Integrated fridge freezer not sealing

Hello all,

The freezer part of my fridge freezer is not sealing and the freezer stuff is melting. This is a new build so fridge should be new , does anyone know what to do please

Try and pull the fridge freezer forward slightly- assuming they havent bothered to properly secure it.

Otherwise you need to move the door outwards. Usually secured by a couple of screws in the side of the freezer door connecting it to the cupboard door

There looks to be ice built up above the top drawer? If so this will keep this drawer pushed out slightly blocking the door from closing properly

Thats it mate. Pop the cap off and undo the screw on the freezer door, then pull the cupboard door out a bit and tighten the screws back up.

They are probably torx screws so you'll need a torx bit

If the door isn't sealing, that will form very quickly.

I've just fitted an integrated fridge freezer at home and the bracket the plastic bracket that's attached to the slider/freezer door has around 1cm play forwards/backwards. If you pop that little plaster cover off, you should see screw and might have some play on it.

The unit has probably pushed back slightly from use. Try to very carefully pull it forward, slightly and see if that helps.
Watch out though as they’re usually fixed in place with screws, both at the top and bottom of the cabinet.

OP this is 100% the answer.

If you can’t tug it forward to fix you can test it by disconnecting the freezer door from the cupboard door. The freezer will seal and proving it’s now misaligned

I’ve had this issue before, as others suggested, it’s ice build up. It’s subtle and accumulated behind the drawers.

Try and remove some of the ice built up on the inside

there is no ice all melted! we removed all the drawers and there’s practically none

Could be the top drawer isn’t able to fully go in. I had this with the ice around the freezing element.

Yes remove it, youll be surprised what abit of ice around the sides can do to the doors sealing properly. Don't use a knife.

One fix I’ve seen is with freezer off use a hair dryer to soften the seal to pull out a bit where it’s curled so magnet can stick again

Defrost it well and clean the rubber surround… that should work

Remove all the drawers and see if the door closes correctly.

It’ll probably be ice build up behind the drawers stopping them going fully back meaning the door won’t close. Defrost the whole freezer

but i’ve tried to close with all drawers out and it still didn’t seal

100% ice accumulation down the side of the front of the drawers causing this. Happens all the time on mine when the kids leave it open. I've forms, then the door won't seal properly so I have to remove all the drawers and knock the ice off like scraping wallpaper. Easy fix just annoying.

What makes you think it’s not sealing?

You’re coming here with a video stating what the solution is (a better seal) and not describing the issue.

If it is a poor seal, use a hair dryer to warm the seal a fair bit. Then sort of stretch it out. Do that all the way round.

it’s usually a lot tougher to open the freezer and it opens very easily now. Plus there was so much water on the floor when i came down. Thank you

The seal is a magnetic strip inside the white rubber.
It grabs the metal fridge body magnetically when the door closes.
If the white rubber seal gets a bit stiff the magnetic strip in it can’t get close enough to the fridge to hold properly.
This is more common with freezer doors than fridges because the seal hardens more with the cold.

Warming the seal with a hair dryer or heat gun will soften it and you can stretch it forward from the door.

Try the hair dryer first and then, if that doesn’t work, Google the make/model and buy a new seal. They won’t be much - £20 ish? - and they’re easy to replace.

Ok. It’s just from the video you sent, it looks to me that when the fridge door is shut, the seal completely seals the door opening- from what is shown. That’s why I came to the conclusion that it is sealing. Maybe I need a new fridge? 🤣
