Random but might be up some people's alley here, the Discord server I'm on (we've run cricket sim tournaments for a few years) is starting a new season later this month. It's basically franchise management: live auction, you build a squad of real players based on their real in-depth stats(think Virat Kohli vs Left Arm off spin in the powerplay type depth), every fixture is simulated 10,000 times, home and away season with conditions you set yourself.
We're looking for managers this time around (8 squads) and it skews towards people who enjoy the spreadsheet side of cricket. If that sounds like your kind of rabbit hole, happy to send details just reply or DM.

Today in Middlesex drama...
Following on from news of his departure, Leus du Plooy has apparently now played his final match for Middlesex. Having declared for South Africa he immediately became ineligible as a local player, and they've missed the deadline for the registration of overseas players, so he's now unavailable for the remainder of the season.
I notice that having announced his signing, Danru Ferns isn't in the XI, which now makes me wonder if they've cocked up his registration as well.

Not knowing about an administrative deadline is liquid Middlesex
I notice Coleman is leaving as well

Yeah, I'm a bit ambivalent towards Coleman's departure. He was always up against it with the various financial, infrastructural and administrative limitations, but they've been an unbelievably poor side for a lot of his tenure and I seem to remember some suggestions when Johnson was sacked that he was taking the fall for some more senior members of staff, and that Coleman was slightly out of his depth.
It's an opportunity for a fresh start with a new captain and backroom staff, but...well, it's Middlesex.

Between the greed of CA, the chauvinism of BCCI and the incompetence of the PCB...where the ECB at?

Is the non- selection of a reserve top order bat elite player management (a “we believe in you” to Marnus) or a sign that they plan to throw a middle order player to the wolves? And how long do they wait before flying Patterson in?

CA is really going to create a shitfest going after privatisation

Least surprising outcome. CA have been pants down and bent over waiting for IPL owners just like ECB was with the hundred. It's not like this happened, this was literally the goal from day 1

Not sure why everyone on here was mocking the KP appointment.
He's a bit of an arse in general but when it comes to batting his opinions are pretty sensible and traditional. He's also been in the media a lot in the past criticising so called "Bazball" batting and the whole vibes approach to training and so he's clearly not been brought in to be a yes-man for Baz.
