[Mod] [Megathread] Opponent BM Screenshots thread. Potential NSFW language. NSFW
Old thread got archived so here's a new thread.
There has been an influx of BM screenshots coming in and it's always something we've seen as a bit of a grey area for the sub. This is since so many people seem to enjoy them, but they also often have quite vulgar language in them, which isn't exactly what we want welcoming people into the sub.
So instead you can post them all here and people can enjoy them if they want but also avoid it at their own discretion.
So go ahead and post away.

[Mod] Join the Allthingsprotoss Discord Server!
Hey everyone, as you may or may not have noticed, this sub isn't super active anymore and I've not been doing too much to keep it alive. Pretty much everything is being done through the discord server. So if you want to interact with a more active community and participate in our different events that we host, then I'd suggest joining the discord too! I still pop in here and post when I can, but most everyone is over on the discord now and has been for a few years.

PvX/Random P vs Random
Hi
I am diamond rank.
I do not feel confident vs random at all. I hate the feeling. I don't play a cheesy game in general.
I just have no idea what I want to do and am very indecisive. Wall setup and first 2 pylons are very important.
Any help is thanks.

PvZ Zerg here. Why do you guys play so different post patch?
3.6k for reference
Macro games against toss used to feel so hard but so rewarding to win. My winrate in ZvP hasn't changed post patch but now I die more than before to all ins and almost never die in straight up macro games. Macro games just feel easy against toss.
I am not invalidating balance complaints when I say the following.. I don't know enough about protoss to do that.. but it just seems like toss is playing the game in a worse way than before and I don't understand why.. let me explain.
Last two macro games I had against toss:
Went cannon rush into almost pure voidray colossus (legit like 4 gateways only) so that was an easy roll with just pure roach hydra.
Played chargelot immortal archon (good comp) but without any storm and then did not transition to air when I got lurkers out so he just died for free as soon as I had like 8 lurkers. If he had storm and if he had any carrier/tempest shortly behind my lurker transition we could have had a fun game. But instead he just lost the game for free. It was very anti climactic because we were having a good little duel for a little but then.. suddenly I hade too much stuff that he didn't make the tools to deal with.
Many people playing two stargate voidray which is just god awful. Cannon rush which idk maybe I am good at defending them or maybe my macro build is just really good against it but they seem to largely do nothing and just put protoss way behind. Was like that a bit pre patch but now with the 8 worker start cannon rush is so much more committal than before and I really don't understand why people are still trying it.
I mean am I going crazy here? every toss diamond and up knows they need storms/colossus/disruptor vs hydra and skytoss vs lurker. You guys were shitting on me with that stuff a year ago. Why don't you do that anymore? what happened to the oracle openers into twilight/robo? Why do you seem to forget how to do the things that once sent me into a blind rage?

PvZ Curious on your thoughts with the map pool.
So Protoss players we have had some time with the current map pool and im curious what everyone thinks with builds you might do.
In PvZ I have been opening up FFE into stargate. Send probe out right after I drop forge. Doesn't mean ill get a cannon. I have just ran into so many early pools on maps like Rainfall, Rorschach, Washout and it just shuts it down.
PvT I have been struggling. I have a blink build dialed in finally. Lots of these maps look designed against blink. Faith and Fear, Lockdown especially. I'm considering working on a Phoenix/Colossus that I haven't done in years for those hard blink maps. I really don't like to veto maps.
PvP Doesn't really matter to me. I usually just macro tell I get bored then Cheese a few.
At the moment I have Faith and Fear and Rainfall veto. I go back and forth with Lockdown veto.
How about you?

