Discussion 💬 Rate my gaming setup y'all (yes this is my actual way to play games)
To save money, I create my own phone stand (and because it's just more fun :D)
I'm just using my phone screen as my "monitor" for me the screen did not feel too small,
But it's definitely not big and my device doesn't support external output so I'm just using my phone screen
I'm using USB Hub to connect my wired keyboard and my wired mouse
Playing with a keyboard and a mouse is really fun, I could go with Bluetooth, but why I still prefer wired?
Idk, for me wired is just more cool
So far I'm only playing Minecraft and Sonic Robo Blast 2 with this setup
To be honest its really comfortable!
So rate it from 1 to 10 y'all! Be honest

I recommend you to paint to black the white parts around the screen, will make your eyes focus easier to the phone screen

10/10! I like it! I used to game on a cardboard box and people made fun of me for it but it was lightweight and easy to move from room to room lol. You can tell some thoughtful engineering went into your solution!
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Thanks! And yeah like cardboards is like the ultimate material for D.I.Y
•
u/BagNearby9424 2d ago
Thats dope, man. People spend good money on that kinda stuff ao gj making it for yourself
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Yeah, I do actually think it's better to make it my self so I can make It to look like whatever I want, and thanks man
•
u/TheVess 2d ago
What do you play on this setup?
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Mostly Minecraft Bedrock, and some native android ports like for example Sonic Robo Blast 2 I really like that game though Im not really comfortable with the controlls yet
•
u/TheVess 2d ago
Right on! Pro tip, download Google opinion rewards. You take little surveys every now and then and you get Google play credits. It will take you a while, but eventually you can buy some of the other premium games for free!
•
u/BraveSirDydimus 2d ago
Your comment reminded me to go check the app because its been a while since I've had a survey pop up, turns out I needed to update it. Havent had a survey since April!
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
I'm dumb is this Google opinion rewards free?
•
u/peepyboy 1d ago
Yeah dude, it's on the playstore from memory I've made heaps of google play credit on it over the years.
•
u/RobbiGamer2 2d ago
The only thing you're missing is a monitor, and you can find those for relatively cheap on second hand markets
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Agree, but even if I does find it my phone doesn't have a DP Alt mode support
•
u/fr4ncotir4dor 2d ago
Looks EXACTLY like something i would do to game, when i was a teenager in 2012 i plugged my phone to an otg cable and plugged the charger and a keyboard and mouse and used a 3rd party app to map the kb+m to the screen so i could play gameloft games that way lol
Edit: forgot to rate it, easy 10/10 for creativity and uniqueness

What phone you rocking?
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Realme C53! I have 6gb of physical ram which is acceptable It doesn't have a very well known chipset, it uses a Unisoc Tiger But it perform succeed my expectations, it can handle some light PC emulation with Winlator, some PS2 and Gamecube

Pro tip: If you like fps games, you can play quake via "quad toch" (available in the play store for a couple of bucks).
It has full native MNK support

u/Think-Cartoonist-982 2d ago
I didn't know c-type can connect to both keyboard and mouse!
•
u/KorovasId 1d ago
Type C can do everything man. I've got a type C hub I can plug into my phone and it can do Ethernet, video output, USB peripherals(MnK), data transfer and charge my phone all at once. Truly eye opening, I didn't realize how far the industry was taking it with this humble connector.
•
u/Character-Code-453 10h ago
Agree, VERY agree for me type A and type C is one of the underrated ports

u/bobby3eb 2d ago
For the love of god raise it up. My neck hurts looking at this
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Is it to low? For me it's fine but anyway thanks for your opinion!
•
u/bobby3eb 2d ago
You may be young or without nexk pain but yes extremely low.
When you game on the monitor it's supposed to be eye level. With this you'd be looking straight down. It'll slowly do damage
Companies spend big $ to ensure their employees dont get hurt and have ergonomics people for this reason.
Find something you can set on the desk and get it raised up 100000%
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Oh okay, young? Maybe yes I'm older than 13, I will do my best to raise my setup so I don't get neck pain in the future
•
u/bobby3eb 2d ago
Good! even a cardboard box to set that on is great. You can get permanent injuries even under 18 from stuff like that!

•
u/Rubicon208 2d ago
We have the same type of keyboard lol, mine is just way more dusty.
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Is yours Acer too? This type of keyboard is nice right? RIGHT?
•
u/Rubicon208 2d ago
Nevermind, I thought mine was Acer. It's a Logitech hahaha.
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Brand doesn't matter, if it has keys, WASD, looks cool and functional then it's a nice keyboard
•
u/Calm_Flamingo2390 2d ago
This is genuinely so creative, I love it
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Thanks! And yeah "creativity thrives under constraint" and yeah I pick that from google

How’s the heat? Try adding a cooler or make a cutout near the motherboard for the heat to dissipate if you are going to game for long hours. Nice setup btw.
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
It does get hot in there (my phone), yes maybe I will because I'm too lazy to do cutting cardboards again 😭 but thanks for the information I will definitely think more bout this
•
u/No-Relative-2942 2d ago
since you got the mouse and keyboard set up you should try the counter strike port
•
•
•
u/callsmockjohnson 2d ago
I like it. You make it work with what you got, that's very cool.
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Yeah, couldn't afford a real PC but I can buy a real keyboard and a mouse
•
u/buzz8588 2d ago
It’s a sad day when your keyboard is 5X bigger than your display. 2 stars.
•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
Yeah, it's kinda funny to look at it doesn't matter too, I still can gaming with it quite comfortably
•
•
u/funzerkerr 1d ago
This is so cool. You could play classic doom games with mods like Brutal Doom using Delta Touch. It would be great to play with keyboard and mouse. I also think about games that use keyboard to play. Nethack port like Pathos or Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead with keyboard would be so much easier.
Amazing idea and I love execution.
•
u/Character-Code-453 1d ago
Thanks! Yeah I'm thinking about it too, I will play a ton of MS-DOS and Doom with this kind of setup About Delta Touch it's great but it's paid, I'm not saying it's bad, but I literally make my own phone holder with CARDBOARDS so I'm looking at a free native android ports and MS-DOS with RetroArch
•
u/funzerkerr 23h ago
Ask Beloko (dev) maybe he's got spare codes for delta touch. Show him your setup.

•
u/ConsiderationOne6329 1d ago
The screen is quite tiny in comparison to the keyboard so it feels abit off but if it works for you then happy days
•
u/Character-Code-453 1d ago
Yeah agree, well at least I got a screen and agree again it's kinda feel off too
•
u/Foreign-Dig8695 1d ago
Yo crafting table!
•
u/Character-Code-453 1d ago
Sup bro, have we meet before? This vibes giving me feeling I have met u before
•
•
u/Nell152 1d ago
Add games like hollow knight and if possible hades too
•
u/Character-Code-453 18h ago
Thanks for the recommendation
•
u/Nell152 11h ago
Btw why did you buy the docking hub? You could've just got a nice controller and turn your phone into a handheld.
•
u/Character-Code-453 10h ago
Yes I do have a controller, the BSP D11 and yes I'm turning it into a handheld too I'm planning to post it here too about y'all opinion One simple answer, because it's cool and fun playing a game with full keyboard and a mouse on my phone

•
u/Character-Code-453 2d ago
