Looking for a studio apartment in Darmstadt
I’m currently looking for a studio/single apartment in Darmstadt for a long-term stay.
Move-in: October 2026 (flexible)
Budget: Around €500–600 warm
Location: Darmstadt, preferably with a good connection to Lichtwiese Campus
Anmeldung: Required
Long-term: Ideally 1 year or longer
If you have a studio/single apartment available, know someone who is looking for a tenant, or have any leads/recommendations for student accommodation, I would really appreciate it if you could DM me!
Thank you!

Darmstadt is very expensive. Maybe you should consider expanding your search to include student shared apartments. Otherwise, it will be difficult to stay within your budget.

And these places are also difficult to get. On the first day, we received almost 100 applications for one available room.

Ahh I understand I’m open to WGs as well, especially if Anmeldung is possible. I’m applying to different options at the moment, so if you happen to hear of anyone leaving a room or looking for a new tenant around October, I’d really appreciate a lead

You could also look in Eberstadt, Griesheim, Nieder-Ramstadt, and Roßdorf. You can get to the campus within 30 - 40 minutes by public transport from any of these places.

OP in addition to helgenhelgen sugesstions, try Mühltal too. These are near to Lichtwiese

Well for studio/single room it's about 850+ € cold. Nice try, or you have to look out for shared apartments, with roommates to get you down. But 500-600€ cold is also there reasonable at the moment.

Yeah, I’m starting to realize that 😭 I’m mainly looking for a studio/single room, but I’m also okay with staying outside Darmstadt if the commute is manageable. Would really appreciate any leads

I pay 540 for a tiny studio 30 mins away from Darmstadt and have been looking for a closer place with the same rent for a long time. You definitely need to increase you budget.

Oh wow, where did you manage to find yours? I’ve been looking for something similar and I’m honestly okay with staying outside Darmstadt too if the commute is manageable. Would really appreciate it if you could share where/how you found your accommodation

Ahh, I see I tried checking Kleinanzeigen, but it requires a German number, which I don’t have yet 😭 I’ll definitely give it a try once I’m in Germany.
