Everything else was wonderful in that quest until the stealing horses part. The game made it seem like a bad thing if you didn't want to steal them. Yes the man refusing to sell the horses was a racist but still. Racism doesn't just make stealing okay.

Does anyone ever feel annoyed that the world stays same just before final chapter even if Nilfgaard wins , but only White Orchard gets updated?

I wonder if the remaster will ever completely overhaul this stuff? CDPR has always been passionate but they have never fixed this thing. This one stuff singlehandedly breaks the fun for me.

They even don't let the broken gate of Kaer Morhen to be dragged up using the lever - barring to ride in or out on Roachback.

And I seriously wish they had given us a better outcome for Roche , Ves and Thaler if we had chosen side with Djikstra. Or , a better outcome to come in peace so that the North prevails.

There are many disappointments in the GOAT game for me. I wonder if anyone still gets bothered by it or not!

So for the past month I've been playing the witcher 3 using an external controller and it's been working fine, but just yesterday it's suddenly stopped working, the controller works fine on other games, the steam menu and even the red launcher but it's specifically the witcher 3 itself that doesn't work

Here's a list of things that I've tried but haven't worked

Changing the controller order

Disabling steam input

Enabling steam input

Restarting the steam deck

Verifying the integrity of the game's files

Deleting and reinstalling the game

Unplugging the external keyboard and mouse

Ran the game on proton

But none of these have worked, what's weirder is that the steam deck itself is also not working anymore unless I literally unplug everything from my setup and use it handheld, does anyone have a solution for this?

Also the game is using the Xbox button layout that's why I'm pressing square even though it says x

Edit: I found a solution but it's really stupid basically if I turn the controller on after I start the game it works fine, idk why it's like that

Finished the main story some days ago, but no DLCs.
I am not sure which way is „better“ for the experience.
Replaying the whole game, but less focus on main quests? That means if I go to a City I focus only on side quests and if I do not find new ones in this area I continue with the main quests.
Or accepting my „wrong“ playthrough in terms of Vibe and atmosphere and focusing on side quests now. Because if I start the DlCs there will be more as I guess, so I would have the same problem somehow.
Do you guys went through something similiar and if not, do you still have a opinion with your experience?

Saving my Witcher 3 play through till remastered in 3 weeks. Any good short RPGs that you guys would recommend while I wait? Thinking of perhaps Witcher 2 or is that a long game?

Or if I just have the normal (non Complete, non GOTY, no DLCs), will I still get the Remastered with all the DLCs?

One of the Crones took it off from Ciri and flew away with it right. I thought there would be another quest of us tracking down and finishing her off to reclaim the medallion or something, but I've finished Heart Of Stone at this point and nothing mentioning it again?

Without mentioning the probability of it being brought up in Witcher 4 (which is really completely possible duh), is it mentioned in the Songs Of The Past maybe? (Dont have the dlc). Or maybe for the book readers, is it mentioned as significant in the books? (Havent read the books yet either)

Struggling to loot just this particular item. Ive tried different angles, using magic etc. Is there a trick to it? Is this a common issue? Is there a fix? Although its most likely not worth it I would still like to be able to loot it or else i might have to drop the game.

I’m currently on my first ever play through, at level 26/27 and completed some missions in Skellige. I don’t know how far exactly I’ve gotten in to it.

I’ve been doing side quests and going to a lot of unmarked locations, as well as hitting Gwent pretty hard.

Just found out that with NG+, I’m going to lose my gwent deck and might be wasting my time with frivolous ventures.

I’m wondering.. should i continue to complete side quests, tick off all of the unmarked locations and do the DLC’s to improve my level before starting NG+?

Or should I hit the story, get it out of the way and go in to NG+ with the intention to fully complete everything then? Should I save the DLC for NG+?

Will I carry over all crafted gear, so it’s worth using up all of my resources on weapons and potions etc to bring with me?

