Where to buy CBD - Companies with high morals and great quality

Upvotes

Vetted Companies by /r/CBD

As most of you have found out by now - CBD is hit or miss depending on where it comes from. Many people have found there are a lot of snake oil sellers out there who are preying on the sick. We are /r/CBD have come together to stop that...at least for you guys; by vetting the companies who want to advertise their products on /r/CBD. Below we will include what the vetting processed entailed, and which companies we selected because we feel they uphold a standard.

The Standard:

Each company reached out to us on their own, and then we presented them with a multi-page questionnaire about their process. These are not all the questions - we asked over 30 questions. Around 40% of the companies who wanted to be vetted - DID NOT complete this questionnaire.

Some examples of questions are:

  • Where do you source your CBD?

  • What steps are taken to keep the medicine safe from degradation?

  • Do you have all the permits required by state and county laws, to be in the cannabis industry? Please provide details.

  • Can you provide passing test results for the following: Microbiological, Aerobic count, coliforms, enterobacteria, E coli count, yeast and mold, pseudomonas, salmonella, Pesticides/carbamates, Heavy metals, organophosphates and a cannabinoid potency test.

From their answers - our moderator team looked over each and every one. This gave us a good understanding of how their company works, and let us move on to the legal side of things.

The next steps were reviewing the documents sent over. We looked up each company, made sure they had all permits required by the state in order to operate. If they did, they moved on to the last step.

Each company that made it this far sent in samples of their products. These samples were tested by patients with different ailments. A few were sent to the moderator in Florida where two patients; 1. with Cerebral Palsy. 2. with mental health disorder - tested each product sent.

The other companies sent their product to the moderator team in California, where two patients 1. with M.S 2. Disabled w/ pain management - took the samples as well.

Both teams found the samples from the companies selected to be extremely high-quality products and HAD POSITIVE RESULTS on their ailments.

The following are those companies. (This list is not set in stone, companies can be added, or removed) If you're a company, please send a private message to '/r/CBD' and the mod team can look at your company.

CBD Tincture Help - First Time User

Upvotes

Hey there,

I am a brand new CBD user and requesting help on how to use your CBD tincture. I purchased the Full Spectrum CBD tincture from Lazarus Naturals about a week ago, and I have been using it each day and have not been feeling results. I get lightheaded and sometimes my mind moves a bit slower. The first time I took it, I felt more calm, but not much since.

I want to be realistic with what CBD offers and not that it is a miracle cure. I am using it to help with anxiety, back pain, and hoping for a mood life. I weigh 165 pounds and am a male. I have used it under my tongue at 50mg each morning.

I am confused because the internet and AI say a hundred different things, and there is no prescription like a medication. So it feels like I am shooting in the dark.

  1. So as not to have unrealistic expectations, what should I be feeling or not feeling when I take CBD? What is the main purpose of taking it?

  2. How often should I be taking it (every morning and evening) and do I take it with food under the tongue or on an empty stomach?

  3. Do you have any links to articles or anything published online that can help me narrow this down?

Thank you! I want to give it a proper go and not just give up if I haven't felt much in the first week.

Anyone else check the COA before even looking at reviews?

Upvotes

I’ve gotten way more skeptical of CBD labels lately. Two products can both say “broad spectrum” and have pretty different cannabinoid profiles once you actually open the lab report. CBDistillery is one of the easier sites I’ve seen for checking this, but I wish having an obvious batch COA was just standard across the industry. Curious how much attention people actually pay to them before ordering.

Is psychosis possible with <0.3% thc cannabis?

Upvotes

Apparently in the 70s and 80s weed was only 0.2%-0.4% THC (2mg/g - 4mg/g) and there was “many” reports of cannabis related psychosis during that time.

I wonder how often those people were under the influence of other substances or even heavy street stimulants, and how much news “fabrication” is involved with those reports.

Also I wonder how much they smoked to activate the cannabis related psychosis.

Anyways, can anyone enlighten me?

CBDmd

Upvotes

Just looking for stories and experiences using products from CBDmd. I’m considering buying the broad spectrum CBD oil tincture. I’ve been struggling with anxiety lately from cutting back on my THC use. I use to either smoke 1 joint or take a few edibles at night to help with my sleep but I’ve decided to cut back to a few days a week as opposed to everyday. Been reading CBD oil can help. Thanks

Do you actually notice much difference between CBD formats?

Upvotes

Gummies are obviously convenient but tinctures seem way easier when you want control over the amount. I was looking through CBDistillery and a couple other brands and realized I keep comparing formats more than brands now. Wondering if people here eventually settle on one format or just keep different ones around.

Noob here - wife likes a brand with CBN:THC 1:1 ratio. Are others with that ratio the same thing?

