Always stand clear of the ladder, too.

Well that’s too damn bad! You keep digging!

u/PitoChueco 7h ago

Dog tired

u/leertem50 7h ago

John Coffey energy right here

u/ka002 6h ago

KC is getting some rain this week. The cool off will help us hopefully 🤞

u/HanselSoHotRightNow 4h ago

This is a good reminder to go to bed, why am I still online.

u/Bongressman 4h ago

Been laid off since last July. Still tired. Can't win either way.

u/West_Banana9704 6h ago

I wish I had a job to dread going into.

Well no thats not true. I wish I had the money from a job.

u/sweet_creature19 8h ago

Same 🤝. I really hate being unemployed but I can’t say I love being employed either. I do love having money.

u/PJammas41 7h ago

Same boat my friends. I love the freedom, but why does it cost money?!?

u/-CynicRoot- 6h ago

Being poor is expensive

Two of the worst feelings in the world are being employed and being unemployed

u/imkatastrophic 4h ago

I’ve got the trifecta of a shit work situation right now: I am unemployed, but I am in grad school doing 20 hours per week of unpaid labor. So, not only am I working for free, I’m actually losing money (tuition, rent, groceries, etc.)

Hoping for better after graduation this spring!

I have a physical for a job offer tomorrow. I'm banking on winning the lottery tonight.

u/TheeDonSpectacularis 3h ago

If you win, please be my sugar daddy. Or sugar mommy. Or sugar doggy (if you are a dog using the internet by any chance).

Laid off two months ago from a tech job. Basement flooded over the holiday weekend from a backed up sewage line and my wife threw her back out during the immediate cleanup and had to go to the emergency room. I’ve been playing both janitor and maid while being stressed about severance coming to an end with no real prospects yet.

Fun times!

u/vagrantprodigy07 5h ago

Same here. I'm exhausted and unemployed.

u/Odd_Broccoli_7706 4h ago

Same. I dont really want to get back to working, but I need to get back to work to make a decent living again lol. Unemployment has been awful with this job market though

On a scale of 1 = This is rather nice to 10 = I'm out. I am sitting at about 9.5

Time is transient. It will be Thursday by tomorrow!

u/VoldemortsHorcrux 6h ago

Then it'll be Monday in no time too. And then blink a few more times and you're a 65 year old person who's been through 30 more years of this. Fuck

u/contemplating-coffee 5h ago

I think about this all the time. How many years I’ve spent just wanting it to be the weekend and then dreading when Monday comes. 😭

u/Consistent-Energy507 5h ago

I do too.... such a fucking sad existence in that respect.

And it doesn't even have to be this way. It never had to be this way. But thanks to shitty city planning ever since the invention of the automobile, and a slew of terrible federal decisions over the same time period, home unaffordability and wage slavery is the default for all born into existence (at least, in the USA).

u/Hartlenny 3h ago

u/akujunkan 7h ago

i’m literally one shitty email away from walking away from a 16 year career

u/Tawnyk 6h ago

Same. Toxic work environment makes me want to walk away after 14 years.

u/eyehatetofu 8h ago

I like my job for the most part. Still always dread going back after the weekend. On a scale from 1-10, I'd say like 6.

u/DemiseofReality 6h ago

I had to find the borderline positive comment. I do what I studied for a living, get paid well and have decent coworkers and a boss. Plus I get to go out to a new site to scope out work tomorrow. I love business development from scratch so of all possible post labor day Tuesdays, this is actually probably a 2 or 3 for me on your scale.

u/whisar09 5h ago

It's so stupid that I love my job and yet I never want to go.

u/MysticGrapefruit 5h ago

Same boat for me. Never really past a 6 or 7. Grateful for that compared to many old jobs I've had.

u/octobereighteenth 8h ago

I'm failing my probation and will be let go on Thursday, have seen the report.