I’m thinking to be ready to go in to NG+ when the remaster update is brought out so trying to figure out what’s best to do here.

I’m pretty sure I beat this game when it first came out.

But then again I came back and started all over and there are bits and pcs I don’t remember at all.

I also came back to the game years ago and bought the DLC and I kid you not. All I remember is at the start of the dlc, you had to fight a frog.

And I’m pretty sure I must have been under leveled. I think even looked at YouTube for tips, and I could never beat the frog and gave up. Lol.

Well now I’m addicted all over again. Actually learned Geent and finished all of those quests. Then I finished Fists of Fury.

My next mission is still Ugly Baby, cause I did it and had a mission fail, so had to go back and do all that. Now I’m doing the Bloody Plot.

I’m just doing it all now basically. I wish I could continue the story, but I want to save the main quest and DLCs for the remaster.

So my question is, is there another main story mission I could get too and stop at before the end of the game? After Ugly Baby, cause I can’t really remember the main story now, and I want to proceed. But I still have all kinds of other quests I can do….

Anyways. I can’t wait for this remaster man. I have a pro now and this game seriously blows me away. I had a new playthrough going before it was even announced, I was fkn shocked and full mast.

I tried playing The Witcher 3 after hearing so many good things about it. It had been on my radar for a long time, but I never played the first or second game.

Because of that, I was really confused right from the beginning. I didn't really understand what was going on, who everyone was, or most of the background story. It felt like watching a movie where everyone except you already understands the characters and the context.

Another thing that really put me off was the amount of tutorial pop-ups at the beginning. They constantly interrupt the flow of the game, to the point where it started feeling less like playing a game and more like a reading simulator.

Gwent was another example. I didn't really understand why they introduced a whole card mini-game so early, when I was still trying to understand how the actual game worked and what the story was even about. Throwing another system at me at that point didn't exactly help me enjoy the experience.

I finished White Orchard and made it to around Velen, and now I'm genuinely considering whether I should keep going.

There are definitely things I like about the game, but I feel like the way the beginning is designed is actively preventing me from enjoying those things. It's not like Dark Souls, where they just throw you into the deep end and let you figure things out. Here, it almost feels like the game is constantly trying to explain or sell itself to me through tutorials, and for me it just isn't working very well.

People always say that the story in The Witcher 3 is amazing, but right now I can't really understand it. I constantly feel like I'm missing important information, and that the story is somehow encoded or inaccessible to someone who's completely new to the series.

I don't really have any problems with the gameplay or graphics. I understand those aren't necessarily the main reasons people love this game anyway.

So help me understand: is it just me, or is it normal to feel this way when starting The Witcher 3 without having played the previous games?

Is there a certain point where everything starts to click and you stop thinking about all of this and just get absorbed into the game?

​A friend of mine is looking for an immersive, story-driven game with a unique narrative that actually surprises him. However, he's ruling out The Witcher 3 for two main reasons:

​Time constraint: He's a new dad and simply doesn't have the energy for 4–5 hour gaming sessions anymore.

​Open-world fatigue: He's afraid it's just another generic, bloated open-world RPG.

​I'm convinced the sheer quality of the writing and main quest design makes it a perfect fit for him despite his fears.

​Could you give me a 5-bullet-point pitch to convince him it's worth his time?

I picked up a dathmarch playthrough again, after all this beatiful news to have play H&S and B&W in the remastered edition end of this month.

My head told me that questionmarks do not look good on a map, so i finished it all before picking up Ciri, sailed through Skellige, crafted all mastercrafted gear etc.

My tipp to avoid boredome while sailing skellige an picking up useless loot from smuglers catches: mute the game and start listeing to the audio books. I am half through blood and elfes while playing muted gerald, picking up loot!

I hope to have everything completed on death march before SotP.

Finished the base game, hearts of stone and nearly at the end of blood and wine. Did pretty much all possible side quests and contracts. And never got to make these 3.