New to starcraft 2 from warcraft 3 and i want to be a protoss player, where do i start?
So, im a warcraft 3 player since i was 5. Despite just playing against friends and computer normals, i wanted to try out starcraft because i thought it'd be fun (it was). And during my time with starcraft 1, protoss stood out to me. They warp in buildings similar to undead, dragoons (stalkers) which reminded me of troll headhunters which is my #1 unit in warcraft 3, and high archon which reminded me of Apparition spirit from Dota 1.
Im now at starcraft 2, got everything working, and now i want to probably main protoss. Question is, where do i start? There's many new units now, and i still get confused on what build order i should have, when to expand, what army fits against x and y, etc.
im more used to warcraft 3's slow-paced gameplay, just sitting there and accumulating gold and lumber. I don't know how to adapt to the game's fast-paced matches, but im doing what i can as i LOVE the aesthetic and models of the buildings and units in this game.
I hope to receive some tips on how to properly play protoss, as well as some other "common sense" strategy because old habits is making me treat this game like a fast-paced warcraft 3 game
and I'd also like to learn what other things i should be doing that's normal like scouting and expansion etc, and how to play against certain matchups

Patch #6: Why So Late, and Why Bother?
It goes without saying that the current patch is unsatisfactory both at the pro level and on the ladder, and rumor has it that there will be another big patch coming after BlizzCon.
The prize pool is surprisingly low, even with the RSL offline finals happening at the same time (~$10k USD in 2025). How does this qualify as an S-tier patch if the prize pool is this low?
Also, if the legacy team/PiG/OmniSkeptic (idk, name your own conspiracy theory) knows that things are bad and is trying to do something about it, trivial effort as it may be, why not do so ASAP? Isn't that the whole point of damage control? Also, why even bother doing a balance patch at all when the best tournament Blizzard can offer has only a $20k prize pool and the pro scene is pretty much in the toilet?
I have no doubt that the next patch is going to wreck protoss again, while giving the race some "buffs" to units nobody even uses.
Shame on whoever's responsible for this hot mess.
Have a nice day.

[PvZ] Looking for a stream clip: PiG gets nuked 3 times in a row as Protoss in pvz
For some time now, I’ve been reading on reddit that pig has been saying things like, “Every single protoss player is using the gateway wrong.” And there was one time when he played protoss and got destroyed by zerg three times in a row.
Does anybody know when this hilarious event was streamed? I really want to watch it.
TY very much!

PvT How to react to a PvT 2 base push?
G1 new P. What's the correct response when I know a 2 base Marine & 2-3 tank push is coming?
Am I supposed to meet them halfway and get them to siege or do I just drop a whole bunch of cannon/shield bats? Do I drop several more gateways in anticipation -> morph to warp? Should I have a natural-Wall or is that just blocking myself in?

[PvZ] 13% win rate in PvZ
Hi,
This is a call for help to my fellow protoss players 🙏🏻
I am trying to learn to play with protoss and I really struggle with PvZ. I am in gold 1 now (2600 MMR) with 70% win rate in PvP, 84% win rate in PvT, but 13% win rate against PvZ !
I feel like I just don’t get it… Against P & T I open double gate into 4 stalkers harass before expand (Zuka build), and it works reasonably well. From there, I go into a CIA build on 2 or 3 bases.
But I am completely at loss against zerg. I lose to essentially a new composition every time I play PvZ: today I lost against a guy going Muta, then against a guy who played ling bane (PiG B2GM style on three bases + 2 macro hatches), and then yet against another who played corruptor + ultra.
I realize this is not a balance issue ! I just suck at PvZ. But I just don’t understand how to play the matchup. It feels very hard to secure a third. When playing skytoss, I surive into the late game but get completely rolled over by mass hydra or corrupters + ultralisk, and when I go CIA, I lose to muta + ling.
If there are any build orders or general tipps on how to approach the match up, I’d love to hear it ! Really taking any (ideally constructive haha) advice 🙏🏻
Also, for reference, my main used to be terran at 3000 MMR, but I wanted to try out protoss. So I am not a good player by any means. Maybe good to know for others haha

Is there a roadmap from beginner to grandmaster for the current v5.0.16b patch?
I tossed the question in the title to google and the stupid AI recommended a Heroes of the Storm YT video. I'm not sure where to start. Should I start with the campaign or go to multiplayer?

[PvT] Hello! I've been in a slump recently please help me!
REPLAY : https://drop.sc/replay/27469682
So as the title suggests I've been in a slump, just got off a losing streak and then got it stabilized again. The problem is I just got from gold 2 to very low gold 3 mmr. When I checked my race reports low and behold it was literally out of 100 games against terran, I won 42 and lost 58. So 42%
Please critique my replay, and also anything that can help me with improving against terran. Thanks in advance!
