so basically i worked so so hard for my A levels and keep in mind i had chronic myeloid leukemia the entire time but i was so determined to get an A* for accounting. i got my results and i was so close to an A* SO I sent it for recorrection and i got my outcome and IM LITERALLY 1 MARK AWAY FROM AN A*. i wanna crash out so so bad because i was SO CLOSE LIKE SO SO CLOSE. i tried to make my school appeal to edexcel but they said being close to a grade boundary is not a reason to appeal. IDK WTF TO DO IM SO SO PISSED CUZ WHYD THEY RAISE THE GRADE BOUNDARIES SO HIGH. is there anything else i can do please help i really really need this.

Hi guys, im gonna give edexcel A levels and i just completed my 12th cbse. And i got less marks than expected and missed my offer by 5% so i’m thinking to doing A levels in my gap year.

im thinking to doing biology, chemistry and psychology
i plan to do neuroscience and medical bioscience (imperial) and my some of my top choices will be imperial (yes i know), ucl, kings, manc, and maybe ual for a fashion degree (yes i know again) so i was wondering if i get could any advice on this? i plan to take the bio & psychology exam in January 2027 because biology is something im genuinely interested in and i plan to give chemistry in May/june 2027 and apply for unis in jan itself (predictive score) and go to college in september 2027 What do you guys think? If anyone has any advice for me i would really appreciate it

So, I took S1 in June 2026. I’m currently in the Gulf, so the exams were cancelled and I had to take a mock exam instead. When I received my results, I was shocked to see that I got 45 UMS out of 100, even though I was sure that I had done well.

I checked my script and marked the exam myself strictly according to the official marking scheme, and I found that I would have scored around 100 UMS. I’m not sure what happened, but several of my friends faced the same issue.

Am just scared I remark and they don’t give me my actual grade so did anyone face the same problem and remarked and he got his actual grade

anyone taking their science paper 1s in november? i’m trying to study right now but i don’t have any motivation and whenever i do a past paper i always get around 75 so i keep thinking that im fine but ugh i know i need to study
also i cant find any past papers for any modular subject it’s so annoying but im thankful that im not doing linear

I went through Edexcel IAL Physics examiner feedback from 2020–2025 and found 15 feedback entries related to mass/weight confusion.

I didn't expect something this basic to show up so often.

The common issue is basically this:

mass ≠ weight

• mass → kg, scalar, does not change with gravitational field strength
• weight → N, force, vector
• weight = mg

For example, if an object has a mass of 2 kg, writing “weight = 2 kg” is already mixing up two different physical quantities.

Another mistake appears when the context changes — Moon, satellites, lifts, different gravitational fields, etc.

The mass stays the same.

The weight changes because g changes.

A quick exam check that I now use with students is simply:

kg → mass
N → force / weight

And on a free-body diagram, mg represents the weight force, not the mass.

What surprised me wasn't the physics itself, but how often such a basic distinction still appeared in examiner feedback.

I'm currently going through the reports and grouping recurring mistakes by topic.

Has anyone noticed other “basic” physics mistakes that examiners seem to mention again and again?

During the delivery of my school’s P2 maths papers, they were lost(idk how)
So my P2 is not marked
Instead, they decided to calculate our UMS so that my P2 UMS mark is one mark less then my P1 mark(Everyone is like this)
I mean P2 this year was HARD.
Anyways my school is giving us the opportunity to resit in October (Edexcel obviously pays the fees) and they will take the higher mark.Or we can just keep our calculated grade.What should I do?

How are you, Edexcel friends? Will I need to buy all the course books, or are the online teachers sufficient?

I am sitting 2 AS levels (chem and physics) in October and i am doing self study, i do mocks and correct them by myself. I normally score 65-72/80 in mocks. However it might be due to me being too soft to myself so i deducted fewer points. Also, in the next few weeks idk if i will be able to study really hard sooooo do yall think im able to get an A if the exams were tomorrow? Im getting lazier and lazier these days i cant get myself to study.

Are there cases where people got a B or C even when they constantly score 70/80 in their mocks?
