Tried to play against Orchid very tactically and be strategic about my landing spots. I felt like I had a good mix of high and low attacks, and I was able to get a couple of strikes in the air.

Needless to say, she caught me a couple of times with her batons, and once they hit, they do a considerable amount of damage, especially because she is one of the faster characters when it comes to stringing together her combos.
I’m definitely working on sticking and moving back and forth while also judging distance with Saberwulf. You definitely need to be very alert when facing Orchid.

Glad I was able to get the W. It feels good to document my progress, slowly but surely. Every match is teaching me something new, and I’m starting to recognize the little things that can make a difference.

Tough Survival Mode loss against Sadira, especially because she’s my main character and the one I always run with. I know her move patterns pretty well, so going into this match, I felt like I had a good understanding of what she was capable of.
There was a lot of back-and-forth throughout the fight while using Sabrewulf, but ultimately, I was too indecisive in some key moments, and I ended up paying for it in the end. There were several situations where I hesitated instead of committing to my decisions, and against a character like Sadira, those small moments can make a huge difference.
I’ll definitely be studying this match closely to understand not only how I can improve with Sabrewulf, but also how I can better approach fighting against Sadira. The funny part is, this loss ultimately ended my Survival Mode streak. 😂

Had some good Survival Mode play with Saberwulf. He’s definitely becoming more natural to me, especially when it comes to using his combos and getting the timing down.
Depending on whatever character I’m facing, I can sometimes get stunned on defense and pay the price for it. But I’m also finding that I’m able to push the pace and stay aggressive in my Survival Mode matches a lot of the time.

I felt super comfortable playing against Eagle, and that was probably one of the matches where I felt the most confident with Saberwulf.

Granted, I’m only playing on Beginner mode right now, but I’m starting to become much more fluid with Saberwulf, and I can really feel myself getting more comfortable with his moveset.
I’ll be posting the other video clips as well, including one brutal loss against Sadira.

Felt very good against Thunder. I was able to keep him cornered for a good portion of the fight and felt pretty comfortable controlling the pace.
The tricky thing about fighting him is that he swings his axe so wide that it can still clip me, and I end up falling victim to getting locked out, even when I believe I know when to combo break.

It’s small things like that that I’m trying to recognize and react to quicker. Although my hands aren’t as fast as I would like them to be, I’m learning to anticipate these situations better and react as quickly as I can.

The more I play, the more I’m starting to recognize these little details, and that’s a big part of the progress I’m trying to make.

I finally got a win against my cousin after so many losses. I still have a lot to learn on the technical side of the game, especially when it comes to inputting my combos faster and things of that nature. But after this one, I felt really confident at least the journey continues. 🎮

You guys in here im assuming are already aware of this, so apologies if this is more known than I’m aware of, but I’ve never come across anywhere/anyone online that has mentioned this Mortal Kombat like Hidden Test Menu that I stumbled onto accidentally on the Arcade Version of Killer Instinct 1 while starting up a new game.

I wanted to share this in case it’s not as widely known to anyone like it was/is for me.

I am a player who is only able to use my right hand due to very limited function in my left hand. As someone who lives with cerebral palsy, I started playing Killer Instinct about two weeks ago. I was able to win some ranked battles and reach Bronze, but ultimately, I decided to unrank because I was being inconsistent and having trouble winning consecutive matches.
Now, I’m starting from the ground up again.
These are the stats and steps I’ve collected after today, following a full day of playing KI, combined with the rest of my stats from when I first started playing two weeks ago.
There is still a lot that I need to learn, especially when it comes to stringing together my combos. I want to be able to play aggressively, but also in a more fluid and controlled manner. I’m also working on learning when I need to use combo breakers and how to properly utilize my main characters, Thunder, Sadira and Mira.
I’m slowly figuring out how to get myself into a rhythm when I’m playing while limiting my urge to button mash. I know consistency is going to be one of the biggest things I need to work on as I continue learning the game.
I wanted to share my stats with the Killer Instinct community so I could hear your thoughts. Based on what you guys see from the numbers, is there anything that stands out to you? Is there anything specific that you think I should focus on improving?
Any advice, tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated. I’m still learning the game and starting from the ground up, so I’m interested in hearing what more experienced KI players think about my progress.

If anyone is around on killer instinct right now I have a lobby that I just created for bronze players. I’m trying to get better at the level that I’m at before I start competing against higher ranked players. Wondering if anyone can help me identify this instrument? It sounds like it’s being played via midi controller later in to the track, but I’m sure the original sample is a real instrument, it almost sounds like pitch shifted throat singing. I swear I’ve heard something very similar it in action movie soundtracks as well

I find it practical to play one move at a time so i can get really familiar with that move. Not just the move, but how the opponent responds and how easy/hard it is to dial in and whether i should use the D Pad or not. Playing that move the whole way through the ladder before moving on to something else really makes the sequence stick in my mind,

Uh no i'm just kidding you can't break enders in this game he broke my heavies but it kinda looked like he broke my ender due to connection discrepancies

A few months ago I sat my 11-year-old down and taught him the mechanics of the game. He picked up on it relatively quickly and I encouraged him to watch some YouTube videos to get better. Tonight he set up the game and asked to play because he's been practicing with Orchid.

He wins if I play with jago, glacier and spinal. He's as good as me if I play with riptor, thunder, combo or cinder. The only time I consistently win is fulgore and orchid.

Tonight I taught him everything I know about Orchid. All of my combo starters, my transitions, the three Ultras that I knew.. I give it about 3 days until he's better than me..

So I need to get better before this weekend and I will take any advice y'all can give so that my 11-year-old isn't better than me..

This dude hit me with like a 48 hit ultra so I made him do it again so I could take a picture..