Dead man walking.

u/splicepark 7h ago

well at least you don’t have to put any effort in this week!

u/iiiiiiiiiijjjjjj 6h ago

What happened?

u/tough_cookie3 8h ago

Sorry random stranger, that sucks. Can you file for unemployment?

u/iamblankenstein 6h ago

sounds like a good reason to not bother going in.

u/FirmPrune87 7h ago

Not at all! I clean houses for a living, it's my own little business. I love all of my clients! The lady I'm cleaning for tomorrow is 72. She just lost her boyfriend of 11 years. He got diagnosed with cancer and declined very quickly. I had the pleasure of meeting him three times before he passed. This woman is adorable and so kind to me. She always has her hair done, makeup on point, and wearing some adorable outfit with jewelry to match. She tells me all kinds of stories from when she was my age. She's such a cool lady. A lot of cleaners don't like when their clients are home and they're trying to work. However, I Love It. The majority of my clientele are seniors who genuinely need the help and are so so appreciative. I have become close with all of them. I never knew my grandmother and very rarely got to see my grandfather. So in a way, I have acquired 15 or so grandparents. I feel lucky

u/lstrac 5h ago

aw this is so sweet and you also sound like the sweetest person ever! <3

u/dizzy4121989 8h ago

Soooo much. I had a week off plus today. Feeling brutal af. I don’t wanna!

u/SleepForLess 8h ago

Same. Had the week off and today and I absolutely do not want to do it tomorrow.

u/hammey 7h ago

Me too. So full of dread

u/run_all_you_want 7h ago

I just finished 7 weeks off, going back tomorrow :|

u/dizzy4121989 7h ago

Fucking yikes dude! That’s rough.

u/Aedarrow 7h ago

Same. Took vacation from last Tuesday. Going back in to the office tomorrow. Fully dreading it.

Moms memorial was Saturday, I took off today and I really don't want to go in tomorrow either. I just want to sleep.

u/iamwayycoolerthanyou 6h ago

Call in sick, who cares.

Sorry for your loss.

u/para_diddle 6h ago

My condolences 🫂 That is so rough.

u/MiJohan 5h ago

If you can do it, call in sick and sleep. Grief is exhausting. You need to do your best to take care of yourself. Sorry for your loss.

u/Giver35 3h ago

Many states have protected leave by law, it's worth looking into. Your company may have that also (perhaps even paid), although many managers are uneducated on the topic so you'll have to review policies yourself

u/Dire_Honeybadger 4h ago

If you have the ability to, call in. Give yourself time to rest. When my dad died, I went back to work far too soon and the stress of everything was brutal. One of the worst mistakes I've ever made. Take care of yourself and I'm so sorry for your loss.

Yeah tomorrow is gonna suck. Have to break the news to the boss about a part that isn't shipping on time that will cause about $900k worth of jobs to not ship this month

u/thebigarn 8h ago

I was dreading tonight Saturday morning. 22 years in at this place in particular and 25 in the same type of work and I’m at the idk how much more I got.

u/This_Makes_No__Sense 3h ago

I’m around the same on both. I‘ve been peppering in hours so i can not burn out.

u/stephenpowns 8h ago

Eh. There are worse things in the world.

u/Sunny_Spirit_550 7h ago

I needed to read this, you're absolutely right. My anxiety is always elevated when returning to work after the wknd. But I need to put things into perspective.

u/VoldemortsHorcrux 6h ago

True. Nepal flood. Ukraine war. Gaza. 3rd world countries... but still i don't like my job anymore

If I think about it, I’ll cry. I don’t know what I still subject myself to this. Why… just so I don’t lose eight hours pay being held hostage.

u/lolobean13 6h ago

How much are you getting paid?

u/GaryNOVA 7h ago

I’m retired since October. No work. I’m gonna play Diablo 4 in my pajamas all day. And there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

u/HardRockGeologist 4h ago

Retired as well. I'll be toiling away on the golf course tomorrow.

u/Previous_Medium_4613 7h ago

So much. I’m pregnant and just exhausted.

