Need advice on which one I should get for a more heavy user, it will probably be on around 45 hrs weekly. This will be a mix of YouTube, movies, sports & gameplay - gta, sports, god of war, AC type open world stuff. I know OLED is the obvious answer especially with the sales going on right now but I'm really just worried about the burn in, any help would be appreciated TIA.

Taught a bit and i decided to pull the trigger and update from the 65” LG G5, i bought and returned to get a 77” TV

Now i have 2 options

77” G5 for 2650 USD
77” C6H for 2400 USD

From what i heard the G5 still has a better picture quality

To me, the difference comes to the mounting method

With the C6, i lose the gallery design, but i can route the cables trough the back of the TV, to the right side, where my outlet + devices are

With the Gallery design, i either make a channel for the cables in the wall, or i use this stick on cable chanel, which on the 77 model, is on the left side of the tv, and i have to carry everything over to the right side ( i already have some 3m HDMI cables, with them barely reaching, and the power cable is a bigger problem, since on the 77” model, it needs to be routed trough the back, on the left side)

I'm located in Europe.

My budget is 600€.

I don't want to play on the Tv just enjoy movies.

How long does the BRAVIA 8 II take to switch frame rates with an Apple TV? I’ve read that the screen can go black for around 3 seconds when switching, for example from 50/60 Hz to 24 Hz. Is that accurate in your experience?

Are they still using the same moth eye filter on these newer TV sets?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sizing up a new living room tv and with the current Best Buy Labour Day sales ongoing, I need to pull the trigger soon.
My gf and I have a shortlist of some options, we’re operating on a bit of a budget, but a flexible one if the more expensive option is truly that much higher quality, all of our options are 55” as that’s the maximum that’ll fit on the entertainment centre that I’ve rigged up.

The options we’ve taken a look at are the TCL S45L (HDR10 LED) the TCL Q6L QLED and the TCL QM64L QD Mini-LED

Primarily this tv is going to be used for streaming through the onboard apps (despite me having a firestick we could use, my gf insists that ‘it’s simpler’ to use the smart tv functions) and watching blu-rays and occasionally throwing on a hockey game streaming through my firestick. There will be some gaming happening on there sometimes via my Xbox or switch 2, but 99% of the time in single player type games, so game modes and all of that aren’t as important to me seeing as I have an 8 or 9 year old 40” 1080p RCA dumb tv in another room that I do the majority of my gaming on that still runs and looks great to my eyes.

The real priorities for me with this purchase are 1. Longevity, because I don’t wanna have to buy another in just a few years time. 2. Picture quality- I want to be able to fully enjoy 4k blu-rays “as Nolan intended” for lack of a better descriptor. And lastly, I’m in general, pretty anti-AI so if any of those options aren’t crammed full of that shit, that would only be a positive, or if it has to be part of the picture, I’d prefer an option where it can all be turned off.

So with all that, I’d also gladly take other recommendations as long as they fit within the budget of $350-$450 CAD for a good midrange option or $600 for a really high quality but still budget option like the QM64L. Thanks in advance all!

I plan on buying a new TV after years. My options are either:

LG OLED G5 55 Inch TV (£1,499.98 + Plus 5 Year Warranty)
LG OLED C5 65 Inch TV (£900 + 1 Year Standard Warranty, with options to add on years)

I want to know which ones you'd recommend ?

Disclosure: LG provided me with a G6 at no cost as part of a promotional event here on r/4ktv. I was asked to share my experience, but everything I’ve written here is based on my own opinions and impressions.

I also just want to say i’m not a TV expert, just a regular guy that enjoys OLED tech and watching way too much TV. This is not going to be a technical analysis of the G6, I’ll leave that to the pros!

Let’s begin!

So I’ve had the LG G6 for a couple of weeks now, and coming from an LG C4 I’ve been having a lot of fun putting it through its paces. My TVs get a lot of mixed usage between myself and my wife/kids streaming movies, watching 4k discs, sports, YouTube and lower quality streams from my wife’s home country. 

The first thing I noticed straight away was the brightness . This thing is insanely bright. It’s more brightness than I’ll ever need and is noticeably brighter than my LG C4. What surprised me most is that the extra brightness doesn’t come at the expense of colour. The colours stay incredibly rich and HDR highlights pop all thanks to the tandem stack panel. I thought my C4 looked fantastic, but the G6 makes it look a little well… dim, which is something I thought I’d never say.

