Mining News Just for the record.

Upvotes

No i will not be releasing my article about go mining.

I have been getting mass botted. Literal death threats. People in my dms calling me awful things.

My key points are as follows.

I was only able to verify 60% of their fleet.

The ceo stopped communicating with me when i said i was not interested in monetizing the subreddit.

The user base is being told they are mining btc. You cant mine btc on NFTs.

So. Im over it. Yall can quit with the death threats and direct messaging me. I dont care about it anymore. Even if i released my article. Yall wouldnt listen anyways. The people who know about it already know its a scam. My hands are washed. To Go Mining’s awful user base. You win. 🏆 heres your “i made death threats and won award” i have already reported the ones that needed to be reported.

To the people who wanted me to drop it. Sorry. I failed yall. Id rather not have to slime someone to protect myself.

Have a good night everyone.

Hobbyist and Lottery Mining Gekkoscience

Upvotes

I placed an order for a Terminus A2X directly through GekkoScience back on July 27th. Support told me in mid-August that the batch was on backorder but should ship by the end of August.

It's September now and I haven't received a tracking number or any new updates. Has anyone else who ordered around late July or August had their batch ship out yet, or heard anything from Sidehack recently? Appreciate any insights!

General Question Install custom firmware on Amlogic boards

Post image
Upvotes

Someone knows how to install vnish or other firmware on an Antminer S19J Pro+ Amlogic.

I am trying with an OTG in fat32 and passing the files from the firmware to the usb and then connecting it to the miner on the micro usb port, but it always loads the firmware of the factory.

General Discussion NerdQX/QX1 owners. how good is 8.13 TH/s at 153W / 18.8 J/TH with 0 rejects?

Upvotes

Running this at 1000 MHz / 2.44 V and it seems extremely stable.

Current numbers after 6h 40m:

  • 8.13 TH/s actual
  • 8.16 TH/s expected
  • 152.9 W
  • 18.81 J/TH
  • 0.00% rejected shares (1,800+ shares)
  • ASIC: 57.8°C
  • VRM: 60.8°C
  • Fans only around 40–44%
  • Hashrate graph is basically flat

Screenshot attached.

For people who own/tune these: where would you rate this setup compared with other QX1/NerdQX units? Is sub 18.8 J/TH at 8.1 TH/s considered particularly good, average, or is there still meaningful efficiency left on the table?, specifically looking for per asic voltage/frequency tuning via custom firmware if that is a thing.

I’m more interested in 24/7 stability/efficiency than chasing maximum TH/s.

General Question S19j solo mining

Upvotes

Is it feasible to solo mine BCH with an antminer s19j? Seems like the monthly chances are 1 in 7 for 104Th, and the payout would be $700ish. I'm sure I'm missing something with this idea

General Discussion Deep-tech question: would an ultra-efficient residential Bitcoin miner fundamentally change the mining market?

Upvotes

I’m researching a deep-tech hardware concept around one question:

What would happen to the Bitcoin mining market if data-center-class hashing power could eventually be delivered from a residential 230V power connection?

The long-term research target is extremely ambitious:

  • Up to 418 PH/s
  • 230V AC
  • Maximum power envelope around 10 kW
  • Very low indoor noise
  • Designed for solo mining as well as conventional mining
  • Residential / prosumer installation
  • Potential heat recovery rather than simply exhausting the thermal energy

To be completely clear:

This performance has not been demonstrated. It is a long-term R&D target, not a product specification that exists today.

The project is exploring whether radically different compute technologies could move SHA-256 efficiency far beyond conventional mining ASIC architectures.

I’m deliberately not discussing the technical architecture publicly at this stage.

What I’m interested in understanding is the market side.

If a machine like this became technically possible:

  1. Would serious miners actually want a residential/prosumer product at this level of hashrate?
  2. Would low noise and usable waste heat materially change where miners can be deployed?
  3. Would you prefer one extremely powerful machine or multiple smaller modular units?
  4. For solo miners, at what hashrate does owning the hardware become genuinely interesting to you?
  5. What would matter most after efficiency: purchase price, reliability, repairability, firmware, heat reuse, or something else?
  6. For people involved in semiconductor, cryogenic, hard-tech or energy investing: what technical milestone would you need to see before taking a project this ambitious seriously?

I’m not raising money or selling anything through this post.

I’m trying to understand whether solving this problem would create a genuinely valuable product — and what experienced miners and hard-tech people would consider convincing evidence.

Critical feedback is welcome.

General Discussion How much does climate actually matter for mining?

