The Dharmarajeshwara rock-cut temple in Madhya Pradesh, India, measuring about 50 m long, 20 m wide, and 9 m deep. The temple, which dates back to the 8th century CE, was carved out of a single large rock from top to bottom, much like the famous Kailasa Temple at the Ellora Caves [1079x2145]

The Burghley Nef is a parcel-gilt salt cellar made in Paris in 1527–1528 CE. It is in the form of a late medieval ship, the hull made from a nautilus shell. The ship sits on the back of a mermaid on an hexagonal base. Now housed at the Victoria and Albert Museum [2337x4088]
