Question/Help When should I stop having kids

For reference I did start over from my first game. However, in that game I task to have 10 kids because I didn’t have anyone procreating. Now, in this second game I’ve been trying to have a kid every day, but now I feel over run. Is the a sweet spot on when there’s enough babies?

At one point I had 130-some people and a huge parade of unemployed subjects constantly marching around. It’s tough to feed everyone. I’m comfortable around 80 subjects… I still have some surplus but not too many. You also can freely banish people who have negative or useless traits. (This page has some interesting thoughts on traits.) I try to only breed after a death to keep the number stable. You also will occasionally get an adult from challenges, packs, etc.

I let every couple have one kid when they get married. If a couple has good stats I might let them have two or three but no more than that.

I always keep my castle at pop cap which is 200, I have 3 of the kitchens you buy with gems at max so food isnt a problem, but I keep my pop maxed just to get more rewards from the deaths thats why I have over 45 soulstones and my queen is over 1000 years old
