Fluff The craziest part about Doorman players that no one talks about...
...someone had to carry that guy 15 times for him to show up in my ranked match. Just totally unbelievable

Yesterday, I queued random and got called a bad person by a paradox for playing the doorman.

Ult them, put door down, cart to walker, pause, type: “keyboard”, commend them.

People really out here thinking doorman is bad like how else are we gonna rewrite history?
•

i mean, according to statlocker he has negative WR even in the top 1%

Doesn't mean he's bad

No that quite literally is the main way to determine if a hero is bad. He's amazing in COORDINATED tourney play. He's hust "ok" in matchmaking.

Seriously, this character gets 2.6 scaling with charges, AND has all the CC and Utility of a support character

His bells have high scaling but they for some reason don't feel strong unless you have a lot of items. Also his charges have a long cooldown between them.
I feel like they're gonna have to disable doors in spawn so they can buff other parts of kit. His doors are broken but only in coordinated play.

Tbh kidnap build is only bad because of the bugs. Door, cart and vortex web is insanely buggy that you literally cant kindap half of the time even if u do correct things
Maxing bell first and shaping to cc with vortex/t3 cart is goated imo, you can still have meaningful impact and sometimes even carry with good kidnaps (at least in current phantom/ascendant games)
Your stats will be dogshit though, bell genuinely does no damage late game if you dont invest to it like 10k purples

Drifter can deal half an HP bar with a virtually unmissable ability with like 3 items.
Doorman isn't allowed to have meaningful poke until he spends his entire net worth on bells.
I remember when he had a weaker ult, but better bells and doors. Those were the days.

Kidnap build often goes badly cause it attracts the exact kind of player that doesn't want to learn how to play and instead wants to one-trick for easy points

I max bell, then focus on team fight CC. slowing hex and knockdown plus ult and cart make for the greatest rage bait.

How it feels to play “Ethical Doorman” (I can’t use my abilities, items, gun, melee, parry, stamina, spacebar, or WASD keys)
