Apologies for the fingers in frame and poor sound. The sound is me chirping at it to test if blind or not. As it doesn't react to me walking at it at all. Reacts to sound. What should I do with it? Comes around often, and I'm new in this park.

This is little Gimpy Possum. She was coming by to eat cat food for about two weeks and her limp was getting worse. There are lots of cars and coyotes around here, and she can't defend herself. I managed to trap her in my TNR cat trap and got her to a wildlife rehab/rescue center north of where I live. She's only about 7 months old and has joey's in her pouch. She will be taken to the vet on Tuesday when they re-open to examine her leg/foot although they can't do xrays due to her babies in the pouch - they are only about an inch long. The wildlife center tell me she's doing well, eating and drinking. I've had bad luck trying to trap injured possums to get them help, this is the first time I was able to catch one. The rehabber says she can be released onto their property which is close to a small lake, has lots of brush for cover, and there are no coyotes or cars around as it's rural. Hopefully this little one will have a chance to live a better life in that environment. They will help her joey's once they are big enough to leave her pouch and then release them too.

I don’t know what happened but this morning she was lifeless at the bottom of her cage. She has no injuries, was gaining weight, was healthy and agile…I checked her last night before bed and she was curling up in her hammock and doing her normal eating and climbing.

I know it was likely something out of my control but I still feel so sad and wish I knew what happened. I was just about to mix up a new stage of food because she entered the next weight class. No fleas and she was just dewormed.

Any ideas what could have happened? I’m thinking maybe heart failure? I was really thinking she was going to make it to release 😔

We’ve had big ones stop by but never a baby. He’s sitting in a cat food dish, then sitting on the side of it! They are amazing, adorable creatures

I haven't seen the possum in awhile since these two showed up. Do skunks run off possums?

I finally got a decent look at the momma possum who has been coming in my yard every night with a pouch full of joeys. Not the best quality video, but it looks like they might soon be falling out due to lack of space. (I do a sweep of the yard every night/morning for any that might have fallen out)

Work in town, was able to catch him and get him safely out of the truck's engine. He's pretty smaller though, maybe 8-9" without his tail. Big enough to let go in the woods at home?

Update: we took him home and released him in the forest behind our house.