Upvotes

People compare $/kWh all day, but climate matters too IMO.

Same ASIC, same power rate:

Cooler site: less heat, fans don’t have to work as hard, lower chance of throttling.

Hot/humid site: more cooling needed, fans run harder, heat can become a bigger problem

That said, a well-built hot site can still beat a badly managed cold one. Airflow, dust, cooling and maintenance matter a lot.

Is this a big difference for you? or naaah?

General Question Old antminer s19s basically worthless now?

Upvotes

Bought 4 of them years ago, they were obviously expensive / semi expensive at the time, been thinking about taking them all offline now they cost more to run than what they bring in, so I decided to just Google them and see what they were selling for..... I found $150 on ebay and Facebook market place and it just blew my mind. Obviously they aren't worth what they were when they were new, but $100? $200? That seems crazy. The cost on shipping them back is roughly $98 per miner

I feel like I'm going crazy and need validation lol

General Question BSB NerdOctaxe

Upvotes

Hey guys, I have a BSB NerdOctaxe running at around 12 TH/s. It does reach 12 TH/s, but I'm pulling about 262 watts at the wall, which seems a little high to me.

I checked the miner settings and found:

  • Core voltage: 1210 (default)
  • Frequency: 740 (custom)

I'm trying to lower the power consumption while keeping as much hashrate as possible. Any advice on what settings I should try to reduce the watts at the wall? Maybe lowering the frequency or voltage? I'd appreciate any suggestions from anyone running a similar setup.

Mining News Don’t mine bitcoin with this mining app. Last year my bitcoin was at .000445 I spent over $700 for the faster mining options. Last 10 months I’ve been mining everyday all day using the free options and have been waiting for that 44 to turn 45 but now look.

General Question is it worth upgrading to a sub-10 J/TH miner or keep running my old one

Upvotes

I'm starting to see machines like the S23 Hydro 3U at ~9.5 J/TH and the A4 Ultra Hydro at ~9.45 J/TH.

On paper, that’s a big efficiency jump compared with a lot of older ASICs. But replacing working hardware also means paying for the new machine, dealing with hydro infrastructure, and calculating how long the efficiency savings take to cover the upgrade.

For anyone who has actually upgraded recently: what did you replace, what are you running now, and did the power savings make it worthwhile?

Would be useful to compare some real-world numbers.

This is a dual BM1373 home Bitcoin miner that can push up to 10 TH/s in one compact unit.

It uses a large 120mm cooler, oversized heatsink, and 8 copper heat pipes to keep both BM1373 chips cool at full 10T. No rear fan needed, and no extra upgrades required.

It comes with the 12v 240W PSU to give it enough headroom to hit 10 TH/s right out of the box, so there are no extra parts to source or modifications to make.

Lastly, It comes in a nice retail box ensuring the device arrives unharmed. Hammer miner has FCC and CE cert on all their devices as well which is important for a home device.

We tested the Thor P2 at the wall, not just from UI readings or manufacturer specs.

Low Power Mode
4.8 TH/s
50W at the wall
10.4 J/TH
35 dB

Normal Mode
6.8 TH/s
88W at the wall

General Question How to glue a heatsink

Upvotes

Hi, I was doing maintenance on an S10J Pro+ and accidentally detached a heatsink from a chip.

Does anyone have any idea how to glue it back on? The AI told me to use thermal glue. Can anyone help me?

General Discussion Follow-up: BM1373 ASIC Voltage Reading — 1.00V Set vs. 2.34V Reported

Post image
Upvotes

I tested the voltage range from 1100 mV to 1800 mV. Below 1800 mV, the actual ASIC voltage does not match the set voltage. It only starts to match the configured voltage when the setting exceeds 1800 mV.

I was completely puzzled by this for a long time. Then, at one point, I suddenly realized that the default voltage setting range is 1800–2600 mV. This could be the reason.

Troubleshooting & Repair 🙏 Try ASIC Intelligence, Free to use.

Upvotes

I just publicly released ASIC Intelligence Plugin/Skill Package v1.1.0 — Bitcoin Mining Troubleshooter, and it’s free to use.

It lets you give AI real mining evidence — logs, fleet exports, telemetry, repair history, power, network, and thermal data — and ask:

What’s actually going on?

It is deliberately read-only:

  • No miner reboots
  • No firmware changes
  • No pool/wallet changes
  • No equipment control

It focuses on evidence, likely causes, confidence, and the next safe diagnostic check.

Available for Codex, Claude Code, and portable Agent Skill systems.
