Artifacts wise it was 1 Oghma infinium and a Phynaster ring relatively early, and for the last 2 dungeons an ebony blade so I didn't run out of heal potions quickly.

Arena has been remade in Unity.

Arena Rebuilt 0.9.1 is a modern reconstruction of The Elder Scrolls: Arena, built in Unity with the goal of preserving the original game while making it much easier to play on modern hardware.

The current beta has a fully traversable world including the starting dungeon, settlements, wilderness, interiors, dungeons and palaces, along with working day/night cycles, sky presentation, weather, combat, NPCs, services, character creation, inventory, quests, audio/music and the core RPG systems.

A big part of Arena Rebuilt is being able to choose how close to the original presentation you want to stay. The game supports Classic and Modern HUD styles, modern mouse/keyboard controls, controller support, modern resolutions and ultrawide displays, while still using the original Arena art and content derived locally from the player's own legitimate Arena installation.

Arena Rebuilt does not distribute Bethesda's game assets. A legitimate compatible installation of The Elder Scrolls: Arena is required, and the necessary content is loaded/derived locally from those files.

The project is currently in Early Beta, so there are still bugs, presentation issues and original-game parity details being worked through. The major world and engine systems are now in place, with development increasingly focused on cleanup, validation and closing the remaining differences from the DOS original.

Modding support is also planned. A proper Mod API/SDK and mod-management system are intended for a later stage of development once the base game is stable, rather than exposing unstable internal systems during the beta.

Wanna get into arena at some point aswell as daggerfall but I’ll find a daggerfall subreddit either way wanna get into arena eventually what are some thing to expect apart from the low graphics and animations but I can deal with that been playing old games my whole life just is there any thing to look for or might find difficult or confusing I have tried daggerfall once and found it really confusing and hard to navigate where I was meant to go

I’ve been putting together a reproduction copy of *The Elder Scrolls: Arena – Codex Scientia*, the companion book for Arena Deluxe and finding usable artwork for this thing turned out to be surprisingly difficult. Its a book I actually want to use but don't want to wear out the original and a repro is the perfect balance to that.

I was eventually able to track down scans of the original front and back covers on the Internet Archive readily enough (shoutout to Imrmidl; original scan [here](https://archive.org/details/fc92b90e3437962cd3fe537d9ea72e50b60ef1d2/arena-codex-scientia/)), but the spine was the real problem. I could only find a very low-resolution photograph of an original copy, so I cleaned and reconstructed that separately and then combined all three pieces into a complete cover spread.

I figured I’d share the source material rather than let somebody else go through the same scavenger hunt.

The front cover is the original Codex Scientia artwork with the blue shield/title treatment, while the back is the continuation of the same painted scene with the original barcode/ISBN. arena-codex-scientia-1.pdfPDF arena-codex-scientia-162.pdfPDF

I’m using this for a clearly identified reproduction/display copy, not to pass anything off as an original. If anybody wants to use the files for restoration, archival, or their own repro project, have at it.

Behold my bard nord. Vrolk irontongue! Only got out of imperial prison already level 4 and with 15k gold to boot! Bought a full set of chainmail armor, and round shield of endurance. Found an elven shortsword in prison too.

Going to buy some elven torcs and belts from mages guild and some potions later. But at the moment this was my most lucrative start ever. And as a bard i can steal/cast. Really good class.

What are yalls tips for barding?

I have the GOG version, this is m first ever elder scrolls game, wish me luck, any tips form you arena veterans would be welcome (please try to avoid spoilers though).

Hey everyone! So I started my first playthrough of TESArena today and I'm already loving it. I always play a mage in fantasy games and TESArena is no exception. I love magic! Went with a Breton. I made it through the first dungeon without any real issues. Didn't die once. I don't know if I'm doing well. I'm currently level 4 and about to leave the first dungeon. Already have 80 intelligence and like 70 wisdom. I think that's good? I read in the manual that the first dungeon is intended to be explored thoroughly, so I basically left no stone unturned and slaughtered every rat and goblin that I can across. Got a good bit of gold and equipment to sell.

Here are my questions:

1. I don't know how to tell what damage my weapon is doing. I look on the stat screen but under damage it still says 0, no matter what I have equipped. I probably missed something in the manual, but I'm a little confused on that area.
2. When I was running around the dungeon, I would randomly get experience and level up....or at least that's what I thought was happening. Like I would enter a new area and boom level up. Is that intended? Now that I'm typing this, I'm wondering if it's more that enemies weren't nearby, but not really sure.
3. After pressing the button for pilfering (on accident). I wasn't able to seemingly turn it off. I tried pressing it again and the "choose a target to pilfer" message wouldn't go away.

That's all I have so far! It's a great game and I'm really loving going back to the original. It's really cool seeing all of Tamriel as it was originally designed. I've played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, but never Arena (Daggerfall, Redguard and Battlespire are next on the list).

Is there any what to know how many charges are left in Ring of Phynaster? Inspect in inventory doesn't tell that like with other magic items. I used it quite active and it just popped with message about "ring lost it's power, bye" and i had to roll back save (i'm planning to save it for Tharn)
Maybe use count just hidden? Will smith refill it if i give it for repair?

I know it works for levelling up health, but what about the rest? I raised it up to 100 on everything and still failed all the time at theft and didn't notice any difference bargaining, but I've never beat the game b4, so I don't know if this is normal and it's just hard to steal/get better prices, or the spells aren't working

Hello! I want to learn how to create mods for arena but I have no idea how to do it, can anyone help me with tips, advice etc ?

To be more specific I just want to create a translation mod of the game for Brazilian Portuguese, I tried to look for someone who did some of the translations but could not.

So, does anyone know how I can do that?

I downloaded the remapping mod so I can go the easier WASD route; along with a battle scaling mechanic, further line of sight, and an optimal run mod.

All from Nexus of course.

First noticed issues when I tried to start a new save for a separate Barbarian playthrough and noticed my keyboard doesn’t put in certain letters and my 2 key puts in a lowercase “c”.

Anyone else noticed things of this sort?

I've never played using atronach skill or sorcerors before because it seems lame before, but now that was just being naive. But this class is probably the best so far, when with how lethal getting ambushed is in this game and with how hard is it too sleep sometimes in dungeons.

I managed to get it running on a 386sx laptop, but the performance is obviously horrendous anyone have any clue how I could increase performance a bit more? Most mods around performance are for dosbox only and there doesnt seem to be a way to reduce screen size, and ive already set detail to the lowest it goes.

If not, oh well! I can still enjoy it a little and I already got out of the starting dungeon and to rihad.