Upvotes

My wife likes a gummy for sleep that has CBN:THC in a 1:1 ratio.

That product is getting hard to find. Is there more to gummies / these products than the 'recipe' / ratio?

ie is it like a generic medicine? You can buy a brand name of acetaminophen. or a generic that has the same strength of acetaminophen and they are pretty identical? or like a prescription drug.

If we can find a different product with (just) those 2 active ingredients in the same 1:1 ratio, should they perform / give the same effects as the brand we can't find?

I've heard that a few people see different performance with generic vs brand drugs because the generic might have a different coating. Or the brand product vs. generic dissolve / get absorbed at different rates.

Think that's an issue with CBN & THC?

Thanks!

Have a great holiday weekend!

New to CBD CBG

Upvotes

I recently ordered 50mg cbd 50mg cbg gummies for pain. I’m a newbie to cannabis in general. I smoked some in my twenties but not a ton. Should I start by cutting my gummies in half or even 1/4? Worried it’s going to knock me out when I have stuff to do.

Help with Anxiety and sleep

Upvotes

TL;DR: Suggestions for tinctures for intense anxiety and sleep to get off sleep meds.
-
I’m helping my friend figure out what to take. My friend Did a gummy before and tweaked, he hated that. And had some weed but don’t really like smoking it and the feeling in his lungs.

But the weed helped his anxiety and sleep a little bit, but not enough to get off sleep meds and manage the intense daily anxiety.

What tinctures do you suggest? Like what strains? I read that CBD and CBN are better for anxiety and relaxation. How much of each should be in the tincture? Like what ratio should I look for? Or should it just be all one? And also, suggestions for brands in the USA? We are in a marijuana friendly state, and he has a marijuana medical card. We have done some research but are a bit novice in this area. He is also open to trying other herbs too.

What brand and what kind of cbd does everyone use while giving yourself a self massage ?

Upvotes

I had no clue cbd could be used for massage but I was watching a video on this massage tool and the guy put cbd on his chest and started massaging his chest. He mentioned how this releases tension even more and I was like 👀. With Labor Day weekend few days away I’m thinking of making a purchase and see what happens just don’t know what exactly people use for massage

Japan's THC limit is on the finished product, not the plant - 10 ppm for oils, 0.1 ppm for drinks

Upvotes

I help organise a hemp expo in Tokyo, so I read this part of the Japanese rules more closely than I otherwise would. No link and nothing to sell, just the numbers, because they are built differently from the ones that usually come up here.

Japan's revised Cannabis Control Act took effect on 12 December 2024. The old law regulated parts of the plant, so only mature stalks and seeds could be used. The new one regulates ingredients, and the number that matters is a residual delta-9 THC limit on the finished product rather than on the crop.

Set by cabinet order, in force the same day: oils and powders 10 ppm, aqueous solutions 0.1 ppm, everything else 1 ppm. 10 ppm is 0.001 percent.

A health ministry notice from 4 October 2024 worked through examples. CBD oil, hemp seed oil and cosmetic oils sit in the 10 ppm bucket, as do CBD powder and protein. Soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and lotions sit at 0.1 ppm. Same input material, and the oil is allowed a hundred times the residual the drink is, because the limit follows the format it is finally sold in.

Where people get tangled is 0.3 percent. That figure, in the US Farm Bill and on the plant side of the framework here, is a plant measure. It is not the product limit.

Semi-synthetics are handled separately and get scheduled as they turn up. HHC was made a designated substance under the pharmaceutical law in 2022, announced 7 March and prohibited from the 17th, ten days apart.

MJBizDaily reported at the proposal stage that more than 90 percent of products then on the Japanese market would fail these limits. That is industry reporting rather than a government figure, and I'd treat it that way.

Against a 0.1 ppm ceiling, an ND line on a COA says very little on its own, unless the report also gives the limit it was reading against.

I can't tell you how any of this plays out at a border. I'm not customs and I'm not a lawyer.

Question about dosing cbd/cbn at night

Upvotes

I was looking to pick up a tincture of pure CBN and then something like a full spectrum CBD tincture so I could get the entourage effect synergy with the small amount of THC. The problem is the full spectrum ones I’ve found have 15mg of CBG too, and I’ve heard CBG can be stimulating. If I take 85mg of CBD, 15mg of CBG and 50mg of CBN is this a good combination for sleep? Or am I better off just using CBD isolate. I don’t ever use THC to get high, I just want the synergistic effects or else I would just take a hit with my isolates and I don’t want to do that. Will the CBG keep me up or will the added synergy from the 3mg of THC be worth whatever the CBG is doing to energize someone?