u/nightmareinsouffle 7h ago

Same, girl. 30 weeks here, but I'm glad I had the chance to rest a lot this weekend and still get some stuff done.

u/TurmoilnTinfoil 8h ago

3.7 billion out of 10

u/notsure500 8h ago

All the way max. I hate it so much it takes away usually one day per weekend dreading it. So with the 3 day weekend, it felt like i finally had a 2 day weekend before using up all day stressing about tomorrow.

u/MakeMeMooo 8h ago

Imma teacher, and tomorrow is the first day back, so…. Yeahhhhhh I’m dreading it.

u/VoldemortsHorcrux 6h ago

Sounds awful. I do take 3 weeks or so off in December and its like death going back. Going back after 3 months would be the worst. And being a teacher with low pay doesnt sound fun either.

u/TrixnTim 6h ago

In public ed, too. We started back on Aug 27. The students. Teachers a week prior for unnecessary training and forced socialization. I’m already completely exhausted and not sleeping at night. A few weeks ago I was having a wonderful summer. It hits so hard.

u/MakeMeMooo 6h ago

😢

u/ObeyTheLawSon7 8h ago

What kind of teacher?

u/MakeMeMooo 8h ago

public HS

u/ObeyTheLawSon7 8h ago

Sounds dreadful

u/MakeMeMooo 8h ago

🫪

u/MiJohan 5h ago

We started back last week and I was so exhausted over the weekend. And somehow four day weeks seem longer than regular weeks.

u/ibonek_naw_ibo 8h ago

Considering it's objectively going to be the hardest day yet, and I'm the new guy, on a scale from 1-10, over 9000

u/Zurpborne 8h ago

I could shit my own soul out I’m dreading it so much. Im genuinely in despair

u/BuddyDifficult5332 7h ago

Jobless currently. But somehow still don't want to go into work tomorrow.

I'm hearing back on a job interview tomorrow. Hopefully.

u/Better-Lawyer-3423 4h ago

I am tired 😪

u/LowCan9268 8h ago

As someone waiting for disability, fuck I wish I was working tomorrow.

u/dragonsfire14 8h ago

My job setups a little different. I do gig/contract work but I have to work tomorrow. I took a whole 3 days off because I was tired and I already dread trying to self motivate tomorrow. Not really much choice because some bills are coming up.

u/awakeperchance 8h ago

My job isn't exactly pure pleasure, but it's good enough that most days I can go into it happily. I don't so much get excited for work as I get excited for all the little moments I'll have during the day. Work just happens in the background of that.

u/para_diddle 6h ago

I love that perspective! 😊

u/AellaReeves 8h ago

On a scale of 1 to 10 - about a 20. I hate my job very very very much.

u/splicepark 7h ago

Every time I look at the clock I think “nooooo don’t be tomorrow yet” but it does not work 😫

u/Familiar-Highlight14 7h ago

Day after a three day weekend, which always sucks at a call center. Plus, the bank I work for updated some systems starting last week and people were already pissed.

So I get to deal with the normal post holiday madness, the extra mad folks from last week who hadn't bothered to read any of the stuff we sent out to them, and a new system I was barely trained on.

Whee.

u/dwarvish1 6h ago

I am at work currently. It is not so bad. Much like any other day.

u/Molang3 8h ago

So tired boss.

u/yungspritecan 8h ago

Delayed flight home will land at 1 am. Its gonna be a sunglasses on & monster energy type of morning.

u/TheJewBakka 7h ago

At least its only a 4 day week. And one half of those days I'll be driving from Albuquerque to Santa Fe and back.

u/adaminjapan 7h ago

Very much so.

u/LunchBoxMercenary 7h ago

I took off tomorrow and Wednesday, so not bad at all

u/aReelProblem 7h ago

Yall get days off?! Im in the wrong field.

u/SomeGuyInSanJoseCa 7h ago

I am actually looking forward to it.

I am working on a project that is terrible - but I got approved for an internal transfer. So, I am a lame duck and am gone by the end of the month.

