The biggest concern, and this goes for most portal heavy teams not just LSU, was seeing if the team gelled well together. After this game it seems to be the case.
But yeah, people in the thread talking about how the Dabo era being over haven't been paying attention for a while. Not downplaying the win but I think most Top 15 teams would look like LSU did tonight vs this Clemson team. So I think it's still a wait and see when LSU faces a real team, but as someone that's super skeptical about transfer heavy, I'm less skeptical now. That was a very solid performance.
I was worried about coming together too. And our o line. Clemson is a real opponent though. They aren’t as good as most of our conference schedule but I doubt they lose another game by 41. And yes most any top 15 team would have easily won.
But lsu really did dominate and I haven’t seen that since 2019.
Ole Miss will be the real indicator but I had most of my worry of a 7 win season evaporate.
Clemson was ranked what, 26 or 27 preseason? Obviously these rankings aren't worth that much, but this was pretty similar to beating a barely top-25 ranked team by 40.
The Top 25 after about 15 is pretty much just a random assimilation of 10 teams from a pool of about 25 potential teams and is always a big drop off from 1-15. Still a great win but typical of a top 10 team at home vs an unranked opponent.
Oh I don't disagree with you, but its not the same as beating up on a team that's ranked in the bottom half of the power ratings like some people are out here claiming.
Yea I mean they’re power 4 which is better than who 90% of teams yesterday played. Clemson probably beats most of the teams everybody else played by 30.

Damn, LSU looks really really good. Alternatively, Clemson looks like shit. Could be both.
