Personally I don’t think there’s a terrible uniform for the new set but my favorite one is the new rival ones those are clean

and honest looking back at it now, the battle red with the blue helmet and white pants honestly stink. The all red now just makes the old red look like a high school team

but that’s just my opinion

It'll probably be one of the receivers but I think Dalton Schultz will be the first one to put 6 on the board. Maybe CJ does it himself or the defense picks Josh for 6?

I really hope CJ Stroud goes off this year and proves he’s an elite QB, but I also hope Caserio and DeMeco don’t make the same mistake this franchise has made before by staying too loyal to certain players.

One of the biggest “what ifs” in Texans history will always be Kubiak and Rick Smith sticking with Matt Schaub instead of seriously pursuing Peyton Manning. That 2012 team was loaded, and I’ll always believe Manning could’ve won a Super Bowl here.
That’s why I don’t want to see history repeat itself. This is arguably the most talented roster we’ve ever had, but the window isn’t going to stay open forever. Danielle Hunter and other veterans are getting older, while guys like Kamari Lassiter and Calen Bullock are eventually going to need new contracts. We simply won’t be able to keep everybody.

Receiver is another concern. Nico Collins isn’t getting any younger and we still don’t know who our long-term WR2 is. Tank Dell is an awesome player, but that was a horrific injury to come back from. A lot of us expected a big year from Jayden Higgins before his season-ending injury, so now his development gets pushed back. And if Kayshon Boutte goes for 1,000+ yards and starts looking like a legitimate WR1/WR2, that’s another talented player you’re going to have to find a way to keep.

That’s why I actually respect Stroud betting on himself instead of taking top-12 QB money. Now he gets a season to prove he deserves elite QB money, and Houston gets another season to evaluate him before making a massive commitment.

I’m rooting for CJ. I want him to be our QB for the next decade. But if we get another season where an elite defense and loaded roster are being held back by mediocre QB play, Caserio has to be willing to make a difficult decision. There’s a difference between believing in your quarterback and becoming so committed to him that you ignore what’s happening on the field.

Hopefully this conversation looks ridiculous by January because CJ balls out. If we get anything close to rookie-year Stroud with the defense we have now, I genuinely believe this team can win a Super Bowl.

On experiencing pressure:

"Pressure is a privilege. I'm excited. I've always been challenged in my career. I've always had to persevere through things, and I think this is something that I'm grateful for. I didn't wake up and forget how to play football."

On how he handled the months after the NE game:

"I'm proud of myself for how I've handled these past couple months. Yeah, I have things that I want back and mistakes that I made. But truly, God has worked through my shortcomings. If I was perfect, I wouldn't be able to be coachable or have the fear of God. So I'm glad that I have made mistakes."

On the expectations for him this season:

"I play this game because God has chosen me to go through these things and to have this talent. Got some guys around me that want to protect and want to run the ball. So I think that'll help, and I'm a hell of a football player."

On social media criticism:

"People are quick to use Twitter. I focus on me. I can't control [social media], so why would I care? Of course I'm human. I learned if some people had the opportunity to be me, they would. But a lot of people have opinions and don't have opportunities."

"So the more opinions people have, the more opportunity that I have to prove who I am. They love to critique. That's part of life. I play in an entertainment sport, so they're critical of a lot of people. I have the opportunity to go play. No one can stop that."

Since that devastating loss to the New England Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs last January, DeMeco Ryans has often tried to forget about it. 

He admits it was one of the most difficult losses of his now nine-year coaching career.

“Even with the game and how it went, we still had a chance to finish that game the right way,” Ryans told the Houston Chronicle. “That one definitely stings."

“It will sit with me for a while.”

He wanted to help the Texans do something they had never done before — advance to the AFC championship game and then to the Super Bowl. Since then, his goal hasn’t changed. 

He believes the city of Houston deserves it. He won 10 games in his first season, 10 in his second and 12 last year. 

While some coaches shy away from suggesting their teams can win a Super Bowl, Ryans isn’t afraid to tell his players what he believes. And he believes this team has the potential to be special. 

His expectations are that too. 

“This is a tough business that we do, so I don’t know what low expectations are,” Ryans said. “That’s never been in my MO. That’s never been in my life. Anything I try to do, I set out to be the best at what we’re doing. 

“That doesn’t change for me leading a football team, coaching a linebacker group, coaching a youth flag football team, whatever that looks like. I want to go out and win. That’s all I know. I’m a competitor.”

Last season, the roster was heavily tilted toward the defense, and it came at the expense of the offense, which was working through a new offensive coordinator, a makeshift offensive line and a makeshift running game. 

So fixing that became an emphasis this offseason. They acquired David Montgomery from the Lions to enhance the running game. They added further depth to the offensive line. Three of the Texans’ first four draft picks were offensive players, including lineman Keylan Rutledge, who is expected to start at left guard Week 1. 

And late last month, after second-year wide receiver Jayden Higgins suffered a season-ending injury, the Texans made a trade for Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, who scored the game-sealing touchdown against them in the playoffs last year.

The moves have seemingly paid off. There was more back-and-forth in training camp this summer as opposed to the defense dominating the offense every practice.

The Texans’ offense saw significant success in the joint practices against both the Las Vegas Raiders and the Carolina Panthers, which Ryans hopes is an indication of future success. 

And the defense was dominant, too.  

“For me, my goal is for us to be a team in unison,” Ryans said. “I don’t want to have a lopsided team where everybody talks about how great the defense is, and the offense is just the offense. 

“I want the same intensity level, I want the same relentless mindset from our offense as we do on defense, and we’re getting there. We’re making those strides.” 

Azeez Al-Shaair has also noticed a heightened sense of urgency from the head coach. He said this was the toughest training camp he’s been a part of since he arrived in 2024. 

Ryans talks about that urgency in meetings often. The message since the team returned in the spring has been the same — they’ve got to go get it now. 

In the spring, they moved through their playbook and formations much quicker. They were more efficient. He estimates that they began offseason workouts two weeks ahead of where they were last year in that process. 

“We’re trying to do it right now,” Al-Shaair said. “We’re not waiting. If you want something, it’s not going to fall into your lap. You’ve got to go take it.” 

“So I’ve seen this extreme level of locked in focus that he’s had and demanding that from everyone else around you, so you have choice but to uphold that standard.”