Recommendations for happy, calm high

Upvotes

I’m new to cannabis, I don’t smoke or vape but I’ve recently been trying edibles to help with anxiety and sleep. Some have gotten me in a good mood and happy. So I wanted to know what edibles like capsules, gummies, etc would give me a happy / calm high? Moreso what THC / CBD /CBN percentage / ratio should I look for ? The most I’ve tried is 20mg thc which made me happy but anxious later on

All types of CBD I tried caused intolerable side effects. Is there a different type that is worth trying?

Upvotes

I tried full spectrum and cbd isolate tincture. I started very low on 5 mg and progressed to 45mg on full, and 20mg on cbd isolate. Initially it seemed to relax me, but after some days both caused: mood swings, including rage; severe insomnia (couldn't sleep for days and fainted on the street) and worse anxiety.

First, thanks to everyone who’s taken action — we’re up to 1,141 letters. FWIW, here’s our read on hemp right now:

Post image
Upvotes

A lot has happened, and more still needs to happen. We thought it might be helpful to provide our assessment of what’s going on/where things stand:

 What we know:

  • The Senate passed the funding Continuing Resolution by a vote of 90-6-1 – a clear bipartisan majority.
  • The Senate CR includes a  29-bridge for most of the hemp restrictions from Nov 12 to Dec 11.
  • The Senate voted 61-32 to table, (effectively kill) Senator Budd’s amendment to strike the hemp extension from the CR.
  • The Senate adjourned for recess and does not return until September 14.
  • September 30 government funding runs out; if a CR is not passed and signed into law by that date – government shutdown - five weeks before the election.
  • Both sides, (D & R) have made statements that indicate no one has an appetite for a government shutdown.

What happens now:

  • For the CR to become law, the House and Senate ultimately have to approve the same text. The Senate-amended bill is now back in the House. If the House accepts the Senate version without changes, it can go straight to the President. If the House changes it, the Senate has to act again.
  • The House returns from their recess on August 31st – 30 days before government funding runs out.
  • On August 13, the House Rules Chairwoman – Rep Virginia Foxx said: she expects the Senate-passed funding stopgap to clear her chamber in an expedited, bipartisan vote. She went on to say, ‘I think we can just put it on the floor because I think it will pass; She also said the CR could bypass her committee. This means several things: debate is limited to 40 minutes and floor amendments are not allowed and passage requires a two-thirds majority to pass.
  • Representative Rosa DeLauro ranking Democrat on House Appropriations characterized the Senate CR as ‘a clear improvement over the House Republican continuing resolution.’
  • The White House says that if the Senate bill reaches President Trump ‘in its current form,’ his senior advisers would recommend that he sign it. (Of note, there are several significant funding restrictions in the Senate version, in addition to the hemp extension. So this WH message is significant.)

What does all this mean – here’s what it suggests to us:

  • When the House and Senate return, the mid-term election season will be in full swing.
  • The commanding Senate vote – both the passage of the CR (90-6-1) and the denial of the Budd amendment (61-32) send a strong signal to the House – there is overwhelming a bipartisan support for the CR as written. (Our interpretation – the Senate is messaging - we’re done with this, we don’t want to see it again.)
  • Given the statements by Reps Virginia Foxx(R) and Rosa DeLauro(D), we interpret their statements as – we’re also done with this, let’s pass it and get on to the election.
  • There is also the calendar to consider – House returns Aug 31, has a brief Labor Day break; the Senate returns on Sep 14. To reopen the Senate CR over a 29-day hemp bridge, debate it, change it, and then force the Senate to act again after it returns September 14 — all before September 30 — is a massive lift. The hemp restrictions are law, only the effective date changes by 29 days.

Our bottom line read: momentum is with the 29-day extension. (Of course, death and taxes are the only certainties), but with so many moving parts and a very short window, we think the odds favor the House taking the Senate package with the hemp extension intact. So – where does that leave hemp?

  • One political consequence of moving the hemp restrictions out 29 days – it removes most of the pressure of eliminating  an industry estimated around $28 billion, hundreds of thousands of jobs, and a market in which more than 50 million American adults report using CBD – beyond the election cycle. Some members will be voted out, others voted in for two or six year terms – the hemp debate gets diffused.
  • On the flip side, December 11 means - exactly two weeks before Christmas/the holiday season, those jobs will be lost, people out of work, businesses shuting down - not a popular image in Washington.
  • If the bridge gets signed, it’s not time to celebrate 29 days. It's about making sure Congress actually uses those days — and making sure hemp doesn't disappear from the conversation between signing and November 3.

That's what we think - let us know what you think.

Gut pain from quitting thc

Upvotes

Hey guys was wondering if smoking some cbd with possibly trace levels of thc or not thc at all would help with my gut motility issues. I'm on day 11 of quitting but still feeling a lot of bloating and constipation
