Daggerfall Unity Quest 3 VR

Just a little something I've been working on. Daggerfall (DFU) ported to native Quest3 VR. Still rough and has bugs, but it works! I plan on getting 6dof hands and several other enhancements next. Inability to loot bodies is a known bug. https://github.com/rwcrosk-arch/dfu-quest3/releases

I don't know anything about how this works but is it or will it be mod compatible?

Sick dude! If you can improve it to be better than the existing VR mod, a pc version world be cool as well! I have way too many mods to play it/mod it again as standalone 😂

If I played this for more than 20 minutes I think I'd vomit. Still really cool though thank you for sharing!

Yeah, the problem seems to be with the "yaw" (up/down) look on the right joystick. I need to look into a better way to handle that. Whenever I use that to look up/down I get nausea too, but head look is fine, turning with right joystick is fine, and strafe with left joystick it fine. I wonder if I can just disable the yaw or make it a comfort setting.

Do you know whether the use 2d sprites which turn to face you cause motion sickness at all?

No, that was fine. The only motion sickness was cause by the right stick vertical look *pitch. HMD head look is good enough for most cases so I think disabling the vertical look on the stick is the best solution, but I'll leave the ability to turn it back on in a more comfort friendly way. In the next release it will start with that defaulted to disabled, with options for a slower, angle degree limited comfort setting when it's enabled.

After decades of players disabling the mouse swing mechanic, we've finally ported this game to a medium that's actually condusive to the manual swinging. Incredible.

Thats so cool. I cant imagine how you could use a vr controller and have enough buttons for this game’s controls, but if it works at all I think this would be the ideal way to play it. Good job so far, keep it up! I’m gonna try it