Reflections 
My living room is pretty bright, with windows to the side of the TV and directly opposite it, so reflections are something I normally have to put up with.

The G6’s Reflection Free Premium screen is easily the best reflection handling I’ve seen on a glossy OLED. Looking at my C4, which basically doubles as a mirror when my room is bright, the difference is huge. You can see the difference in the above photos

I know people will say get a matte screen if you have a bright room. But I’ve never been a huge fan of matte screens spreading glare across the panel or taking away some of that deep, punchy OLED contrast and colour. The G6 does a such great job preserving black levels, colour and contrast which has made watching during the day so much better. 

The one downside is that in very dark scenes, reflections aren’t completely eliminated and appear as a purplish glare. It’s noticeable, but personally, I’m more than happy to live with that trade-off to keep the glossy finish.

Dolby Vision
Dolby Vision content looks fantastic. The extra brightness really helps HDR content pop, and bright highlights have that “wow” effect. I read there were some Dolby Vision issues with the G6 at launch, including some weird contouring and banding in darker scenes, but thankfully LG has since addressed these with firmware updates and I haven’t come across any issues during my time with the G6. 

Nitpicks 
The Magic Remote pointer takes a bit of getting used to and feels like a throwback to the 2000’s Wii era with the waving and pointing. I do like the upgraded remote on the G6 though as it does feel more premium and streamlined. A backlit remote would’ve been a nice touch.  

WebOS. It works completely fine but it isn't my favourite OS. I think I’m just so used to using Apple TV that it’s hard to change my ways. 

Overall
So far, I’m really impressed. The combination of brightness, colour and reflection handling makes the G6 such a good option for an OLED in a bright living room. It has also handled all the content I've thrown at it really well, both SDR and HDR. 

The fact that it manages to dramatically reduce reflections without going matte is probably the biggest positive for me. So much so that I'm going to be picking up a 77” G6 over the holidays. It has sold me. 

I'm looking at replacing the TV (TCL 55P605) in our living room. It was purchased in 2017. We have had zero issues. It has been a great TV. It is primarily used to watch streaming channels. We also use it to watch physical movies using a PS5. Occasionally we play PS5 games on it. It does sometimes get left on all day to music from YouTube for our dogs. It's in a room where the only window in the room is behind it and two lamps are on the same wall but in the corners. The window has a window treatment that blocks out most of the sunlight. We don't care about brightness as much as image quality and the TV feeling like an upgrade. On the current TV in the Roku OS we set brightness to darker for most of our content viewing.

I'm looking at replacing with another 55" TV. Leaning towards the TCL QM7L Pro since its from Costco vs the LG B6E from my local Best Buy.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I already have a oled in my bedroom and for a gaming monitor. Easy to adjust lighting to get the best pciture.

Debating on a mini led or oled for the living room.

Mainly due to ambient light. Its an open concept so The kitchen and living room are one big room. Im concerned if i go oled the lightning will affect the picture when trying to watch something and it will become an annoyance. I dont always want to have to close all the curtains and turn off all the lights. Especially when just trying to watch TV.

Maby a the Matte finish oleds are good at combating this?

Or just go with a simple mini led tv and call it a day?

I dont spend a ton of time in the living room. But id like to have a nice experience when watching tv.

What are you personal experiences. Have you had one and switched to the other? Lmk

I recently bought a new 4k tv but the graphics looks grainy and twitching in some games (the twitching happens only in some games while the grainy texture happens everywhere). Tv model: Xiaomi F pro 43.43 inch, 4k, Qled. The console is an Xbox series S.

I'd like to avoid LG and Samsung entirely though one because of their intrusive record everything you say, and the other because of their immense failure rates. And obviously TVs like Roku too.

So I have a KDL-46X1000 that I bought in 2005 that its still my main TV. It still works fine so no rush. Whatever TV I get will be a massive upgrade.

I have pretty much settled on a 75" Bravia 7 ii. I think they earned some brand loyalty. Question is that it's on sale at Best Buy now for 3k. Should I just buy it or wait till Costco starts to stock it and buy it there. Costco carried the 7, so I am pretty sure they will eventually have it, but who knows when.

