About two weeks ago, I applied for a credit card with Bank of America. Approximately two weeks later, I received an email from Bank of America with instructions on how to take the next step with my credit card application. The email appears to be legitimate because the sender is verified.
About two hours later, I received a call from +1 (866) 701-3832, but I didn’t answer because I was busy.
Then I received an SMS from 20504 saying:
“BofA was unable to reach you today regarding your request. Please call us at 866-701-3832. Reply HELP or STOP to stop texts from short code 20504.”
I searched the phone number online, and apparently, it has been reported as a scam. So now I’m not sure if the call and text message are actually from Bank of America or if someone is trying to scam me.

I've setup a "Digital Card" in the BofA Mobile App for my Debit Card. It gave me a new account number and CVV for the virtual card.

Can I use this to setup my Paramount+ Monthly subscription (and ultimately get the BOA Rewards discount) ?

Or does the constantly changing CVV cause a problem with this idea?

I typically keep my Debit Card locked. I was going to unlock it for the initial Paramount+ payment, but after that lock it. My understanding is that recurring subscriptions won't be impacted by the Card Lock.

Recently reached Premier Tier to maintain 75% CC bonus and plan to use subscription benefit for Paramount+, but browsing through the lifestyle benefits I’m not seeing anything that great for Premier Tier, just modest discounts on expensive items or more subscriptions. Anyone else with Premier Tier find anything worthwhile with the lifestyle benefits?

I tried to order something online and my card declined, along with Bank of America locking my card. When I log into the app there’s a notification saying my card has been restricted until I review some suspicious transactions. I go to review them, confirm they were all my own, and this keeps popping up no matter how much I scroll on or press each transaction. Is there a way to fix this, or somewhere to call?

Are the 10-75% cash back bonuses applied on purchase time or point redemption time? For example, if you are close to going up a tier, is there any benefit in waiting to redeem your points for cash?

Hi everyone! I recently applied for a Relationship Banker position at BofA. I made it through the HireVue and had a phone interview with the recruiter, which I thought went pretty well coz the recruiting manager who did the interview told me that it can take a couple of days sometimes weeks before they schedule the in-person interview I was expecting the next step to be an in-person interview, but I ended up getting a rejection email instead. 😭

Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it normal to get rejected after the recruiter phone interview before meeting the branch manager? And for those who made it to the in-person interview, how long did it take to hear back?

Edit: I was even referred by someone I used to work with, now Senior Banker at BofA.

Hi everyone—I’ve been scrolling through this Reddit and am seeing a lot of helpful comments but haven’t quite found something for my specific issue so I’ll ask.

BOA froze my business accounts and after a bit of back and forth finally said they are trying to verify an incoming wire and are waiting a response from the remitter (sender?). The sender is also a BOA client and a long time client. They do not see any emails or any calls suggesting they are being reached out to on their end. Any time I try to ask if there are alternatives I am hit with the generic security response of specific instructions were sent to the remitter.

Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks.

If something happens to one card, everyone has to have their card cancelled. I have cards with various banks and I didn’t realize it was still a thing to have the whole family inconvenienced if one kid misplaces their card. In our case, it wasn’t even the fault of a family member. I got the two adults cards initially then called to add my kids. The kids’ cards were sent out but never reached us. Now instead of just having those two re-sent, we’ve had to cancel our cards and have all four sent. Meaning we have to change over every autopay again. We only just finished entering our new BofA numbers into everything. And apparently there’s a charge to expedite shipping, too. With our last family card, we were able to turn off just one so if a kid misplaced their card, it wasn’t a family panic until it was found.

I recently got an Alaska Atmos Rewards credit card. I am trying to add this card to the Google Wallet on my Android phone but I keep seeing a 'Call bank to verify' option and nothing else. I also don't see any option in the website to add a virtual card to my wallet. Has anyone added this card to your Google wallet app?

Bank of America Relationship:

Account: Opened an Advantage Plus Checking account in-branch 5 days ago.

Funding: Deposited $2,500 cash at opening to trigger relationship status and waive checking fees.

