Hey!
I live in state and relatively near Colgate. While I expect many students to return home for longer breaks (like Thanksgiving or Christmas), do students typically leave for long weekends (such as October break)?
Thanks for any help and tips

Hi! I was considering applying to Colgate but I have a few questions. First off here's some general info about me: I wouldn't be applying for financial aid, I want to major in either government/politics or economics and I wouldn't have a car.
I want to go pre-law so does the university have resources to help you with that?
I want to rush but as an international student is it harder to get into greek life? What's the process like?
How's the overall social scene? I'm not particularly looking for the 'American college experience' but I would like a decent going out scene/partying. Also are there things to do during the day?
I've heard it's not diverse so would it be hard to adapt and find a group as a girl coming from Spain? also is it true the atmosphere is very pretentious/snobby?
From videos I've seen I really like the campus and the cold doesn't really bother me but I don't know if it's a good fit for me vibe wise. All inputs would be appreciated!

I am a student ranking colleges for the Questbridge National College Match looking to gather first hand experiences on the colleges i'm considering!
Type of student: I'm not interested in Greek life, would love a nice outdoors, quirky, and authentic social scene with friends I can hangout with regularly.
I'm a hard worker but value relaxation on certain days. I want liberty/freedom regarding my academics despite knowing I'm going to be premed because I have many passions. I want to have as many friends/ connections as possible and gain a good community.
Questions
1. How is the premed track?
2. What are pros/cons you've experienced?
3. How accessible are jobs, internships, opportunities, etc.
4. How is the social scene?
5. What is the general political sentiment that most students/faculty hold? Do POC and Queer individuals feel welcomed and supported?
6. How are the dorms and food?
7. Are there things to do in town?
8. Describe the school in one word!

Hello all! I am pretty set on ED to colgate, but I really need some insight on the social scene. I know greek life participation is only for sophomores and up, so i’m assuming as a freshman I wouldn’t be able to party (please correct me if i’m wrong). What does a normal day or weekend look like? How often do people go off campus - will I feel isolated if I am someone who for example likes to go shopping on the weekends? I would get a car so i’m not super worried about that as long as there is enough entertainment on campus, I really don’t want to feel like i’m either studying or rotting in bed.

Has anyone lived in a Curtis desk hall and know what desk hutch they used? I know the desks are smaller. Thanks!

... might want in terms of a paid membership, subscription, etc. for a service, facility, venue, etc. that they might frequently use?

I will be coming to Colgate with 6 AP credits. How hard would it be to graduate early? Saving a semester or two of tuition would really make a difference.

I’m on the waitlist for Colgate and was wondering if this means anything.

Colgate sent out yet another form asking if students want to be kept on waitlist through late July…. Did everyone else get it?

Hello everyone! My name's Minh, and I'm a Vietnamese student who committed to studying at Colgate for the next 4 years with a full-ride. However, I'm basically the first person in my extended family to ever study abroad, and as such I have a tons of questions that I couldn't find a definite answer to online - mostly regarding food, housing, and actual living costs at Colgate. It would be hella awesome and I'd greatly appreciate it if any of you could help with my concerns below.
Thank you so much for answering my questions!

I'm considering Colgate, but I was wondering whether they offer graduate-level research since they don't really have any graduate programs. Any information helps, thanks!

Colgate is my only choice in the US as an international if I do get in, any shot this is a positive indication? Probably not, but I am grasping for any hope.

Colgate is like my TOPTOP CHOICE and I really wish I can attend this school in the fall. I’m on their waitlist but I showed like hella interest to the school. I sent them a email after I got waitlisted which was like 2 weeks ago and I also updated my stats on their portal. I really wish I get off :((
Pls lmk if anyone gets off the waitlist