And here's the other thing. This project sucks. It was architected wrong, would cause a shit load of problems if it is put into production, and overall just make my current team's life's miserable if they have to support it. So, I have to get it working functionally, but make it's my team's best interest that I do a shitty job so that they stop funding it.

Also, I'm tired at home. My wife is recovering from COVID, so this whole weekend I had house work, kid duty, and catching up on random shit.

u/ssaiko_kandy 6h ago

I'm not. I got a job that's genuinely something that plays well into my skill set :) it makes me happy

u/isospeedrix 6h ago

Against the grain.

I NEED to go to work. Project due in a few weeks and im the team lead. The project isn’t going to do itself. Any holidays just means less time finish it. Stressful.

u/Stanical666 5h ago

Lol tomorrow is my first day off! Work in outdoor recreation and you will for sure never have holidays off.

u/TheStabbyCyclist 7h ago

Not at all. I'm looking forward to it.

u/simplyjustaconcept 6h ago

Ditto! I really enjoy my job.

Took my 19 years of being in the workforce to finally find the right place for me. I’m very grateful to be doing something I enjoy with people I actually like.

u/rohttn13 8h ago

not at all. i enjoy what i do. teacher for decades...gotta finish up a map project

u/TheParadoxigm 8h ago

I don't work tomorrow, which is the problem.

u/VonZombie420 8h ago

I'm not. I took a PTO. But, work is gonna come at me like a freight train on Wednesday 🥹

u/Marco_Polo1964 8h ago

Same here…but at least it’s a 3-day work week!

u/IndividualVehicle 8h ago

I have to be up at 5am for an unpaid 8 hour "shift" in the XRAY department 🫠

u/Redvelvet_swissroll 8h ago

I’m not cus it was my last day today 🥳

u/Castelante 8h ago

Dreading. I’ve got another job lined up, but it doesn’t start until November.

I thought it’d be easy dealing with the bullshit now that I’ve got a way out, but they’re just piling it on faster than ever.

u/jeniuseyourtelescope 8h ago

i’m not. the busy of my day tomorrow is gonna distract me from the significant personal stress and lack of support i have for what i’m going through.

u/Tallergeese 7h ago

I've been really burnt out for months. I've told myself that I'll stick it out until my next vesting date next month and then take leave or quit.

u/Prudent_Honeydew_ 7h ago

Whatever is at the top of the scale.

u/Fishtaco1234 7h ago

1000 projects to get done before Q4. Just kill me.

u/Dopdee 7h ago

110%

u/Sweet-Palpitation473 7h ago

Lol fuck you id almost forgotten I have to go to bed soon, you dink

u/Switchbladekitten 7h ago

I’m on medical leave for another 2 weeks heh hehhhhhh. Like 3 people decided to quit during my leave and I’m really glad I’m not there right now. 🤭

u/Unicorn_Puppy 7h ago

With 0 being none and 10 being the worst 2.5cis where in sotting.

In two weeks I’m going on vacation and I am terrified of missing my flights, Russia attacking NATO or not being able to get home.

u/Rat-Daddy-Splinter 6h ago

No work tomorrow, but I have a job interview. I’ve had so many interviews over the past four years that went nowhere and it’s starting to feel hopeless. Due to a combination of factors (some admittedly might be my fault, but other things I genuinely have no control over) I’ve never even had a job before, which makes it even harder.

So if I get the job I guess it will not be dread, but a mix of fear and excitement.

u/Nonamanadus 6h ago

Jokes on you I have no job......... :(

u/ScienceGeeksRule 6h ago

No dread. I have a couple of interesting projects to start tomorrow. And they will include walking around a bit outside and the weather should be pleasant.

u/ChiefD789 6h ago

I’m not dreading it. I’m a crossing guard and love my job.

u/SunshneThWerewolf 6h ago edited 6h ago

As much as I do every day, which is a lot.