Status: The card isn't showing under my "Personalized Offers" yet (likely too new), but it is visible under the standard online banking Credit Cards tab while I'm logged in.

What are my realistic odds of a clean auto-approval? Does anyone have experience applying right after opening a checking account, or should I wait until my first business payroll direct deposit hits the account to season the relationship more?

Hello y’all, I have a few questions, and I hope somebody can answer them:

1. Can a non-client deposit cash into a client’s account by providing the account number?

2. If a non-client wants to cash a check, how do you verify that the check is legitimate and that the account has sufficient funds?

3. As far as I know, if a client wants to cash a check drawn on another bank, they need to have sufficient available funds in their account. Is that correct? But if it’s a Bank of America check, does the customer still need matching funds?

4. If you accidentally scan a check drawn on Chase when the intended transaction is to cash it, will the system alert you?

5. Do you always trust the system? For example, if you scan a check and the account doesn’t have sufficient funds or there’s another issue, will the system automatically prompt you?

Any tips for cash window

I’ve been using boa for 17 years now. Today was the first time an atm gave me an issue. I can’t report it until Tuesday because it’s Sunday now and tomorrow is a holiday. ATM counted my deposit $4,600 short. I’ve been reading it can take up to 45 days to get that money back. I’ve also read the 3rd party company that counts the money are not always reliable. This is going to eat me up until Tuesday when I get to speak to someone.

I have 3 separate Priority Passes (Chase Sapphire Reserve, Amex Plat, BofA Premium Elite), for background. I was able to sign into all of them using the new Priority Pass+ app at the beginning. However, my Bank of America one all in a sudden shows expired, even though it isn't, and was moved to the archive section.

Other context:
\- My membership renewed in July, automatically as my credit card is still open.
\- I can't be 100% sure of this one, but I do believe 2 if not all 3 of my memberships share the same email address.
\- I am able to use the old Priority Pass app still to access my BofA Prirority Pass membership.

Has anyone experienced something similar and know how to fix it?

Out of many bank apps, BofA is probably the least useful app. The app doesn’t have external bank transfer option and you’ve to log in from desktop to see that. Also the CD doesn’t show the details like other banks app do. Bank of America needs to fix it.

It’s only because Merrill Edge integration I am still using it.

I am wondering if anyone has been successful using the Sam's Club membership deal (see pictures below). The instructions here are not accurate. When I copy the code and go to the Sam's Club website, there is no place at checkout to apply the code. Has anyone been able to get this just by using the link and your eligible card? Thanks.

I have been a boa customer for many years and I now have to pay my credit card on a different screen than the rest of my bills.

Why would they change the process? It takes more clicks and is basically a pain for such a simple process.

The change makes absolutely no sense.

I guess my rant is over for now.

BoA, as a payment processor can you stop marking envelopes with "payment enclosed"? I work with a non-profit/ government organizations and I'm frequently making purchases that I get reimbursed. I also get informed delivery from USPS and I am very meticulous about checking what I get each day and what comes in. It is 99% consistent that what the delivery says I'll get that day is in the mailbox. That one percent are your checks. Without fail, 1/4 don't make it to my mail box the day of and I have to mark them missing, and eventually file a missing mail report. At this point I'd prefer inconspicuousness over perceived security.

Recently had my first even dispute in 20 years of banking, anyways, it was denied but i think boa sent it to the card network under an entirely different condition. I.e. i received an expensive counterfeit product, filed for counterfeit with documentation, and the merchant just responded with “customers used card and authorized transaction”, which had nothing to do with the actual claim which was counterfeit.

The denial letter I got says to please contact boa if i have more information, but it has no contact information? The phone number I found identifies the claim and says its closed then hangs up.

Anyone have any advice on who to contact?

Hi guys to make this quick has anybody account has had this happen to it? I made my bank account online without going to an actual bank and I keep calling their customer service but yet they cant find a solution I cant go to any bank bc I work and get out right after they close and to make an appointment it takes 2 whole weeks to get one but I need to access my acc asap to pay bills, if anyone can help me I would be very thankful thanks a lot.
