Finished Piece First attempt at beaded fringe earrings! šŸ˜…

Post image
Upvotes

Like the title says, this was my first attempt at fringe earrings. It took a few hours but I was able to complete the second one faster than the first. I didn't follow a tutorial, I just found a picture online and copied it as well as possible. I'm not really familiar with brick stitch so that was also a challenge. I'd appreciate any feedback or constructive criticism anyone has to offer! TIA! šŸ™šŸ»šŸ«¶šŸ»

Finished Piece Latest project completed

People always ask me how long these projects take me, and one of these days I should keep count because......hours. Many, many, many hours.

This is my first time making a collar like this. I made the pattern pieces by using a thin red painters tape on my dress dummy, then draping a thin white cotton over it to trace. Traced the pattern onto felt pieces, which I put into an embroidery hoop to bead. Once each panel was done, I backed it with canvas, folded the seam allowances, and felled them down.

I did, however, have to fill in the gaps between panels because it was impossible to get the panels close together. And of course I also had to bead around the grommets once they were in place.

This was a massive learning experience, and I've already got ideas for 2 more but I'm going to try some different techniques for the next one.

Need Help! Best online wholesalers?

I recently just got into jewelry making. I have a few local bead stores by me that I love, but they don’t have great charms and higher quality jewelry components, like clasps. What are the best online resources for high-quality beads and charms if I’m looking for crystals, real stones & gold plated? Here are some examples of my work. Thanks for the help!!

Made this purse for my mother in law.

Dug through her 40 year collection of Mardi Gras beads to find the perfect strap.

I'm so pleased with how it turned out.

Not sure what else to call it 😭 definitely just love the mindless beading when I need to decompress.

(Not sure what I’m gonna do with it or what to use it for, any ideas welcomed on that)

(UPDATE: if anybody finds weird beads that they think would go with this please link it to me.
I would love to add weirder shaped beads. Thank you!!!)

Been making choker necklaces with SuperDuos, GemDuos, and other 2 hole Czech glass beads. Originally about a decade ago I made the ā€œSuperduo Flower Chain Braceletā€ by Linda’s Crafty Inspirations and these are adapted from that pattern. I love making & wearing them so much!

I had an idea to get a dedicated handheld vacuum for bead organization and today I got to try it out… I’m SO chuffed that this worked! I wish I had thought of this months ago!

Finished Piece Toho Aiko Vs Miyuki Delicas

Post image
Upvotes

Left: 100 % Toho Aiko
Right: 10 % Toho Aiko, 90% Delicas

In my previous post, a redditor commented the degree of similarity increases when they are hanging vs laying flat. Yes but toho aiko fringes still look a lot better hanging.

There is a mistake on the bottom right of the black earring on the far right and the reason is at one point I was confused by the different lengths despite bead count being correct, and tried salvaging it without having to redo five strands back.

Long story short, miyuki is so hard, time consuming and frustrating to work with for fringes, I will not use them again for large areas.

Design not my own- inspired by Rubinski Works

Update: too many asked so here’s my answer. I used KO Thread and bought everything from Perles and co

Finished Piece More bracelets :D

Man I so can't wait for my paycheck to come so I can go ham in a bead store and get myself some actual quality beads

But anyways some more bracelets! I really like the design of the purple one though the tension sure is something in it as it's stiff as a brick while in the hanging part I didn't notice that I left a loose part before it was too late šŸ˜…

Imma definitely recreate it some day, especially once I aquire a needle for beading 'cause passing through the tiny holes with just the thread and my fingers is a bit of a pain in the ass at times

The yellow bracelet was for my boyfriend's sister as a business exchange so she makes me a bead tray out of clay inspired by one I saw posted here and the flowers chain was for my coworker!
