spells together fluidly, but having to cycle through them with the d-pad up button is clunky. I would love a way to assign spells to button combos. Any chance something like this exists? Thanks!

Requirements:

  • Controller support

  • Compatible with Reforged

I found "Spell Keybinds", but it sounds like it's keyboard only.

"Modular Cast Keys" sounds promising. But I'm not sure how I find out if mods are compatible with Reforged https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/7273

Help! Spirit Calling Bell not appearing in inventory - Seamless Co-Op

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I am running Seamless Co-Op to play with my brother; Sometimes I miss parts of NPC quests if he gets to them first, such as the initial meeting with Ranni.

I ended up purchasing the Spirit Calling Bell from the Twin Maiden Husks, but it doesn't show up when I go to assign it in my pouch. It only shows in my inventory, but all I can do there is discard/leave.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

General Discussion Is there a way to kick the cheater from a session of seamless without just leaving?

Upvotes

I was playing with the tt equivalent of seemless and when i was exploring a cave another player joined me. THe player at first had normal gameplay but dude just got no diffed by a sorcerer and then started to speed hack.

Like ... i could have understood if you did it alone or with **your** friends, but why join someone else's session just to cheat??

Because they started cheating my session was no longer eligible for invasion (thanks god i would have felt so bad) making my challenge run not challenging so i just left after my friend was revived.

Help! Torrent ya no aparece.

Upvotes

Question Convergence: How does Phoenix of Death work?

Upvotes

Hello! I am currently playing the necromancer and just unlocked the phoenix of death spell. It states that it will keep the caster from dying once before the effect disappears. However, it has yet to keep me alive even once. Am I not understanding how the spell works? Does it only work if you're hit by a non-boss enemy? I was killed twice, once by a bite from a random drake in Caelid, and the other by the Bell-Bearing Hunter at the Caelid shack from a blade swipe. Is it a bug, or am I just not using it right? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. ^^

Question Mod that reworks the Weapon Upgrade system

Upvotes

Does anyone know a mod that reworks the weapon upgrade system? I don't really want to upgrade every weapon I find. I like how it worked in Wuchang, you just upgrade weapons through the level-ups system. Would be nice if there was a mod where you use upgrade materials to instead upgrade your mastery over all weapons instead of having to upgrade every single one of them, so you can just pick-up and play with weapons on the spot as long as you meet the stat requirements.

Misc. Mod 1.17 Torrent fix for Convergence mod

Upvotes

There was a post here before with a fix, but it included an .exe file that got flagged by VirusTotal, so I didn’t want to risk running it.

I asked ChatGPT to create a regulation.bin fix instead, based on the original Convergence regulation.bin and the Torrent-related changes introduced in Elden Ring 1.17. I’ve tested it, and so far it seems to be working fine.

There is only one known issue: do not attack while riding Torrent, because attacking while mounted causes him to die. Riding and travelling normally work fine.

To install:

  1. Go to your Convergence mod folder (ConvergenceER 3.0.1\mod) and find there regulation.bin

  2. Make a backup for regulation.bin

  3. Place a new regulation.bin to Convergence mod folder (ConvergenceER 3.0.1\mod)

General Discussion I removed all the generic bosses from the Erdtree Waygates 🤣

Garden of Eyes has terrible progression, so I'm using Convergence as the base game and repurposing everything I can from GOE to make Convergence as complete as possible.

Question Convergence, freezing enemies causes my game to break and crash pretty much immediately

Upvotes

It could be one single enemy that gets frozen and yet my entire game will crash and boot me back in less than 10 seconds

Is this a problem for anyone else or am I the only one experiencing this issue?

Question Can ER handle physics simulations for spells?

Upvotes

I'm planning a magic overhaul mod, because this game has legs, and I've designed magic/simulations as standalone projects. But I've never modded ER. One of the key things id like to do, is rewrite the gravity spells to actually have Newtonian gravity-ish interactions - not just be gravity-flavoured flavor text. For simplicity, I'd likely be just use velocity vectors rather than acceleration. I'm not actually trying to curve the game's space-time - just create spells that give the impression of gravitational tomfoolery.

