I’ve been seeing a lot of these cases lately and honestly, it’s disturbing. This recent case involving the Manipuri musician in Delhi is another one.
Are mob lynchings actually becoming more common in India, or does it just seem that way because everything gets reported and shared on social media now?
Either way, this feels like a very bad way for us to be moving as a society. The idea that a group of people can decide someone is guilty and take matters into their own hands is terrifying.
Why do you think this is happening more often? Is it communal tensions, misinformation, political polarization, or just a growing sense that people can get away with this?
Not looking for the usual bullshit arguments about which political party or religion is worse. I’m genuinely trying to understand what’s happening.