My wife was diagnosed with bipolar with psychosis after two gnarly manic episodes earlier this year. That's after years of battling with my older sons autism and a toddler who doesn't sleep. As far as work goes, I approach every day with a mix of dread and apathy.

After nearly 20 years of doing everything 'right' and continually climbing in my career while still managing to be a decent person, I just... don't care anymore. I don't even know if I'd call it burn out, it's like more than that. All my interest and motivation and energy is non-existent. I do the absolute bare minimum and am really only set up for it because I 'hustled' my way to a senior role, manage a really solid team of individual contributors who handle their shit, and show up for the emergencies and highly visible things.

I just absolutely do not give one tiny shred of a single fuck anymore.

u/-AVO- 5h ago

Very badly

u/Lachwen 5h ago

I'm currently out on maternity leave but I'm definitely trying to find a different job while I'm out so I dont have to return to my current job. I enjoy the work but the company has slowly gotten worse and worse to work for and I don't want to go back.

u/FriendlessFriendly 5h ago

I have forgotten what it is like to not have this feeling. I’m wondering if there are people nowadays that enjoy workdays

u/LarkAdamant 5h ago

I loathe my job to the point it gives me crippling anxiety…so dreading it quite a bit

u/LoweeLL 4h ago

If you've gotten to a point where you're dreading work.. it's time to quit. Speaking from personal experience.

I don't love my job now. But I also don't dread it.

u/geekonthemoon 4h ago

Pretty badly. We are so overworked anymore and I'm burnt out, but really I should feel quite lucky to be there.

u/rcb279 4h ago

u/UnlitBlunt 7h ago

It's wild how many people in here hate their job.

u/Iwant2FIREsoon 7h ago

I had to drive 250 miles on Friday afternoon to see my in-laws and 250 miles back home today. My in-laws are racist, stubborn, loud, opinionated, leeching money and brain-washed conservatives.

It is exhausting thinking I have to go to work tomorrow.

u/Fast_Hat9560 7h ago

I did much the same thing this weekend, but they are not poor. Had to listen to vaccine and Fauci conspiracy theories with some "New York Jew" and "illegals" comments mixed in.

u/Decent_Doughnut_7708 8h ago

There are many of us who wish we had a job to even dread going to tomorrow.

u/Shoddy-Secretary-712 7h ago

As a disabled SAHM, tremendously.

Tomorrow is the 2nd week of public school.

My 8th grader hates school. But will go with a ton of bitching along the way.

I may be watching my 8 year old nephew and driving him to school. But my SIL is as bad as me about responding to texts.

My AuADHD (with anxiety) high schooler starts homeschooling tomorrow.

My 1st grader needs to go to the doctor for what I am certain is an ear infection.

I am in a ridiculous amount of pain from arthritis, and fighting a menstrual migraine and a lupus flair. Oh. Let's not forget my former 80+ year old neighbor, who says I am her best friend list her 2nd son yesterday, so I have to be there for her.

u/para_diddle 6h ago

Hugs from an internet stranger 🫂

u/Shoddy-Secretary-712 6h ago

Thank you. I know so many people have it worse, but this week is hard and I appreciate the internet stranger support.

u/VampArcher 8h ago

Not at all because I only work weekends.

u/SplitSecondImmortal 8h ago

At work now but feel honestly refreshed after the long weekend. Nights like these tend to go by quickly and smoothly for me. Tommorow night will be something else lol

u/Apollo_Of_The_Pines 8h ago

I don't have work tomorrow. Instead I'm dreading my dermatology appointment

u/CarryTheBoat 8h ago

Not very much. Work isn’t that bad. It doesn’t blow my mind but it’s alright.

u/Top-Butterfly5471 8h ago

I'm unemployed right now so it's cool

u/Bananapancakes4life 8h ago

I’m still stuck at work and already dreading tomorrow.

u/StElm0sFiire 8h ago
  1. Today was good just boring so I’m not looking forward to standing around playing a performance of try look busy. Kinda ready for the week to be over but tbh it’s not too bad.

