It looks like it does the hoodies also says "Since today", so today would make sense to start the band.

Well it's a good thing he's a fan because he's about to start enjoying that, whether he wants to or not.

Do you assume all prison systems are like the ones in US? Or do you have personal experience with Russias prisons?

Curious why a drug dealer would be destined to rape in prison ?

I actually knew a guy who was in prison in Russia. From what I understand, it's much worse than prisons in the US, but I've never been in either, it was just a joke.

Idk my friend who was in prison said it's really not that bad. He likes to rag in Russia and the govt a lot but when we were discussing the prison system, he was like "yeah, alright, the American system is actually way worse.. It wasn't bad when I was in prison here" he said he just had a lot of time to read, so he read all the sacred texts of all the religions and found out it's all the same shit and decided he likes Hinduism the most because at least they're fun about it. Told me stories about how there was some plant growing in the yard that turned out to get people high and so a bunch of the prisoners ate it and were high off their rockers. They were the group that would go to the second yard to work (it was voluntarily) and there was a check point between the two with a sniper up top, and everyone had to have their documents checked. But this time they were all so high they couldn't even speak, one guy was climbing the fence. So the guards pulled him down, then encircled them by holding hands around them, because they kept wandering off, and then just did a head count and took them thru 😂😂 then the next day they cut down all those plants to avoid having that happen again.

My friend actually just went back to prison a couple of months ago... So guess we'll see what his stories are like, whenever he gets out.

Has he been in prison in the US though? I have a family member who was and said the same thing, that he had a lot of time to read, learn, and workout.

Anyway my post was really just a joke. I don't want to be in prison anywhere!

He's compared stories with people who have - he's got lots of friends who travel all over.

I know you were just joking. But I think the fact that in the US it's such a common joke about an apparently common prison social system, I think, says something. There's no such stereotypes about it in Russia. In Russia the stereotype is that they make backgammon sets in there - and apparently that's pretty true. So like if you buy a wooden backgammon set in Russia, it was most likely made by a prisoner. That's about it.. And then the stereotype about ex cons being uncultured and drunkards and such.

u/RunWild0_0 19d ago

It's perpetuated in the US more than it actually occurs as well.

The stories of the times it does happen seem to really terrify men and it gets blow out of proportion. Not to say it doesn't happen. But Id like to see the comparison on a woman's odds of being raped outside of prison vs a man's odds of being raped when incarcerated.

Source: more than half my family on both sides collectively have done some time.

Bro Russia's prisons are so fuckin' bad, even after they stopped using them as cannon fodder.