Most straightforward example of this would be for a point particle/object that interacts with enemies based on their distance and weight. Close enough, they're pulled towards it. At a further range, they're slowed/encumbered. If theyre heavy enough themselves, the point travels towards them (or they resist it - not sure yet).

Another example - a localized AOE increase to natural gravity, slowing down > over encumbering > crushing actors, depending on their weight.

So this would mean all affected actors would have state, which would be continually evaluated while the spell was in effect. Most of ER'S magic is just damaging particles, but there IS some calculated stuff. Like eternal darkness - which does appear to implement similar gravitational/orbital effects

I havent ever made a mod for ER - it's been a few years since I made a mod period. does ER actually have capability for this kind of scripted, calculated magic?

Thanks!

Misc. Mod Staff of Great Beyond-like mod?

Does anyone know if there are mods that essentially replicate the function of the Staff of Great Beyond? Would love to have one item that could cast both incantation and sorceries. To free up one of the left hand side slots. Even better if it’s a DLL mode. Thanks!

Help! Having trouble trying to fix a mod that's a few years old?

Upvotes

So, I downloaded a mod to use in a modpack thing I'm using to play with my partner and it's not quite working graphically.

Ranni's Promised Consort lets Ranni chill above your shoulder with the weapon equipped. I've followed helpful tutorials to get the mod working and her model to not appear as if she's scattered to the winds. However, she still floats above the character too far.

Is there any easy way to get her model to lower itself farther?
I've tried googling things but I can't seem to find the right way to go about it as I'm new to this side of modding.

I've been using smithbox to edit the reg.bin stuff.

Help! Elden Ring Seamless co-op and Crossover not working anymore?

Upvotes

Playing Elden Ring on Mac via CrossOver Specs: M4 Max, 48GB RAM.
Tahoe 26.6.2 / CrossOver 26.3

Had 250+ hours in Seamless Co-op working fine (max settings) until the recent game update broke the mod's launcher, throwing "WaitForSingleObject failed! Return value = 258, Error = 0" during DLL injection even after updating the seamless co-op files.

Fixed that by launching through ModEngine2 instead of Seamless's own launcher, game loads and runs great with no stutter in normal play.

Now the issue I'm facing is the following:

The moment I use the Tiny Great Pot to open an online session, the game hitches hard and kicks me with "frame rate unsuitable for online play," dropping me to offline mode. This happens even at the lowest possible graphics settings (already tried dropping resolution to 1080p and every setting to MEDIUM/LOW/DISABLED, including ray tracing off).

Normal single-player and general gameplay performance is smooth, this only happens at the exact moment the online session tries to initialize. Hardware is way overkill for this game (M4 Max / 48GB RAM), so it doesn't seem to be a raw power issue.

Anyone run into this specifically with the ModEngine2 launch method under CrossOver?

Any fixes appreciated.

Weapons Mod Reforged Rant

Upvotes

So I just completed an all bosses blind play-through of reforged and I gotta say. I'm greatly disappointed.

Let me start with the pros though, cause there are a lot of good things here that kept me going.

  1. Deflections. No idea why this wasn't in vanilla but it definitely should be. Its a very fun defensive mechanic that offers a high risk high reward play style.

  2. Ashes of War changes. The enkindling system is really fun and can open up a plethora of build options (all though this is a double edged sword as there are a lot of nerfs and changes to how weapons and statuses work but w/e). The different rarities made for a fun sort of gambling mechanic (with a pity system, albeit an expensive pity system). I personally felt that they were too stingy with Lost Ashes, luckily I was able to find a way to dupe them. I restrained myself from abusing this exploit, but I definitely did utilize it on a few occasions. For the reasons in the cons section I felt like getting back at these stingy devs a bit.

  3. Runic Pieces. After getting a great rune you can exchange these Runic Pieces for passive bonuses depending on the great rune. This makes Great Runes feel more valuable and less like random junk clogging your inventory. Opens up more build variety.

  4. Starlight tokens. Spend these rare items at a starlight alter to get any item in the game. That's right any item. It only costs 10, but they are extremely rare so.... cool? Between these, lost ashes for enkindling, and runic pieces there is much more incentive to explore every corner of the map.

