Newbie Seeking Advice how do i get to the poi

Guys new hunter here, wanna try to explore this area in wmu62. Question is how do i get to the area btw road 15 and mellon lake?

Seems like a marsh terran?

Any advice can help. Thanks 🙏🏻

Why not? You can hunt from a canoe, they can also carry a fuck load of weight if you need to get an animal out :)

Use satellite view it should help you see if there is a path. You can also try HuntScout it will give you elevation and more details if you need that

"How do I explore" seems like such a funny question. Two feet and a heartbeat, friend. But also, don't be the idiot. How are you at orienteering? Can you survive a night on a rocky outcropping if shit goes sour? Have you ever twisted an ankle a mile from the road and extracted yourself?

Maybe don't try to get into the weird remote area until you're comfortable enough in the backcountry and with digital scouting to not have to ask this question.

that's my question buddy, i wasn't sure if i need a canoe or not to just get there... If it's normal land sure i can feet to anywhere i wanna go. But for swampy marshy place I just don't know...

Right. And I'm saying that if you are coming to random internet strangers to ask, then maybe start somewhere easier.

It's a lot like asking someone how to remove the roll cage on your rock crawler. Sure, lots of people do it, but it's kinda irresponsible to just jump in two feet first.

If you've bushwhacked this kinda thing before, you don't need to ask how this kinda thing works

To give you a little bit off the context I was doing map scouting so I found this place seems to be like a marsh swamp place. I just don't know what is my best option to get inside. I was worried regular shoes could cause me problems but I was also not sure if the water deep enough for canoe. That's why i am posting this to ask experienced hunter's opinion on this kind of terran

I'd approach this as follows:

  • Drive a car to the nearest point, ish
  • Try to get there. You WILL get a soaker.
  • Possibly bring a pack raft to make scouting easier.
  • On the way, find 7 spots that also look great
  • Possibly cry one or several times along the way in, get excited to try again.

Unless someone has been in there and recorded their tracks and the beavers haven't done anything nor the otters since then and no trees have fallen in the meantime, no one can tell you how to get to a spot, reliably.
