Gulf of Mexico

I found this old photo at an estate sale and decided to pick it up because I liked the composition. I'm pretty sure this is docked in New York, and I think it's from the 30s (but that's just a guess).

Are the three smokestacks enough to help identify the ship?.

I usually use Google Lens for this kind of thing (or Google image search) and it's usually pretty good at getting it right. But this image has Google stumped (probably because the foreground has half of the ship obscured).

It keeps shifting between the Queen Mary (which I think is too early for this photograph) or other German ships.

I was on one of her very early sailings to the Isle of Islay..and I was on one of her very last.

I was wondering how she was doing but I cant find any new articles on her from recently, has anybody found some, or better then that, seen her sometime in September