  5. Fortunes. To be honest I didn't much care for this system in practice, but I like the idea. Throughout the world you can find Fortunes that drastically change your play style. Offering bonuses to certain things while nerfing others. The nerfing part really rubbed me the wrong way and the majority of them felt like I was better off without them as the negatives were far too heavy handed to justify. Additiuonall the enemy roster of elden ring is very diverse and there is no one sized fits all build, especially in reforged. So having to sit at a grace and switch between fortunes, and armor, and phsyck, and spells, and weaposn, and ashes got old very quickly. I suppose this could be mitigated with some sort of load-out system, but if there was one I certainly didn't find it.

That's all for positives. The negatives however are much more numerous.

  1. Scaling. The infamous late game enemy difficulty spike happens much earlier in Reforged. In vanilla the spike is generally recognized as being at the Snowfield/Haligtree point, but Reforged cranks it much much earlier. I suppose they were trying to smooth the curve, but they chose to raise earlier areas up rather than bring the Haligtree down. This wouldn't be an issue in and of itself, but Reforged for some unknowable reason decided to implement a level cap for your character. Why? God knows... Its decently high at 200, enough for a competent build-crafter to get by but not nearly enough to be able to do it all well. On top of all this reforged by default buffs enemies by a decent amount on top of the scaling changes. Having completed all the bosses, vanilla and new, there was one boss that killed me far more than any other. It was the Godskin Apostle at the bottom of Rahdan's tower. I can't help but feel that there was some oversight here. Despite having zero deaths to any other boss in the Dragon Barrow GSA absolutely creamed me 40 times. The only way I managed to beat him was via rot, poison, and cold, all of which deal drastically reduced damage by the way. It was utterly baffling.

  2. Anti-Cheese. I get it, Elden Ring is a VERY cheesy game. Players in vanilla are able to become absurdly powerful very quickly if they choose to do so. Reforge decides to make the choice for you. Many early game avenues to power are closed off. For example, an experienced player looking to do a vanilla playthrough with minimal difficult might head straight to the dragon barrow. Cheese the bridge dragon, Night's Cav, and Greyoll for a massive early game power spike all before you hit Stormveil. In reforged however this isn't an option as the teleporter to dragon barrow puts you in the beast chapel with the door firmly closed. Okay... strange choice given the ludicrously amped scaling of dragon barrow they already implemented, in addition to the anti-cheese tweaks to the bridge dragon and greyoll, but okay I guess... It doesn't end here though. Early Altus access has been cutoff in various ways and if you even want to go to weeping early to get some sacred tears you will be met with a new boss on the bridge that scales far past the early game. Sure you can get around him with a little riddle but this is just another frustration in an already growing pile. There are other examples you'll find of utterly baffling choices. The memory stone "requiring" the Euradition emote has been raise preventing players from climbing the wall and jumping inside for example. This makes almost no sense to me. Its a memory stone... why are we going through all that effort to prevent players from getting an extra memory stone??? Another example was closing the door to the capitol guarded by the Tree Sentinel duo. Now, you must fight both at once as opposed to sneaking up behind them and separating them. All in all it felt like they were forcing you to play the game the way that they intended, rather than leaning into Elden Ring's greatest strength of player choice and freedom you are instead shoe horned into a linear set path. It very much brought the term "Hostile DM" to mind.

The pros and the cons clash together to make a very discordant experience. On one hand the devs seem to want to give the player more tools to experiment with to create fun cool builds, but on the other the ludicrous scaling and anti-cheese railroading make for a slug of a playthrough. Once you play around with some of it's gimmicks the magic wears off.

I liken it to a favorite album. You love most of the songs on it, but there are still some you skip. Reforged is like being forced to listen to the songs that you don't really like 10 times over just to hear the song you like once. Its a repetitive slog of an experience that ultimately you really should just skip for better options like vins, convergence, or just a good ole fashion randomized run.

P.S. Elden Ring unalloyed pretty much fixed reforged, but I guess someone through a hissy fit over it and unalloyed isnt getting any updates... If anyone knows a hidden updated version please link me.
