Adding on top automobileholism in Poland and you have a picture when people would rather be consumed by train than scratch a body of a car. May be just me but I think Poland has quite a representation on this sub.

Those arms are usually designed so they fall off. Even if damaged repair is probably like few hundreds EUR.
But hey, why risk few hundreds of EUR damage, if you can go ALL IN!

Fine. They build locomotives pretty stout. Short of some scratches and bending the railing, I doubt there was any damage. There are actually 2 walls protecting the crew on the front of them.

The train's driver/engineer is always at the front. In some cases the locomotive is at the rear of the train and is remote controlled from a driving cab at the end of the leading passenger car, but the driver is still at the front of the train in this case.

That isn't why he stopped. Looks like it was overweight when he tried to cross then went backwards to try to move over it again and then the arms came down and he was still trying to move forward. The first video of it showed the entire thing

Yes, but the truck stops because the driver applies brakes before hitting the gate in front or when he sees the gate on the other lane ripping the tarp on the trailer. Not because it is overweight or lacks power. Thus the reverse lights and brake lights.

So, from the first angle I thought the trucker had stalled or something, but from the reverse lights on the trailer it seems like they literally got to the point of straddling the tracks and then suddenly had decision paralysis about the best way to not be on train tracks, and got hit while they were shifting back and forth indecisivly.
I am hoping it's not actually that stupid.

There are three at-grade car-and-rail crossings next to the bike path I use to commute to work. Once or twice a day, a train will travel on the tracks.
Drivers often stop for cyclists or at traffic lights without considering the risk of being on or too close to the tracks.

What is the time difference after gate closing and train arrives? When I watched the other videos it seems less than 30 sec. Is it the normal where I live I see the crossing closes before atleast three minutes before the train passes.

yeap 30 sec is most common time in Poland, some places has longer if crossroad has history of jaming or if rail in this part of track is moving in very high speed.
But on top of 30 sec you got additional time(also like 30-60 sec) of blinking lights before closing of gate and sign about railcross few hundret meters before crossing.
In places like this it cant be too long cuz its one of many key roads nearby and if traffic stops for too long all other nearby crossroad will jam so minimal interruption time is required.
This place very rarely has any collision, mainly its car bumping in another car's back cuz second car didnt break fast enough, not train mowing carsThat driver ignored blinking lights, lights changing to constant red light and wasted time to trying prevent tearing fabric of his truck

Sometimes even Darwin misses. I saw one where the dude got bitch slapped by a train and got up. Then of course there's that cow from the other week - which is seriously wild. I don't need the red mist and I am certainly past the age of wanting to go searching for the gore sites but it is always nice if these narcissists get a scare.