Should I buy the TLC QM9k 2025 for 999$? Or is there any other 65 inch with a better deal right now?

So I’m looking to buy a new tv, my tv seems fine for the most part, but I’ve been thinking for a bit about getting something that might be more crisp and have better blacks, my current one is a bit blotchy sometimes.

I seem to see the Bravia 8 ii as the gold standard currently, but there seems to be a lot of firmware audio issues?

I’ve seen whats available in store, they look good with the videos they play, but honestly my cheap old 4k tv looks good running Apple TV wallpapers, but not so much other videos.. so it’s honestly difficult to really tell, how do they compare to say an Apple Display, that’s probably the nicest screen I’ve ever used.

-Viewing distance about 4m, don’t want to go bigger than 65” aesthetically.
-Does that mean OLED/ 4k won’t really matter at a farther distance, even with good vision?
-Large/ bright room but mostly evenings/ night viewing.
-Mostly TV, Streamed over Apple TV box
-Light gaming and sports.
-BestBuy warranty worth it for 4y at like 25% of purchase price?

I swear I am seeing motion blur and having issues seeing enemies when playing fast paced FPS games. The TV is in game mode but I'm thinking I am getting some pretty decent motion blur. I was thinking of picking up a 75Q77K or a 75QM6K Pro at costco. $580 vs $850 respectively.

I'm trying to decide between these two TVs:

TCL 98C7L — $1,800

Hisense 100U8Q — $2,100

I know the U8Q has better specs overall, but the C7L is a newer model, so I'm still considering it.

My main use is Netflix and movies, mostly in a dark room. Picture quality is my priority, especially black levels, blooming control, HDR, and shadow detail.

For those who have seen or used either TV, is the U8Q actually noticeably better in real-world movie watching?

Would you pay the extra $300 for the 100U8Q, or save the money and get the 98C7L?

Been running on an old 1080p Vizio 70 in. From like 2015. Recently horizontal line appeared making two different brightness halves. So in the market to replace/upgrade, primarily used for gaming(ps5), watching sports (hockey football). Been reading a lot on the tcl qm6k and qm7k but wanted to get some feedback from others who have had them or similar

8500 hrs run time, no remote , no stand. Should I buy it from Best Buy? It was on display for 1 year.

My room is fairly big and there are two windows
One behind where i plan on putting the tv (with curtains), and a smaller one on the wall to the left of the tv (with blinds)
Usage is 70% gaming
30% series and movies
And i for the life of me cannot make a decision on this

Hi! I'm looking to build a mini home-theatre predominantly for PC/Console gaming (Mainly single player games)

I recently heard news that LG TV's are INSANELY sketchy about privacy and selling my data, so I dunno if I should go with one or not. Thoughts?

I'm looking for a TV that's good on colour accuracy, since I do art as well. What screen type should I get? I heard OLED has burn-in issues, but it's much better now, but I'm still worried about it with things like Game UI and such.

I plan to hook-up my PC, Switch 2, and maybe something like an Apple TV for things like YouTube and streaming services.

I do not care about sound quality from the TV built-in speakers, since I will be figuring out a better solution in the future or just using headphones.

What size should I buy? I see the prices on OLED, and while they do seem to be the best for gaming, they're REALLY expensive and not that bright. And the sizes drastically change the price.

So what are you opinions? I'm in Canada and looking to drop a maximum of $3500 CAD on a new TV.

Have semi narrowed it down to these 2 for my bedroom TV Qm7k 55” $700 / QM7L Pro 65” $899. Wondering if anyone could weigh in on the better option between these 2 or if they recommend anything else within the budget. Would be for 4k movies and moderate gaming in a fairly covered room from light coming in.

I also looked at a Samsung S90H that I could get cheaper than these.

This is to watch TV - films and some streaming services but no game playing.

Coming from a 15 year old Samsung 46" . The telly sits facing into the lounge with a window behind it so reflections should only be lamps at the rear of the room.

I get that I will have to upgrade Disney plus and Netflix to HD and probably buy a 4k DVD - currently have a Blu Ray DVD.

Seem to have fallen down too many rabbit holes - Samsung seem to get slated and they have no iplayer support but the Apple TV box we have does.

Any suggestions or thoughts on which i should go for and why? Seem to be hitting analysis paralysis with this.
