Which jacket/coat and I supposed to order now???

Post image

Logistik is really making this process so convenient to order a new DEU jacket/coat, since I was recently promoted.

Also, why are they offering me PO1 rank badges? The Airforce WO badge should have a blue background, right?

Any CAF members With Experience With Together We Can Treatment Centre Able To Help?

Upvotes

I apologize in advance if this post isn't appropriate.

I am trying to get my friend into a treatment centre that's appropriate for his needs. He is a combat veteran with severe PTSD and substance abuse issues. We met when we both attended Thorpe Recovery Centre In Lloydminster, AB.

In the last 30 days I've gotten my friend into ARC detox in Edmonton after having to call 911 when he slumped over in my car after pulling him out of a motel and trying to get him to an emergency room. Then while he still had his job he cleaned up for a bit and was about to fly out for a week of work. I lost contact with him until today when he reached out. He's in very rough shape and has made plans for suicide. He has talked about going to Together We Can because of its reputation with veterans in the past and said he would go if he could. I offered to pay for it because I thought it was $9k for 30 days, it took convincing because he doesn't feel good having me pay for it but he said he would go if they took him.

Now that I've looked into their programs a little I see its $9k per 30 days for a standard 90 day program but the information I gathered was ambiguous. I might not be able to afford $27k for the full program. Dose anyone know if paying for just 30 days is possible?

Would anyone know of any other suitable programs? I know he has attended EHN Guardians in the past.

Too many people I know in recovery this year have OD'd and died, I don't want to see my friend die. Again I'm sorry if this isn't the place to ask but I hope someone would have answers for me.

Are there any QL5 qualified supply techs/MMTs that I can ask questions to regarding the course?

Upvotes

Might be going on my QL5 soon and wanted to ask someone that completed it as I have a few questions just about the content and what was covered on the course.

Thank you!

  1. I don't know to what extent this is true but I've heard that QL5 is actually considerably harder than QL3 for this trade. Apparently a decent amount of people struggle during QL5 that were fine during their QL3. How does the difficulty compare to QL3?
  2. This will vary depending on who is instructing but how was the atmosphere and general vibe of the course? Was it a little more on the chill side or were there a lot of inspections/typical army discipline stuff?
  3. How is CFLTC right now? I've heard there are some understaffing issues and some other stuff going on that I won't get into the details of.
  4. Is there any review from QL3 or was it all new content?
  5. What was the general content covered? Just additional T-codes and their functions?

Anyone BMO qual'd got any list of most useful knots they know?

Upvotes

I'm a PRes Cpl and I know I'll never see a CFTPO for a decent course with my name on it so I'm just looking for a list of knots to learn and apply in the field when I can. Even if not, I'd still want to learn some new skills and see what I can do with them. Adjacent information regarding Mountain ops is also welcome. Thank you

SUPPORT PSA: There is no after hours option for the NCR IT help desk anymore

Tried to contact them and it doesn’t appear as an option anymore. Not like people sometimes work outside of typical hours or go on TD to other parts of the world… /s

The page I screenshotted it from was apparently updated in July 2026 so this may be a new change.

Base Medical Question Regarding Scalp Conditions

Upvotes

Hey there. I noticed that I exhibit symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp, and I am thinking of visiting my base medical when I can regarding this.

Will the base medical be able to cover over the counter scalp treatments or even have them…?

Reason I’m asking this is I was going to go to the grocery store, and also buy some Nizoral and MCT Oil on the way…. But I am wondering if that could be a waste of money if I can keep up the patience to wait til after labour day.

Please also share if anyone had any similar experiences (or even if going to medical helped at all) or have recommendations. Damn shame I can’t book appointments on the weekend.

SUPPORT Spouse wanting to keep working remotely for their Canadian employer during an OUTCAN posting

Upvotes

We're likely heading into a posting abroad in the next while and trying to go in with our eyes open. Likely locations are Germany, Latvia, Belgium, or Norway. A few others are in play but they are all European based
My spouse is a mid-to-senior executive with a Canadian HQ but Global company, currently working remotely and would ideally keep their role while we're posted, working remotely from the host country. The company does have some business presence in a few of these countries, and employees have been known to relocate for various reasons to Europe - so it's not entirely foreign ground for them, but we're realistic that "working from abroad" is rarely as simple as just opening a laptop in a new time zone.
What I'm hoping to hear from people who've actually done this:
How did the tax situation shake out? Did your spouse end up tax resident in the host country, and did the company have to do anything special (payroll, a local entity, etc.) to make it legal for them to keep working from there? I acknowledge that that varies from country to country.
Did work authorization or a visa/permit become an issue, even as an accompanying spouse under a status-of-forces type arrangement?

OPERATIONS MOBA on BTL

Upvotes

I'm a service spouse attached posted with my partner on their cost move. I was OFP in my previous reserve trade for a few years but had just completed a VOT and CT to a new Reg Force trade before our posting, so am currently on BTL awaiting my course in a few months. I was able to keep my rank as I had enough time in. My MOBA paperwork is in process but I was wondering if there's a chance they turn it down since I'm not OFP in my current trade? If so, will my spouse get their full amount at least?

Greetings all.
Recently my son bought this box. It is a solid box but we were wondering what was in it. It has these numbers on the side and hoping someone could say what was in it. Thank you for your time and effort.
