I didn’t even realize that any of my black mollies were pregnant, I went to remove my plastic plants to put in some real plants today and found this guy swimming at the top. I’m just gonna put my live plants in and put him back in the tank. I hope he survives!

I did a water change today. I brought home two Otos for my algae, and a snail. Got some live plants and found a baby black molly.
And forgot to add dechlorinator.

Wasn't sure whether to put this under discussion or question, but I think since this will probably be a bit more in depth, I've picked discussion.

I'd really love to keep clownfish, its been a goal for a long time now, and I'm sure no matter what, actually setting everything up and having one will be a year or more in the future. (I need to do research and save up and stuff first, little guy needs the absolute best life possible.)

And in trying to research for this goal, I realised, I've truly got no idea on how to keep fish? I don't know how to acclimate them, I wouldn't know how often the tank needs to be cleaned, or how to set up those fancy self-cleaning tanks, or if those are even worth it in the long-run.

And yes, I'm very aware I could search all this up on Google, and I will, but I know whatever results it gives me, it won't be the same as people in a dedicated group talking from experience, which is something I cherish when it comes to the sharing of information.

I'd like to know if outside of just Getting The Tank, is there anything specific clownfish require? I've heard they don't need anemones to be happy in captivity, and that's only if you're going really fancy. So what should their tank have? I've heard it's also not great to just leave it completely barren, and that some kinds of pebbles/sand isn't good for any fish? I've also heard that clownfish can be kept solitary with little to no upset from the "loneliness" aspect of it, and that the minimum for an adult lone clownfish is around 20gal? And if, say, I wanted to get the fun decorations, how would I know they're trustworthy? Cause some apparently have paint that's bad for the fish and I'd absolutely hate to harm them in any way!

Just wanted to share my unintentional baby corys lol i only found they hatched cause of a ongoing filter issue that required me to take my filter apart i wasnt even trying to get them to hatch i thought my betta ate all the eggs😭 any experience would be much appreciated🥹 (theres 6 that i could find lol)

I was given this tank set with lights and filter, and also 3 fishes. As it can be seen, the tank is too small for the fishes and they kept hitting the wall which is giving me anxiety.

From what ive search online, these are orange platy, i could be wrong tho. And they live well with a single Betta fish and shrimps. I also saw that its recommended to not have all females in one tank, but all males would be alright. Thought there is a problem, i saw that females have a longer tail while males have a straight and shorter tail, but I cannot really tell which they are... And I have a looooot of questions right now as I am forced to be a fish mom so suddenly with no time to prep.

What size of tank would be suitable for them? Im wishing to have more plants in the future and will surely be putting soil in the tank too, will a 24cmx24cmx28cm tank be sufficient for the fishes? And what else should I know?

no fish yet bc it’s still cycling (on week 2) but I’m so happy with how it turned out especially since it’s my first time since I was like 8 having fish. I’m so excited I can’t wait for it to finish cycling so I can add some tetras and guppies (20 gallons for like 12 in total dw). if there’s anything yall know about new tanks or guppies and tetras(neons specifically) lmk cuz im a beginner and any advice is great ^_^

Saturday I added 10 Amano shrimp to my tank. Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20ppm, GH 8, KH 7, PH 7.4.

Because I have a 400 litre tank with lots of plants and 3 large pieces of wood I expected not to see all 10 for the next few days. I saw 4 out and doing their shrimp business last night.

I’ve come home from work just now and spotted the above in the pictures provided.

Can someone tell me if one of them has passed or has moulted please?

Tanks been established for a long time. Never any issues. In the last 2.5 weeks, I’ve had a tang, angel fish, and clown die. All had rapid breathing, inability to swim, maybe a light film on them. Did a FW dip on one, and it helped immensely. Started PraziPro, thinking it could be flukes, but not entirely sure. I do not have a quarantine tank set up. Hoping to avoid doing so if at all possible.

Woke up to this guy looking ever so slightly off. Swimming/mannerisms are fine. I just might be paranoid? I’ll attach photos in comments.

So these are some guppies in my 20 gallon community tank all of my parameters are okay ammonia is zero nitrate is around 20 PPm pH is around 7 and KH is at 3to 4 nitrite is 0 we've been having some die offs here recently and have been treating with metroplex in the food for stringy poop and flashing. I stopped at about a week ago because things look like it cleared up but I'm burying a fish every other day this tank has been set up for over 2 years now I'm not sure what's going on is it the stock I'm getting or what am I doing wrong I just checked the TDS it's at 334 they are in there with some in there with a couple live bearers and some rasboras I noticed a lot of them displaying this type of behavior does anybody know what's wrong?

Recently bought a big gold fish (The black one at the bottom). Since then, he's been eating my plants If you see on the upper left side of the pic, he's even managed to sever the stem of the plant.

How can I stop him from doing that? I feed them twice a day, before and after work. If it's completely unavoidable, should I just remove the plants?

Help with fish reccomendaruons for a 75g planted tank using controsoil. As this soil/plant setup conflicts with a lot of fish (due to digging/tearing up plants)

this might sound like a silly question but today as i was topping off my tank and feeding my fish, i noticed this fella hanging out. i have three adult ember tetras (used to be four but one died while we moved :() and i noticed that this one is specially tiny. maybe half size of my female? i could be able to tell if all my tetras hung out together but because my tank is heavily planted, i often see them one or two at a time. he is small but maybe my mind is playing tricks on me? i also dont know how to tell if my female is pregnant and didn’t even think they’d want to reproduce since its been a year without anything like that happening and im not specializing my tank for breeding so he’d be a miracle baby!!! anyways let me know thank you!!!

I have a 30G tank with 8 amano shimp. I was thinking of getting corys or medakas but I was wondering if there’s some other species I should consider ? I often see some fish recommendations as peaceful but when I ask around for actual experience, it sounds like they can actually be more agressive towards other species, such as guppies eating neons, etc.

Hey guys, I’m a complete newbie and this is my first time having a pregnant guppy.

As you can see in the video, she’s in my 28L tank. I’ve added some hiding spots and a bit of hornwort for the fry. There are also 3 juvenile guppies in the tank with her.

Do you think the tank is safe enough for the fry, or should I make some changes? Should I add more hornwort, remove the 3 juveniles, or move the female to another tank?

Also, how long do you guys think she might have before giving birth? She looks REALLY loaded, but she’s still swimming around normally and freely.

Can anyone make a rough guess from her appearance/behavior? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

I had an outdoor walstad 38 gallon which currently has a vorticella infestation, i added 9 talisay leaves but they are releasing tannins too slowly, so i researched and planned to boil 10-12 talisay leaves and im going to dump them to my walstad tub.
