Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting
To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:
u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde
Notes:
- The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
- The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
- Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
- For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
- Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
- When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
- If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
- Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)
Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Answered! Dance song with a skeletal beat (video)
I remember this melody vividly but I have no idea from where, heard it recently in a video and I had to record it to try and find it but alas nothing seems to be working to identify it.
I was thinking someone like Sophie but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Would really appreciate it if someone recognises it.

Folk Greek folk song performed by street musicians, does anyone know this?
This folk song (I think a Greek song) was performed by street musicians in Athens, and I couldn’t find it or understand the lyrics to find it. This was in August 2026. Does anyone know this song? Shazam or hum to find doesn’t work for me.

Indie It's a sad break up song
I remember many years ago (like five or more, definitely pre-AI), there was a lesser known "indie" type song that was very sad about the end of a relationship or that the feelings were never even properly reciprocated. the singer pov was def one of heartbreak. There was no music video but i'm pretty sure the thumbnail/image was a green velvet theater curtain. i also remember the title being something along the lines of "the curtains close" or "the show is over" ykwim? Female singer, not very over the top production

Non-English Opera Need help finding the original Balkan/Ukrainian/Russian opera that inspired this song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq1HMN7X3qY&list=RDvq1HMN7X3qY&start_radio=1
A few years ago, I tracked down the origins of this song to an opera that was sung way before the inception of this one. But now I can't remember the name of that original song nor can I remember the country of origins. All that I could recall was that it either originates from the Balkan countries, Türkiye, Ukraine or Russia. Or I could be totally misremembering it and the destination of origins is further east like Kyrgyzstan.
If anyone can find it for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

J-Pop/J-Rock Old trending japanese remix song on tiktok
I remember this song so vividly but I cant remember the name at all
Theres this song im trying to find its japanese and it was trending on tiktok a while ago and it was like a remix or something.. it says something in the start (pretty sure its from an anime) then repeats and cuts the word like a reminx with a vocal chop it literally like (some anime sample in the start) watashi- watashi- watshi- watashi- watashi (then rest of the song) and im pretty sure the entire song is just a loop of the same part it just repeats
The beginning part which sounds like a sample from an anime And then its like a vocal chop

Other/Unknown I need help finding this one song, but I can only remember an animation that used said song..
I remember really loving this song but I cant find it so in trying here... I dont remember the genre, I think it was kind of indie?? Or alt?? Or maybe neither.. I dont really know how to identify most genres..
I remember the animation style being comparable to one of Stomach Books works? Or atleast giving a similar vibe...
The animation featured a candle like character as the singer, they had drippy wax hair that was like, pale? Or just Lighter colored, and they had a wick with a flame on it, I think they also wore a sweater? But I could be wrong, im bad at remembering specific clothing...
The singer I think had a more masculine or androgynous, kind of monotone voice, the lyric style reminds me of how Jack Stauber writes his lyrics, kind of abstract, but still following the theme? The song im thinking of was not a Jack Stauber and didn't sound like one Instrument wise tho*
I dont remember if the animation was the official video for the song or not, but it was always the video I went too when I wanted to listen too it..
There was also a part where following the lyrics the candle character is in a house and the house shrinks around them, and then i THINK turns into something else?? There was also a scene where they were walking? Or standing on a sidewalk...
And lastly, the animation was on YouTube
PLEASE help, ive been trying to find this song for like 2 years 🙏🙏🙏

Rock Unknown artist - Ready Teddy (unkown cover version), form Russian TV
Hi! Can someone help me with identifying the song and the artist?
Unidentified artist singing a cover version of the rock song "Ready Teddy" (1956). I couldn't find any information about this song, so it might have never been officially released or it has a different name.
The clip was aired on the Russian TV channel "NTV" between 1997 and 2001.
It’s worth noting that it starts with an original intro that wasn't in the song. The first two lines resemble the beginning of the song "Let's Twist Again" by Chubby Checker, but the lyrics were changed.
Little Richard - "Ready Teddy" (original song) - https://youtu.be/QtmRwHfp0Ok?si=fir1UA_EMluOia6u
Chubby Checker - "Let's Twist Again" - https://youtu.be/q1X43lcU7Ck?si=qRVPxG1cqOJgfsch
Hope someone will help me, thanks in advance!

Instrumental Does anyone know what this orientalist sounding piece is called? I found it on my hard drive and I have no memory of where I downloaded it from or what it's called.
I have to upload a video for some reason because Reddit doesn't seem to allow direct audio uploads.

Mashup Trying to find a song from like 10 years ago
This is going to be hard to find. When I was younger, I would watch YouTubers like idubbz, leafy, etc (bad, I know), but there was this one song that I just remembered today that I was hoping to find again, and I'm having no luck.
It sounded like either a remix or a mashup, and I think it would play as either an outro or an intro. It started with a group of people going 'ah-h-h' going up in pitch but not too much, and I'm not sure how long after, but the beat would kick in 'do-do-do-do' with the lyrics being something like 'the world is cold, my --- into you'.
PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS IT HAS BEEN STUCK IN MY HEAD

Phonk What's the song from this brainrot world cup reel? Some kind of trap or phonk maybe?
This isn't a joke, I swear I've heard this one somewhere else before.
I know its a shitpost but I'm genuinely curious. Is it some phonk or other brainrot? I've definitely heard it before, probably also from reels.

Pop This one song I heard *once* and sounds very similar to "Leave Me Alone" by Renee Rapp
Specifically the first 36 seconds of said song: https://youtu.be/tiPWzFLiz4A?si=UmPkVsJwm3aN3NPh
A few other things I vaguely remember:
Has a fairly obscure title
Female singer
Pretty upbeat
The main chorus goes along the lines of "I'm bad at being good but good at being bad" BUT these aren't the literal lyrics
I genuinely don't know other stuff about this song and I just came across it by random chance T0T it's been stuck in my head

Non-English help me find this old sounding jazzy/violin song
this song has been stuck in my head for a few hours, i’ve been looking for it but i only remember a small snippet. it does not sound like english, it’s a woman singing and there’s definitely violin in the background. it sounds romantic, elegant, yearning, and a bit gloomy. it sounds like it’s from the 1900s id say. she has a european accent i think. i don’t understand what she’s saying, but it sounds to me like cuuu za maaaaaaa or kuuu zah maaaaaa. i certainly/very likely heard it from tiktok or instagram. i tried using googles voice thingy and it didn’t work, no results came up. helppp

Answered! please help ID a disco house song from me whistling its part…
what it says… it's what I'm sure a famous house song with a prominent looped string sample. the string melody goes something like this: root for two beats, up a semitone for two beats, up a semitone for two beats, then across two more beats it's 1-4-3 and back on loop.
I think it should be from around 2008-2015 era. in my head, it's either from like the late-aughts ibiza crookers royal t kind of scene, or early 2010s hipster-adjacent julio bashmore/todd terje milieu.
(be nice it's my first reddit post ever)