u/LunarLemonLassy 8h ago

I’m just gonna quiet quit this week

u/nneighbour 8h ago

I’ve really been struggling with a medication mess up. If tomorrow is anything like today, I’m really not looking forward to working through it.

u/Mr-Papuca 8h ago

Not that bad tbh, New job is so chill its kinda crazy. Dread waking up tho.

u/t3eee 8h ago

Lots 😊

u/Dadbodhappyhour 8h ago

Not at all. Tomorrow is my worst day of the week with my workload. But I guess I get to just get it over with.

u/KhalesiDaenerys 8h ago

Tomorrow is my first day back after stress leave for four months so… yes.

u/Robot_Dinosaur_2000 8h ago

I'm off tomorrow. One of the benefits of being a nurse.

u/ElPeroTonteria 8h ago

I’m off tomorrow… here till midnight tho tonight…

I’m Aiet, but I’m on for x4 12s Fri-Mon this weekend. So that has me tired already

u/venetau 8h ago

My tonsils have been staging a protest about going for a work offsite this week. Body says pretty badly

u/CaptainTruelove 8h ago

been at work all week anyways so... not too bad honestly...

u/drdino1985 8h ago

I've got an "important briefing" in my calendar that's corpospeak for redundancy. So yeah, a lot.

u/Rinzler9290 8h ago

Pretty bad. I work at a theater and Tuesday is discount day.

u/Certain_Actuator9434 8h ago

Worked today so tomorrow is just another Tuesday for me!

u/Oilers1970 8h ago

I teach high school math and late into my career… 32 years. Once the door is shut, I’m happy. The less adults in my day, the better!

u/jedidude75 8h ago

Not to much, got a few things to do but I like my job so no big deal.

u/Begoodmayne 8h ago

Ughhhhhh I have 5 meetings tomorrow. Fuck!

u/kategoad 8h ago

I e been on family leave for a week caring for my husband. I'm kind of looking forward to something normal

u/Glittering_Rough_982 8h ago

I’m not. And haven’t since I left teaching 😂

u/tinfoil3346 8h ago

Very much so.

u/40_Minus_1 8h ago

Not at all. Fortunate to have a very rewarding and fulfilling job. Conversely, trying to keep our kids safely occupied without being glued to screens over a 3-day weekend is far more exhausting than going to work.

u/Weird_Owl5425 8h ago

The way I see it is, at least I’ll be able to afford GTA 6

u/frozenpissglove 8h ago

Pretty hard. It was supposed to cool down with lots of clouds and maybe some rain. Instead it went back up to 105 and all the clouds went away. I’m working on a rooftop.

u/Lemmonjello 7h ago

Next 2 weeks off bitches

u/Usrname52 7h ago

It's the first day back for NYC public school staff. Haven't been there in over 2 months.

u/cursedmeatsuit 7h ago

Not too much. My job doesn't suck.

u/ownerofkitkats 7h ago

I’d rather not, but it’s not the end of the world. We’ve been short handed lately and I have a bad feeling that’s going to keep happening. And there’s always the possibility of getting in trouble for things that aren’t my fault.

u/HuginnNotMuninn 7h ago

I've been laid off for two weeks and am planning on enjoying my time off until I return to work at the end of September (already have a job lined up, in my industry getting laid off and finding work are standard procedure).

Honestly I'm looking forward to tomorrow because we've been hosting family all weekend and they're leaving early to head to the airport.

u/1320Fastback 7h ago

I'm pretty well set up for tomorrow. We are framing a huge custom house and I've got everything sorted and organized for quite a few days of production.

u/LiveMarsupial9911 7h ago

Very bad. I’m contemplating quitting, but then it’s a new month and bills are coming up.

u/isfrying 7h ago

Kinda looking forward to it. Should be a good day.

u/Tremulant887 7h ago

Work is fine. I'm dreading actually going to the office. I work from home but I fly out this week for my (at minimum) yearly visit.
